I can’t give up now

Book:Billionaire Exchange Wife Published:2025-2-8

The faint sound of jazz filled the air, Damian Ford sat quietly in a corner in a dimly lit bar. His gaze fixed on the woman by the door; Ariel was sitting and chatting with Maria, oblivious of his presence.
He took a sip of his whiskey, the bur of the alcohol making him wince. The pain Elvira Ann caused him flooded his mind.
I can’t give up now on the Ann company. After all I had done for that bitch,
A devious smile played on his lips. Damian Ford was convinced that Ariel Ann still loved him deep down and could never love another person. He was certain that she still harbored feelings for him. He saw this as an opportunity to exact revenge on the Ann family, especially Elvira, for breaking his heart. After all, Ariel was supposed to be the successor of Ann.
Ariel felt the familiar urge to use the restroom. Politely excusing herself from Maria, she made her way towards the back of the lounge where the restrooms were.
She froze in her tracks. There, standing in front of her was Damian Ford.
He looked different from the last time she saw him. His once chiseled features were now haggard and worn, his eyes bloodshot and glazed over. Ariel could smell the alcohol on his breath as he stumbled to his feet and made his way towards her.
“Ariel,” he slurred, a lopsided smile on his face. “I didn’t expect to see you here.”
Ariel’s heart pounded in her chest as a rush of emotions flooded through her. Anger, sadness, confusion – all mixed together “I didn’t think I’d run into you either”
Ariel looked at him, taking in his disheveled appearance and the way he seemed to sway on his feet. She felt a tinge of satisfaction at seeing him in such a state. But mostly, she felt a sense of closure.
“Your sister and I are no longer seeing each other. That bitch not only end things with me but also killed our baby! Ariel you see it was you I loved it’s just that Elvira seduced me. Everything I said at the Ann about not loving is all a lie so Elvira will stop hurting you, you see I hate myself for not being able to take care of you.”
“I see,” she said her voice steady. “Well, it was nice seeing you, Damian. Take care”
With that, Ariel turned to walk past him, but he hugged her tightly.
“I know you can’t live without me, I know you’re still angry with me but I’m sorry. Come back to me” Ariel tried to wiggle herself out of his embrace but he hugged her tight.
She can’t live without me I know that she will soon give in.
“Damian Ford let go of me” Ariel tried to wiggle her way out of his embrace however she was no match for Damian’s Ford streght
“Each day my heart longs for you, just let me hold you in my hand for a sec.”
“Damian Ford, you scum tell that to Elvira Ann”
Rex Anderson, who had just entered the lounge; noticed a commotion ahead of them. As they got closer, Pius was horrified to see Ariel being forcefully held by a man who he recognized as her, Damian. Anger ignited within Rex as he wheeled himself closer to the scene.
“Young master, how many pieces would you like me to break his bone to?”
“I’ll handle it” Rex said coldly.
Damian Ford, you’re so bold to forcefully hug my wife, touching her with those filthy hands of yours. I alone can hurt my wife. You and everyone else involved in hurting her will die a slow yet painful death.
“Let her go, Damian Ford!” Rex shouted, his voice filled with a mixture of rage and desperation. Damian turned towards Rex, a smug grin on his face, clearly enjoying the distress he was causing.
“What are you going to do about it, cripple?” Damian taunted, tightening his grip on Ariel’s arm. Ariel looked at Rex, her eyes pleading for help.
Rex refused to back down. With a steely determination in his eyes, he wheeled himself forward, stopping just inches away from Damian. With a swift movement, Rex reached out and grabbed Damian’s wrist, using every strength to pry his fingers off Ariel.
Surprised by Rex’s tenacity, Damian stumbled backward, releasing Ariel from his grasp. Rex quickly wheeled himself between them, shielding Ariel from any further harm.
“Pius, take the young madam to the car” Rex said coldly.
“Yes, boss”. With that, Pius led Ariel to the car, leaving behind Rex and Damian.
