It was a warm evening; the sun was setting in the horizon, creating a stunning display of orange, pink and purple hues in the sky. The air was filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the gentle sound of birds singing their final melodies of the day.
A soft breeze rustled through the trees, causing the leaves to dance, and the wind chimes to sing. The atmosphere was calm and tranquil, providing a perfect setting for a beautiful evening.
As the sky gradually turned into a deep shade of blue, the stars began to twinkle and the moon emerged, casting a soft glow over everything. The air was filled with a sense of serenity and magic.
Elvira Ann had just stepped out of her car and the sight that greeted her was a hall transformed into a romantic paradise with the delicate scent of fresh rose petals filling the air. Every corner was adorned with beautiful blooms, creating a dreamy and intimate atmosphere.
At the entrance, a trail of rose petals led the way inside, inviting her to step into a world of love and romance. She glances at the walls adorned with strings of fairy lights and cascading ribbon, giving the hall a soft and ethereal glow.
As Elvira Ann entered the hall, Damian’s breath caught in his throat. He couldn’t believe his luck, to have such a stunning woman by his side. His heart swelled with pride as he took in every detail of her appearance. He couldn’t help but feel his heart race with excitement, and he had planned this date to let her know how special she was to him.
Her long, dark hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, framing her delicate features. The dress she wore hugged her curves in all the right places, accentuating her natural beauty. The deep, rich color of the fabric made her skin glow, and he couldn’t tear his eyes away.
He couldn’t help but smile, feeling like the luckiest man in the world. She was his everything, his rock, his confidant. And here she was, looking more beautiful than ever.
As she approached the table, he stood up and pulled out a chair, gesturing to her to sit as he reached out to take her hand, but she withdrew it. He looked at her, confused and hurt. ‘What’s wrong?’ he asked sweetly.
Elvira Ann looked away, her gaze fixed on something in the distance.
“I’ve been working hard lately, coupled with the fact that I lost a lot of blood” she said coldly, her voice laced with sadness.
Damian’s heart tightened at the thought of their baby.
The couple sat facing each other in silence. The warmth that once filled the room seemed to have disappeared, leaving behind an icy chill. Elvira Ann’s expression was cold and distant, her arms crossed over her chest as she avoided eye contact with Damian.
He tried to break the tension by making small talk, but she responded with short monosyllabic answers. Damian could feel her pulling away from him, and it filled him with a sense of dread.
“Babe, what’s wrong?’ he finally asked, unable to take the silence any longer.
You’ve kept me at arm’s length for a long time.”
She let out a heavy sigh before finally meeting his gaze.
‘I can’t do this anymore,’ she said, her voice devoid of any emotion.
“Did mother bully you?” Damian asked as he scrutinizes Elvira Ann.
“Lets break up”
Damian looked at Elvira shocked and wondered if he heard her right.
“Babe, what are you talking about? It’s a prank, right?”
“Lets break up for real!”
“Babe stop, this is not funny.” “It’s a prank, right? You got me”
“I thought I was in love with you, but it was just a lie. I wanted it to work, but unfortunately, I feel nothing.”
“What are you saying? ” Damian stuttered as he couldn’t believe what he had just heard ‘Wait…. what? You’re not joking, are you?’
He smiled at Elvira Ann as he held her wrist across the table.
“Damian Ford, let’s end this” his smile faded and he felt his heart sink. ‘But we can work through our problems, can’t we? I love you and I don’t want to lose you,’ he pleaded.
“You know nothing about me, okay? You don’t even know me. The fact that matters is there is someone I love for the very first time in my life. You don’t even compare to him.”
“No, I don’t believe you.” Tears welled up in his eyes.
“I don’t know how to make it any clearer to you, you mean nothing to me. You were nothing, nothing.”
Elvira Ann looked at Damian, whose tears were streaming down his eyes with contempt.
Why did I get myself entangled with such a man, Damian Ford? He’s not a match for Rex Anderson. At the thought of Rex Anderson, Elvira blushed lightly.
“Damian Ford, just take a look at yourself, are you even a man? You don’t compare to the man I love. You’re just a looser who would stoop so low just to have a relationship with somebody like me the favorite daughter of Ann family”
“Elvira stop it”
“Oh really, now I’m crazy, right is that the point?”
“Wrong, you’re not crazy, and you do love me. That’s the point, Elvira.”
“But I don’t, I hate you, you were just someone who made me laugh and take care of me when needed. That’s the side of you that I love.” she said, her face contorted with rage.
Seeing her all worked up, Damian tried to hug her, but she bit back at him.
“If you come any closer, you touch me or anything, I’ll scream”
“Come on, stop this Elvira, this is not you.”
“This is me”
“You put me in the position where I have to defend you again and again, where I have to bend my morals, where I have to go against every good thing that I believe in again and again because I love you and”
“Damian Ford. stop loving me. I didn’t force you to do all that, you presented yourself as the man for the job.”
“I can’t”
“Well, that’s your problem. Things ain’t going to work out. The baby is gone, this has to end. You’re not nearly as important as you think you are!”
“Elvira please, see I prepared all this for you”. In a moment of desperation, Damian pulled her close and hugged her tightly, burying his face in her hair.
“I can’t lose you, Babe. Please don’t leave me”, he leaned in to kiss Elvira. But just as their lips were about to touch, Elvira pushed him away.
“No Damian Ford, you can’t just kiss me and hope it will make me change my mind. No, it doesn’t work that way, it wouldn’t make me feel better. Okay, I think I should go now.”
“Elvira baby, you said it the last time that there was nothing so big that we couldn’t work past it together.”
“Let go”
“Look, look baby, there’s got to be a way we can work past this. Okay.
I can’t imagine my life without you, you know? Without my head on your lap, without your arms wrapped around my body, and your fac.. your bea… iful face”
“Just stay away from me.” Elvira said as she picked up her bag.
Damian stared blankly at the door until Elvira’s shadow disappeared. His heart felt heavy, and his mind was filled with a whirlwind of emotions,
He couldn’t believe it had happened. The girl he loved, his plan to take over Ann, his efforts had just been flushed down the drain, the pain was overwhelming and he couldn’t process it.
