Chapter 15: Get Rid of of that Thing

Book:Billionaire Exchange Wife Published:2025-2-8

Coming out of the elevator onto the fifth floor, Rex located the lounge room number where Jacobs’s girlfriend’s party was being held effortlessly. The joy of the building was that it was soundproof and the furniture used in the decoration of the building and room was the finest piece, it had all the latest technology, every item used in decorating the hotel was top notch.
There were two hefty bodyguards at the door of the lounge. They both greeted Rex and then one of them opened the door for him. The VIP lounge was very big so that it could accommodate forty guests. The room was already filled with people, most were seated eating, drinking and having conversation. Most were standing in different parts of the room and only a few were dancing to the solemn music, since it is kind of boring to dance to for most people.
The moment Rex stepped in and saw the crowded place he knew he wasn’t going to stay there for a long time because he hated crowded places. He could already feel seductive eyes on him but, as the type of man he was, he ignored those eyes; he looked around trying to spot Jacob and his girlfriend, Amelia the celebrant.
At the sight of Jacob, Rex heaved a sigh of relief. Jacob waved to him with a smile on his face and then called for his girlfriend’s attention. They held each other’s hands as they approached Rex.
“My sweetheart was already worried that you wouldn’t show up. But I told her you wouldn’t dare if you still wanted to live! Thanks for coming, bro.” Jacob pulled Rex into a hug and he chuckled, returning the hug.
“Happy birthday, I’m happy seeing you two together. Amelia, you are the best thing that has happened to my friend. Thank you for making him the happiest man on earth.” Rex wished her a happy birthday from an arm-length.
“Thank you Jason” she smiled as he stretched her hand for a handshake with the man.
“Saying I’m glad you could make it would be an understatement, now that you are here, where’s my present?” she playfully glared at him after withdrawing her hand from his.
Rex stared coldly at Jacob, who shrugged. He put his hand in his back pocket and took out two tickets and handed them” and here is your gift.
Amelia’s eyes opened wide, seeing the ticket in her hand.
“An all-expense paid trip to Dubai”
“It wasn’t even our honeymoon yet you are sending us away!” Jacob said.
“See who is talking about honeymoon when he hasn’t even proposed yet! Amelia rolled her eyes, earning a chuckle from Rex.
“Oh, sweetheart, you know I will surely do that and I bet you won’t even see it coming.”
“Hump, whatever, just hope another guy doesn’t steal me away from you”
“Babe, he wouldn’t dare. Did he want to die a painful death? You’re mine, mine alone” he wrapped his arm around Amelia’s waist and held to her possessively.
Rex smiled at the lovers in front of him. He is happy for them because they have always been a perfect match.
“Jason, thank you so much for the gift,” Amelia said.
He smiled “don’t mention it.”
Amelia nodded with a smile. “I just hope you will fulfill my wish soon.”
Rex looked at her confused. “Your wish?”
“Yes! I hope you get yourself a girl as I can’t wait to go on double dates, vacation and all of that.”
“Amelia!” Rex grumbled.
“Yes, Jason, it’s high time you got yourself a girlfriend. Babe, don’t you also think so?”Amelia looked at Jacob with a glared.
Jacob nodded. “I don’t know why I feel like I have a duty to find him a girl since I met my love through him.”
Rex rolled his eyes. He did meet Amelia first, but unfortunately it wasn’t a pleasant meeting. They weren’t friends but sworn enemies. They had both bashed into each other’s car that day on the highway and they were both strong-headed. Neither was willing to accept the blame or even apologize to the other person. They had almost dragged each other to court over a trivial matter and that was when Jacob intervened as a hero, but unfortunately, she happened to be a friend to Pius.
“Guys, seriously? You two telling me all the time to get a girl is tiring me out” Remembering Ariel at home, Rex chuckled “Women are too hard to handled”
“Yeah, I used to say the same thing before I met Amelia. I bet it with you it was just because you haven’t met someone that will sweep you off your feet.”
“I agree!” Amelia said.
I’m married already and she has indeed swept me off my feet. Rex thought, but he wouldn’t tell them that “You are both being extra, I’m fine with myself.”
Amelia shook her head in frustration, knowing the guy wouldn’t listen.
