Rex Anderson glanced at her. “I’m different from you.”
“Of course, I know there’s no amount of advice I give to you right now that’ll be useful. But one thing I know is that your parents would not want you to invest 99. 99% of your lifetime in revenge. It’s your choice whether to listen or not.
He looked at her with a smirk.
The devil is upset
She looked at the photo and smiled “Devil, your mum is beautiful, and your dad is handsome. The two have such good genes.”
Ariel paused to look at the man’s relaxed expression and whispered “You’re breathtakingly handsome.”
Rex Anderson’s piercing eyes locked onto her, a hint of a smile playing on his lips.
It wasn’t until morning before they returned to Anderson’s home. Just as they arrived by the door they saw Andrea typing away on his computer.
Seeing Ariel Ann and Rex Anderson, he paused and smiled sweetly at Ariel. “Where have you been? The shareholders were just asking about you just now, and I said that you have been working hard for the company these days. They should let you rest. Now that you are back, I need to talk to you about the company.”
“Thank you for putting in good words for me”
“You and Andrea should have a chat; I’ll go back to the room to rest first.”
“Let me push you back”
“No, thanks, I can push myself back.”
Rex pushed himself towards the elevator, leaving Ariel’s hand hanging mid-way.
Andrea glanced at Rex and scoffed,
“What’s wrong with the young master?”
Anyone could tell that Rex Anderson was in a bad mood.
“Nothing, it’s not like you don’t know him.”
Of course, she’s well aware of the relationship between Anderson’s as a whole.
Andrea Anderson sat across Ariel Ann. He leaned forward, his eyes locking onto Ariel’s, his jaws set in determination and his hands clasped together.
“Father called for an emergency meeting because the contract has been drawn up. But the other party want to renegotiate it” Andrea said with a frown, his voice barely above a whisper, while Ariel’s expression turned thoughtful.
“This is something that usually happens when the price of goods suddenly rises. I’m not surprised that they would ask for it.”
Andrea’s eyebrows furrowed.
“But the cooperation has already been agreed upon; it’s just that they have no credibility at all! They can’t just do things their way.”
“Must we cooperate with them?”
Faced with her question, Andrea Anderson shrugged. “The Company needs this batch of goods, so cooperation is a must.”
Ariel’s hand animated her words, “Since it’s necessary to cooperate with them, I’d say we should lower our cost to the minimum.”
Andrea’s eyes shot up, his eyes sparkled with curiosity. He nodded vigorously, intrigued as Ariel explained to him a detailed business plan.
“Leave the matter to me; I will discuss it with them tomorrow, since I’m usually the best at negotiation.”
Andrea nodded. “Okay, the time to test your ability is finally here. Don’t let down the company!”
Ariel Ann made an OK gesture. “Alright, Manager Anderson, if there’s nothing else, I’ll go back to my room first. I have a lot to deal with tomorrow.
“Alright” After Andrea finished speaking, he added “why don’t you ask or talk about my ex-girlfriend?”
Ariel paused in her track “Am I supposed to know more about her? I don’t have the habit of poking my nose into other peoples’ business”
She walked back to their bedroom and closed the door. Rex Anderson had already had his shower.
She took a deep breath and sat down by the bed.
Memories of how Rex Anderson sat by the tombstone all through the night by himself came flooding to her. She had an indescribable feeling in her heart.
The devil must have been lonely and lacking in love. if there was no darkness in his life, he was a lively and talkative person!
Sighing, Ariel Ann rubbed her glabellas’.
“Mrs. Anderson, what’s eating you up?”
Rex Anderson happened to hear sighing. Immediately he stepped out of the bathroom.
Ariel Ann raised her head and narrowed her eyes with a smile. “I’m just worried about the company’s affairs, nothing much,” she lied through her teeth. “Since you’re done I’ll just go and take a shower.”
She gets up and dashes to the bathroom. Rex Anderson frowned as he watched Ariel walk into the bathroom.
