A FEW YEARS BACK
Nadia groaned in pain as tried to run away from the man hitting her. She fell to the floor and held her arm.
“Get up, bitch!” He cursed at her and pulled her up, she whimpered in pain as he hit her again.
She cried and fell to the door, she spat out blood from her mouth and breathed heavily.
“I said get up.” He yelled and kicked her on her stomach, she yelled in pain and wrapped her arms around herself.
“Enough!” They heard a voice yell as the man was about to hit her again. The man walked away and a middle-aged Russian lady walked towards her.
Nadia crawled in fear and pain, she got to the wall and leaned on it. She cried in pain as the woman walked to her.
She stood in front of Nadia, holding a gun.
“You are weak.” She said.
“This is nothing compared to what is coming from you and you are already giving up. Tch.” She said again and kissed her teeth.
She suddenly lifted the gun and Nadia’s eyes widened in shock.
“What? No. Don’t shoot me, please.” She cried in fear.
“It’s okay, you’ll heal but you will get stronger.” The woman replied and pulled the trigger.

PRESENT
Axel walked down the stairs tiredly, he was dressed for work and ready to leave.
He was still so down about his warehouses and searching for who was behind it but he had to keep the company running.
That was his only hope at the moment.
He got to the living room and met his kids watching television, they had breakfast already.
“Hey.” He called and they both turned to him. They stared at him and noticed he looked down, it made them worry.
“Dad, are you okay?” Kender asked and he nodded in response.
“Go grab your jackets. You guys are coming with me to work.” He ordered and they both nodded.
“I will go get it, wait.” Kendra said to her brother and rushed upstairs.
Axel sighed and ran his hand through his hair, he was so mad and frustrated. He badly wanted to know who was behind his warehouses blowing up.
He decided to take his kids with him to work because they would be safer with him there. He had no idea who he was dealing with but he was sure the person was dangerous.
He doesn’t want any harm to come towards his kids.
“Dad,” Kender called and walked to him.
“Is everything okay? You look so down.” Kender said and forced a smile.
“If it’s about the way I have been then I am sorry.” He apologised and Axel ruffled his hair.
“I’m fine.” He smiled at him.
Kendra walked down the stairs with their jackets and handed Kender’s own to him. They put it on and they all walked out together.
Axel drove and in minutes, they were at the company. The kids were excited as usual.
They got out of the car before Axel did and rushed in, as usual, they ran around happily.

Hours passed, and Axel had a lot to do. His kids were playing around while he worked. The landline suddenly rang and he picked it up.
“I’m sorry to bother you sir but there is this lady here to see you.”
“Who?” Axel asked.
“She said her name is Nadia Harris.” She replied and Axel’s heart skipped a beat. He felt a lot of emotions in seconds.
He was thinking he would solve the problem he was dealing with and then talk to her, he had no idea she would show up.
“Sir?” His receptionist called, noticing he was silent.
“Yeah, let her in.” He replied and dropped the telephone. He wondered where his kids were and he picked up his phone to call them.
He called Kendra but she wasn’t picking up. He decided to stay calm, Lily wouldn’t hurt her kids.
‘It’s Lily, Lily can’t hurt anybody or anything.’ He assured himself.
After a few minutes of waiting, the door to his office opened and she walked in with her head up high. Axel stood up from his seat and he stared at her. He was nervous.
He had a lot of questions for her. Like how did she survive? How did she become so rich? A lot!
She sighed and looked around the office before looking at him.
“Mr. Blackwell.” She called and walked closer to him. She got to his table and sat opposite him but Axel didn’t sit. He just kept staring.
“Aren’t you going to sit and let’s talk? Or am I making you uncomfortable?” She asked as she relaxed in his seat.
Axel sat and she smiled at him.
“Lily… ” He trailed off as she gave him a look.
“Sorry. Nadia. I have a lot to say… ”
“Hold on.” She cut him off with a smile.
“Before we get to that, I have to go straight to the point and talk about why I am here.”
“Okay?”
“You are going broke, I want my kids back because you can’t take care of them anymore.” She said and Axel raised his brows confused.
“Huh?”
“Your warehouses. I made sure I blew everything up so I know you are going broke.” She replied and Axel’s eyes widened in shock.
“What? That was you?”
“Yes. I am not denying it.” She replied with a smile. Axel was speechless. He couldn’t understand how he was feeling.
“How… how? Wha…. what?” He stuttered.
“Oh, I guess you don’t know.” She chuckled.
“There is a reason I have a Russian name. I am with them now and you stole those warehouses from them and all I did was get revenge for them. Shocking right?” She chuckled.
“You are not saying anything?” She asked.
“Well, if you don’t mind, I want my children back. And I am going to be doing a proper introduction to them.”
Axel was about to respond when the door opened and their kids rushed in. Nadia turned to them and they gasped as they saw her.
“Wow, Nadia is here!” Kender said happily as they both ran towards her.
“Wow, it’s so good to see you. We haven’t seen you since the night of the ball. Are you here to make a business deal with our dad?” Kendra asked and she turned to Axel.
“We are making a deal? Right, Axel?” She asked.
“Don’t. Don’t do it, I will… ”
“You have ten seconds or I will.” She cut him off and his heart raced. He was scared for his kids to find out she was their mother.
“Do what?” Kender asked with a smile.
“Don’t do it. We can talk about this.”
“Time up.” She replied and looked at the kids.
“I am… ”
“Lily!” Axel yelled and stood up. His kids flinched in fear.
“You scared them.” She scoffed and rolled her eyes.
Axel walked to his kids and pulled them away from her, she also stood up and groaned.
“Can we not do this the hard way? Give them back.” She said.
“What? What is going on?” Kendra asked, seeing how serious the situation looked.
“Wait, did you just call her Lily?” Kender asked and Axel muttered curse words. He really didn’t want them to find out in a bad way.
“Tell them or I would.” Nadia said and Axel glared at her. He wasn’t saying anything and she spoke up.
“She… she’s our mum?” Kendra stuttered and Axel groaned. Nadia smiled.
“That’s my girl. You are so smart, come give mummy a hug.”