“No human being on earth deserves to be a loner, especially a guy like you, Jason, you are a nice guy. Let me introduce you to some of my friends that are here. If you don’t like any of them, I will set up a date for you with my other friends, and go for anyone you like here. They are all good people. You will surely like them when you meet them, I promise.”
Handling the tickets to Jacob, Amelia reached for Rex’s hand and, without giving him the opportunity to say a word, she dragged him to where her friends were. “I promise you will love them once you meet them. They are my girlfriends.”
Rex was dragged towards the girls.
“Hey girlfriends, meet my friend Jason, he’s a nice guy.”
“Hi Jason”
“Hello Jason”
“You are handsome Jason.”
One hour later. After several excuses, Rex still couldn’t escape from the so-called introduction. Amelia had introduced him to about ten of her friends and some were keeping him company, drooling over him. They all try to make funny conversation but they were obviously throwing themselves at Rex, which get him irritated. He hates these types of women the most. The Rex Anderson in him manifested. He stood and he found a less crowded area and settled on the couch. Beside him was a table that was filled with drink. He poured himself a glass, took slow sips and kept himself company with the view before him.
Everyone was enjoying themselves. Most of them were on their feet dancing to the not-so loud dj mix.
Meanwhile, in the same hotel in one of the rooms, a good-looking woman in her thirties was holding a glass of wine in her hand and she was carefully sipping it. She’s was Elvira’s manager, Vivian Derrick.
The sound of vomit could be heard coming from the bathroom. She looked in the direction of the bathroom and shook her head with irritation, but she pasted a fake smile on her face, making it impossible to read what she had in her mind. With the sound of the flushed toilet, Elvira came out of the bathroom with a slightly pale face.
“Elvira, when exactly did you plan to get rid of that thing in your belly?”
Elvira sat down on the sofa and drew a tissue to wipe the water stains on the corner of her mouth.
“Now is not the time” she replied.
“Look, you said you wanted to make your debut in the film industry and not just be a model. I’ve got several films lined up for you to choose from and how are you going to meet the director looking this pale? I personally wouldn’t touch you if I were a man seeing you like this. You can’t go on like this” Vivian picked up the document she dropped on the table and waved it in front of Elvira.
“This film that I have picked for you is a big production. The director of the film has made several actresses famous, so you have to get hold of yourself and seize the opportunity.”
“Subconsciously Elvira touched her belly, “, will it be a problem if I secured the role first and start filming the baby is not more than two months. It would be no problem to wait till after shooting to get rid of it, right?”
Vivian gave Elvira a glance, “this film will be shot for two months straight. It would have been fine if it was some romantic drama where you act like a homemaker, but it so happens to be that your role in it was the female lead. There are a lot of many hanging wire scenes and fighting scenes. I can help you conceal your pregnancy, but what if the director knows you are pregnant? You certainly will be changed and our meeting this night all our efforts will be fruitless. Don’t forget we invested a lot of energy into this film. We can’t afford to miss this opportunity.”
Elvira sigh “I understand.”
“Elvira, you see I’m very happy for you that you and Damien are together, but your career as an actress is on the rise and once you marry Damien it will help you gain some exposure as it did the last time just for a period of time, don’t forget the hard work you put in to get him use his fame as the young master of the Ford, but you see we can’t always hype your career with Damien as people will soon get tired, in the end you see you must have some substantial work!”
Elvira shook her head in understanding.
“As soon as the wedding is over, you should do the needful and join the crew. By then you should ask him to pay you several visits to the shooting location so we can arrange a few press interviews with the crew. That will help you to be in the spotlight until the film is released. You will surely be a hit?
Seeing Elvira pondering over her words, she patted the back of her hands, “Elvira, I know what you have done to get Damien and we both know you can only maintain the status of the first miss of the Ann by your fame. You see men are not reliable, so we need to rely on ourselves.
“Thank you Vivian, I understand more than you think.” Finished, saying that she fished out her makeup and retouched her makeup.
“Then I will let you decide. And, of course, the perfect result is that you have succeeded in your love life and now it’s your career.”
Elvira nodded her head, her palm covering her belly, “I have to find the best timing for this child. As the Ford now knows, I’m carrying their heir.” As the two were talking, Vivian phone ranged sharply and seeing the number on the screen. She smiled.