The words that she spoke to him at the tombstone resonated through his mind.
However, it was only for a fleeting second, and he immediately kicked it out of his mind.
Foolish girl, what did you know? You don’t understand anything.
He dressed up ready to wheel himself to the study room; but he was stopped by old Madam Anderson.
“You came back from the grave site not long ago, and now you’re heading to the study room! What are you going to read that cannot wait for you to take a rest?”
“Finance Books” Rex Anderson smiled “Grandma, Ariel has just joined the company, and she’s busy dealing with a lot of things. I have to help her a lot out behind the scenes.”
“If the work is getting too hard on her, let her quit. Her marrying into Anderson’s family is not to become the vice president. It was to let you have a family that will inherit the Andersons. The least you could do is to give me a grandchild as soon s possible, so I could hug him/her to sleep. I’m getting old.”
Rex Anderson looked at his grandma stunned. He never imagined she would bring up such a topic.
“Grandma, we are working hard. Very soon you will carry your grandchild”
“The doctor told me it’ll be hard for a woman to get pregnant if she’s under a lot of pressure. I feel like if she withdrew from the company or better still work from home so she could concentrate on giving me a grandchild!”
“Grandma, Ariel is working hard at the company. How could I tell her to quit?”
As soon as he finished speaking, Brenda Anderson walked in with her children Claudia and Dana with the maids dragging their luggage behind them.
Rex Anderson frowned, he was aware they would be coming back today, leaving his uncle behind.
“Mother, we’re back”. The old Madam turned to look at the people behind her with a frown.
“Let the young people do their things, I feel this girl, what’s her name Ari…” Brenda trailed off as she stared at Rex who quietly sat on his wheelchair.
“Mom, that girl’s name is Ariel Ann” Claudia said, her voice heavily laced with mockery.
“Oh yes, Ariel Ann. She’s pretty good at acting as the vice president! Recently, hardworking son Andrea has been working very well with my husband, so mother, you don’t have to worry about them.
Brenda hooked her hand into the old madam’s hand. “Mother, you see there’s no need to rush them into having babies now, it’ll naturally happen. Besides, it’s not that there’s something wrong with their bodies”. She sighed and looked at Rex’s lower body “it’s just that it’s inconvenient for Rex’s body since he’s wheelchair bound, so don’t make it difficult for them” Dana and Claudia giggle at their mother’s words.
“Mother, come let me show you the gift we brought for you from Dubai.” With that being said, she left with the Old Madam.
Rex Anderson smirked coldly and, of course, he understood every word that came out of Brenda’s mouth and so did the old madam.
The living room,
Brenda’s voice could be heard as she proudly showed off the gift she bought for old Madam Anderson with her children backing her up with the claim of how expensive and latest the gifts are.
However, old Madam Anderson quietly watches them like fools.
Meanwhile, after Ariel finished up with her work, she got up to go downstairs for lunch. Just as she was about to open the door, she heard a knock on her door. She opened it only to see a maid handling a porcelain bowl with a black liquid inside.
She was stunned. “What’s this?”
“The old Madam said you should drink it! She said it’s the medicine that will help you get pregnant as soon as possible”
“What!”
Ariel found it funny.
The old madam Anderson was already old, yet she still had to deal with this kind of thing. She even had to ask her to take medicine.
“Alright, give it to me.” Ariel collected the bowl and turned to the room.
However, the maid stopped her, saying “The Old Madam ordered you to drink it in my presence.”
Ariel blanked out, staring at the maids helplessly. She gulped down the medicine in one go, as the bitter taste invaded her taste. A very good plan flashed through her mind and she smiled evilly.
Even if I drank a hundred bowls of medicine daily, I would never get pregnant, no matter how many times Rex had sex with me, he knows his way around and would never fail. As for whether the medicine would help her to multiply with a single cell.
The maid left after she took the medicine.
