CLAUDE
Few days after the wedding…
There was just something about her that was really invigorating. They way that she kept her emotions, and the way that she would make me feel like I wanted more of her.
I deliberately angered her just to bring out other emotions she might have. But still, nothing. I couldn’t even make her cry, even if I sometimes hurt her physically. Fear was all I could see in her eyes. Not even a single tear would fall.
Unpredictable. That was exactly how I could describe my wife. I knew that I was being challenged to discover more about her, I guess it was due to the fact that I knew nothing but her name. Those fears in her eyes, they made me want to probe deeper. I would usually think of how she felt about everything I did to her.
I had first heard about a certain agreement of me being married off to someone from my mom when I was just in my first year of high school. I ignored it then, even though I often heard it from my mom until I reached college. She only stopped when I joined the SEALs. But I was surprised when it was brought up again last month.
When I first saw Sia, I honestly thought that my mom just randomly picked a girl from somewhere, and decided to bring her along with her. Not that I was picky with women, but Sia looked so young and innocent, how could she probably agree to it?
I was the biggest playboy among our friends. They said I was even worse than their other friends who have the same behavior as mine. Some of our SEAL buddies even joked about me, saying I would make out with a utility pole if I saw it wore a skirt because of my love for women.
It was also my favorite pastime to be unfaithful. I couldn’t even count how many women had passed through my hands. Like what I said, I wasn’t too picky with women. I indulged in women of different colors, races, and body shapes. I had experienced threesomes multiple times. I had even attended orgies. Exchanging partners meant nothing to me. But the problem was, I couldn’t be satisfied. I was starting to think I had nymphomania.
I had even reached the point of mixing various drinks to turn them into aphrodisiacs and giving them out to the women I was with. After just two or three rounds, my partners would already be tired, while I was just getting warmed up. So, to keep those women up all night, I made them drink the concoctions I prepared.
As a prank, I even tried giving these drinks to my friends. Chaos ensued because I discovered that the effect was even stronger on men. Not only would they black out, but they would also become insatiable with women and wouldn’t stop until the next day. I had gotten into fights several times because of this prank.
When Sia entered my life, everything turned upside down. I never thought a woman could disrupt my orderly existence. I was furious when I first faced her and learned she was the woman my mother wanted for me.
Again, for me, she was so young. How could my parents even consider marrying me off to a woman ten years younger? I didn’t want her. I was sure she had no experience. I didn’t want a woman who knew nothing about the bedroom and pleasing a man. I was convinced she wouldn’t be able to satisfy me sexually. I thought my time would just be wasted with her.
But I was wrong. The first night I claimed her, I found out my wife was a virgin. Yet her body burned like a raging fire as I possessed her. She matched my heat and the electricity that surrounded us. Every moan and whimper that escaped her lips was like sweet music to my ears. I never imagined I would meet a woman my body would almost refuse to let go of.
If I wasn’t worried she might have a hard time, I would have claimed her all night long. I exerted extreme self-control just to restrain myself.
“Claude Xavier!”
I immediately looked up from the document I was reading. My entire face lit up upon seeing who had suddenly entered my office. Normally, no one could enter without passing through my secretary. I don’t like being disturbed while working, so I was ready to be frantic at whoever dared to bother me. But my anger vanished as soon as I recognized the newcomer.
“Haven?”
“Hi, handsome!”
Before I could even stand up, Haven approached me. She sat on my lap and wrapped her arms around my neck.
I was taken aback. “Hey! Wait…”
I held Haven’s hands and gently lowered her down.
“Get down, Haven. I’ll just stand so you can hug me properly.”
She pouted and playfully kicked her legs as she got off my lap. “You’re so unfair! We’ve only just met again, and you’re like this! When did you change, huh?” she asked with a smirk.
I chuckled and gently pinched her nose. “Since three weeks ago, Haven. I got myself a wife.”
Her eyes widened.
“What? Are you serious? How did that happen? I thought you had no intention of getting married?”
“That’s what I thought too. But my parents arranged it.”
Haven raised an eyebrow. “I don’t get it.”
“Let me explain.” I placed my hands on her shoulders and guided her to the sofa in my office, near my desk.
If it were any other woman in front of me, I wouldn’t give her the time to disturb me. But because Haven was my childhood friend and a close friend, she was exempt from the rule.
Haven and I had been friends since we were little kids. Her father was my father’s business partner at Artisan Furnitures. Our dads had started the company together when they were still young men, so our families were always close.
Despite Haven being three years younger than me, we were still tight. I had always been her protector since we were young. As we grew older, anyone who wanted to pursue her had to go through me first. She had several boyfriends before. But at twenty-five, she still wasn’t married.
We had an agreement when we were kids that if she reached twenty-nine and I reached thirty-two and we were both still single, I would marry her. But that agreement couldn’t happen now because I am already married to Sia.
“Do you still remember what my mom always used to say, that she would marry me off to the girl she chose?”
“Yeah, I do remember. What about it?”
I sighed. “Three weeks ago, I got married to that girl she had chosen for me.”
Haven fell silent, staring at me as her eyes blinked rapidly. She let my words sink in. “I thought you would wait for me,” she almost broke down as she spoke.
I scratched my head. “Hey! I never said I would wait for you. I just said that if you’re still single when you turn twenty-nine, we’ll get married if I’m still single too.”
“That’s unfair! I was waiting for you! I was only gone for three years, and when I came back, you’re already married. Why is that?”
Haven punched me while crying. I couldn’t do anything but let her. I had never even dreamt that my childhood friend had a secret crush on me. With all the boyfriends she had had, I never thought she liked me.
But I didn’t feel anything more for her. I only saw her as a friend and a younger sister. The only reason I had told her before that I would marry her someday was because I thought she was the girl my mother had chosen. I was mistaken. The girl my mother had in mind was Sia.
I could never imagine myself being intimate with Haven. No, not at all. I couldn’t picture myself French-kissing her. It would be like kissing my younger sister Claribelle.
So, even if Haven sat on my lap or hugged me tightly, it meant nothing to me. There would be no reaction from my body. Even if I were a man, my member wouldn’t stand or harden, even if she undressed in front of me.
