The moment she went downstairs she saw Amanda and her children chatting happily about their trip.
“Oh, Ariel, you are here”, the old madam Anderson called out to her.
“Grandma, thank you for the medicine” she said, and the old madam chuckled lightly.
“Come and take a look at the gift Amanda bought for me.”
“Auntie Welcome, how was your trip?” Ariel Ann reluctantly greets them.
“Oh! Ariel, you should check out the gifts I brought back for old Madam”, Amanda said as she laid her head lazily on the sofa.
“Yes quickly check them out, sorry we forgot to buy you, gift.” Dana said sarcastically.
She sat beside old Madam Anderson who held her hand sweetly. Jealousy brewed in the other people’s eyes seeing how the old madam treated Ariel.
“Ariel, you should tell the maids to pack these things to your room. Everything here is what you young stars use these days. I hardly go out of the manor, so I had nowhere to wear such a dress or jewelry. Talk more of carrying this type of bag.”
“What!”
The trio asked, shocked and there was bitterness in their hearts.
“Mother, how could you ask Ariel to take everything? These are the things I bought for you with my money. She can’t take them”, Amanda complained bitterly.
“Yes grandma, mother is right, you can’t just give the things she painstakingly gives to you to another person” Claudia said supporting her mother.
Old Madam Anderson said coldly “It’s the Andersons’ money. Anyway, I can give it to whoever I like, it’s not like you work for it”
This old witch is always doing as she pleases.
Brenda smiled at Ariel. “Of course you can take them since mother ordered them. Next time I’ll get mother what she can use.”
The old Madam ordered the maid to take the things to Ariel’s room. Meanwhile, Amanda and her daughter could only watch them move things.
While they were at it Ariel Ann saw Rex Anderson, so she took the initiative to help him push his wheelchair and chat with him a little.
“Honey, you must be tired from reading the documents. It must be hectic?. Does your backache? Are your legs uncomfortable? You didn’t even get to sleep all night. Come and sit down. Let me take a look.”
The people around looked at her puzzled at her words.
Even Rex Anderson was shocked by her sudden warmth and display of affection.
Did she take the wrong medicine or is it that her acting skills have gotten better?
Of course, devil, your grandma had just fed me a bowl of bitter medicine.
Rex Anderson pursed his lips and didn’t say anything.
Not long after, Andrea Anderson was seen coming from their apartment, when he saw Ariel pushing Rex. He immediately walked over.
“I’ve invited two experts to go with you tomorrow for the negotiation. After all, this is a very important business deal.”
“Alright, I understand” Ariel Ann answered.
“Do you need my help?” Rex Anderson asked Andrea.
“There’s no need for that now. Father will oversee what the international client means after tomorrow’s negotiation”
“Such opportunities involve a lot, so you should pay attention to it. Don’t let it slip. You must strive for the interests of the Anderson company”
Ariel Ann nodded “Got it Rex”
Rex Anderson was a bit confused. It was the first time Ariel Ann called him by his first name.
Ariel’s scalp tingled when she realized she had misspoke.
“Wow, it seems my cousin and sister-in-law relationship is skyrocket”, Andrea said, his voice laced with sarcasm.
“Of course, we are supposed to start developing feelings for each other now so that things could get better with each passing day. It’s normal for newlyweds, or could it be that you wish my relationship with Rex to get worse?”
Andrea Anderson’s face turned purple and green with envy.
“Of course it’s normal” he said with a smile.
They walked to the dining area where others were waiting for them.
While they were seated, Ariel turned to Rex, she took his hand and gazed into his eyes, saying “Rex, grandma helped us find something magical. The medicine that could help us conceive. But I think we should share this journey together. You should them too.”
Of course, I knew that you had indeed taken the wrong medicine, so you’re just getting back at me.
Rex Anderson chuckled softly and even with the mask covering a part of his face, people’s sharp eyes couldn’t escape the teasing gleam in his eyes.
“Are you suggesting I join you in a herbal love portion?” he replied playfully, leaning closer while cursing Ariel in his heart.
“Yes, Rex, we’re couples anyway.”
“I’d love to, but I’m afraid it’ll interact with my medications.” To others, it sounds like the truth but to Ariel it’s just him shirking his responsibilities with excuses.
Did you think I’d be the only person drinking the bitter medicine? You lie, I would not allow you to escape.
“I’ve made inquiries from a professional doctor, and I also checked it out from Google. This type of medicine is not only good for conceiving children, it’s also good for your health overall. Grandma went to such lengths to get the medicine? Did you want to waste her effort?”
Ariel turned to the old Madam Anderson who sat quietly at the table asking for her support.
“Rex, you should join your wife in taking the medicine,” Grandma said.
“Yes grandma, I’ll gladly drink the medicine with her”
Ariel smiled wickedly as she ordered the maid to bring a portion of the medicine for him.
Seeing the black liquid in the porcelain bowl, Rex Anderson looked at Ariel with killing intent while she smiled sweetly at him.
Ariel Ann, you’re a dead meat. How dare you set me up? This looks horrible. How will I drink this?
Rex gulped down the medicine with a stoic face while the bitterness engulfed his taste bud.
“Happy now”
The other family looked at the couple differently. Some looked at them with anger, while some people looked at them with envy.
Ariel smiled sweetly at him, while the others were eating happily, the couple were cursing each other and, if looks could kill, Rex Anderson would have died a thousand times from Ariel Ann’s stare as her eyes bore daggers into his skin.
