Talking

“Hi, Lily.” Max called.
He was about to speak again when she slammed the door in their faces. It was so loud that her kids flinched.
“Great. She hates us.” Max said.
“Lily, who are they?” Gavin asked as she paced.
“It’s Axel and his friend.” She replied and Gavin raised his brows. That explains why he looked familiar.
“How did he find me? Why is he here? What does he want?” She asked worriedly as she dropped her daughter.
“Hey, hey. Calm down.” Gavin replied and also dropped Kender next to his sister. He held Lily’s shoulders and tried to calm her. She looked so worried that tears were already welling up in her eyes.
“I will handle this, okay?” He assured her and she nodded in response. They heard the doorbell ring again and Lily exhaled nervously.
She knew Axel so well, he would never let her be now that he knew where she was.
Gavin let go of Lily and walked to the door, he opened it and walked out then closed it immediately. He stared at Axel and Max, waiting for them to say something.
Max was about to speak but Axel beat him to it.
“Hey, can you get Lily?” He asked and Max sighed.
“And you ruined it. Listen, let me do the talking.” Max said.
“Then fucking get on with it.” Axel replied and Max glared at him before turning to Gavin.
“We are… ”
“I know who you guys are.” Gavin cut them off.
“Okay. Please, we would like to see Lily.”
“She doesn’t want to see anyone.”
“We didn’t hear her say… ”
“Don’t say anything.” Max cut Axel off and he exhaled heavily. He was getting so impatient and wanted to just go in and see her.
“Can you please talk to her? We would appreciate that.”
“Oh, fuck that.” Axel scoffed and moved closer to the door, in a flash, he opened it and walked into the house. Lily froze as she saw him.
“Hey, I didn’t say you could go in.” Gavin said and walked into the house with Max.
Gavin walked to Lily and held her hand, Axel stared at their locked hands before looking up at her.
With every strength Lily had, she hid her emotions and put on a stern look.
Max, on the other hand, kept staring at the kids crawling around and playing. Kender crawled to him and giggled as he played with the tip of his pants.
“Dude, is it just me or does this kid look so much like you?” Max asked as he carried Kender. Axel looked at him and furrowed his brows before turning to Lily.
She let go of Gavin and walked to Max, she carried her son from him and was about to walk back to Gavin but Axel held her hand.
“Lily… ” She trailed off as she jerked her hand away from him. Gavin also carried Kendra and stood next to Lily.
“If you want to speak to me, you have to ask my husband first.” Lily said and Gavin looked at her. He was surprised, he wasn’t expecting that.
“You got married?” Axel asked.
“Didn’t you?” She asked back.
“Look, you guys have to leave or I will call the cops.” Gavin said.
“I am not leaving. Lily, I have to talk to you.” Axel said sternly and Lily scoffed.
“Get out.” She ordered.
“I will call the cops.” Gavin added.
“I… ”
“We know no one in Florida. I think we should leave.” Max said as Axel was about to speak.
He clenched his jaw as he resisted the urge to do something irrational, he walked out and Max smiled at Lily before walking out too.
She rushed to the door and locked it before sighing in relief. She was glad he left, a lot could have gone wrong.
“It is okay, they are gone.” Gavin said to Lily and she shook her head.
“It’s Axel. He will be back.”

Max kept glancing at Axel as he drove, he kept running his hand through his hair, it was obvious he was thinking about Lily.
“I am guessing we are not going to be doing what we actually came here for.”
“Yes.” Axel replied and Max sighed.
“Great.”
“You know, if you want to talk to her, for once I think you should let down your ego and talk to her husband like she said.” Max suggested and Axel turned to him.
“You want me to talk to him? He fucking got her pregnant and now she has two kids for him. The only thing I feel like doing to him is putting a fucking bullet in his head.” He said angrily. Max chuckled and shook his head.
“What? What is so funny?”
“Nothing.”
“What?” Axel raised his voice.
“Chill dude. The boy looks so much like you, it’s so obvious. I don’t know about the girl because I didn’t take a look at her but I can bet the boy is yours.”
Axel became quiet as he felt his heart start to race, he has a son? But how is that possible? Lily wasn’t pregnant before she left. He confirmed it, and Dr. Gerad did too.

THE NEXT DAY
“Please don’t go to work.” Lily pleaded with Gavin for the umpteenth time as he was about to walk out of the house.
“I already told you, Lily. I have to go today, I have an important board meeting I can’t miss. I already assured you that he can’t come here to hurt you, there are twenty guards outside.” He replied and Lily groaned.
She wasn’t worried about herself, she was worried about him. She was scared Axel would hurt him.
“This is not about me. It’s about you, he can’t hurt me but he can hurt you. It’s Axel, I know him so well, he once shot a man because he held my hand, I told him you are my husband. I am so sure all he wants to do is kill you.” Lily replied worriedly and Gavin smiled at her.
“I will be fine, Lily. Take care of the kids.” He said and kissed her cheeks then walked out of the house before she could say anything.
She sighed and sat on the couch, she started to mutter prayers and hoped Gavin would return home safely.
Gavin drove to work himself and ignored Lily’s suggestions of him taking guards with him. He didn’t feel threatened, he wasn’t scared.
To him, Axel was too hyped and worshipped, he is just a human who can handle guns perfectly. Not God.
He arrived at his company and walked out of his car. He could have stayed home on a normal day but he had an important meeting with someone who could make him become a billionaire. His best investor.
He walked into his company and his employees bowed at him, he got into the elevator and pressed the button to the last floor.
However he noticed something odd, his personal assistant wasn’t at the door to welcome him. He shrugged it off and waited for the elevator to open.
After a few more seconds, it did and he stepped out.
In seconds, he was in front of his office and walked in. He froze when he saw Axel seated in his seat with his legs crossed on his table. He had a lighter in his hand and he kept flicking it.
“Hello Gavin, I hope you don’t mind. I let myself in.” Axel said and looked up at him.
Gavin felt his heart race but he tried to stay cool, he wondered how he got in. Didn’t anyone see him?
He hurriedly brought out his phone to call the cops.
“I wouldn’t do that. I kind of made friends with the cops here overnight. They were nice.” He said and Gavin breathed out heavily.
“If you kill me, it won’t end well for you.” Gavin threatened, he was bluffing but he tried his best to see if he could scare him.
“Oh, please. Don’t be dramatic, if I wanted you dead you could have died before this morning.”
Gavin stared at him with his hands trembling slightly, who the hell did he think he was?
“Oh, one more thing. I hope you don’t mind that your board meeting was cancelled. I think it is because one of your investors died. It’s so sad, I heard you were this close to becoming a billionaire.” Axel said and played with the lighter in his hand.
He suddenly stood up and Gavin froze in fear, he walked towards him and stopped when he was a few steps from him.
“You have my Lilyana, Gavin. Sit, let’s talk.”
