MONTHS LATER
NEW YORK CITY
“Axel!” Max called excitedly as he walked into his office, Axel stared at him and rolled his eyes as he walked towards him.
“What?” He asked as Max took a seat opposite him with a wide smile on his face.
“I just got us a new deal.” Max said and Axel raised his brows and then sat up. He urged him to go on as he got interested.
“We have got a deal in Florida.” He added and Axel drew his brows together.
“Florida? Why Florida? What business do we have there?” He asked.
“Well, according to the new update, there is a new crime boss in Florida and he is looking for investment all over, especially in New York City. I booked a meeting with him and he agreed to meet us. I asked him to come down to New York but he said he couldn’t, then he said if we would come to him, we are getting a higher percentage of the deal.” Max explained with a smile.
Axel nodded as he tried to think about it, it was a good deal. But Florida seemed so far away.
“So when are we meeting him?” He asked.
“Whenever you are ready.” Max replied and he nodded.
“We will leave tomorrow then.” Axel said and Max raised his brows. That was earlier than he thought.
“Why?” He asked.
“I am trying to get away from Malia. I kind of need a little vacation.” He said and Max chuckled.
“Then we travel tomorrow.”

FLORIDA
“Hey, it’s okay. Don’t cry.” Lily whispered to her son as she tried to stop him from crying, it was noon and she needed him to sleep a little so she could get some rest and make dinner for Gavin.
She glanced at his sister who was sleeping peacefully, Lily was glad she didn’t stress her as much as her brother does.
The past few months have been a little bit hard for her but Gavin has been three. He has always been there for her.
The first two months after she gave birth, Gavin took a long break from work just to help her take care of the kids, Lily was glad but at the same time, she felt bad.
He was doing a lot for her and she had nothing to pay him back with. He has really been the best.
He treats her kids like his own, he gets them everything they need and covers up their bills. Gavin is such a wonderful person.
Lily glanced at the time and exhaled heavily, Gavin would be home soon and she hadn’t made dinner yet. She was worried he would have had a long day and his dinner wasn’t ready yet.
All she needed to do was get him to sleep. Minutes passed with her still trying and the door to the living room opened, Gavin walked in with a wide smile on his face.
“These are my favourite people.” He said as he walked towards them, he pulled Lily into a hug and carried her son from her. Immediately, he stopped crying. Lily shook her head with a smile.
“Hey, Kender.” He called softly and kissed his cheeks. Lily watched with a wide smile on her face but it slowly faded when she recalled she hadn’t made dinner for him.
Gavin noticed the look on her face and he raised his brows.
“Hey, is something wrong?” He asked.
“Yeah. I’m sorry I haven’t made dinner yet, I was trying to get Kender to sleep first.” She apologised and Gavin rolled his eyes.
“Oh, come on. It is fine. I will take care of him and you can prepare dinner now.” He said and Lily smiled.
“Thank you.” She grinned and kissed his cheeks before walking towards the kitchen.
“You are coming with me.” Gavin whispered to Kender and he giggled happily.
Minutes passed with Lily still in the kitchen. Gavin walked into it with Kender giggling in his arms.
Lily turned to them with a smile.
“Just a few minutes more.” She said before turning back to the meal she was making.
“No problem.” Gavin replied and leaned on the counter, he watched Lily.
“Hey, Lily.” He called and Lily turned to him with a smile.
“Hmm?”
“For the past few months you have been at home and you haven’t done anything fun. I was thinking we could go out tomorrow and have fun.” Gavin said and she thought about it.
“What about the kids? Are we going with them?”
“No. My personal assistant will babysit them, it would be just for a few hours.” He replied and waited for her response again. She bit her lip like she was thinking about it and Gavin hoped she would agree. He just wanted to spend a day alone with her.
“What about the money you will spend… ”
“Oh my God, Lily, please. Don’t do that.” He cut her off and she chuckled.
“Okay then. We will go out tomorrow.” She said and he smiled happily. Kender made noises and Gavin looked down at him before lifting him.
“Did you hear that Kender? Your mum agreed to go out with me.” He said to him and he giggled like he understood what he was saying.
Out of the blue, Kendra started to cry and Lily groaned angrily, she was frustrated and lost focus on what she was doing.
She accidentally brushed her hand against the hot pot and she winced in pain. Gavin rushed to her and she turned away from him.
“Let me see it.” He said and she shook her head without turning to him. He could tell she was crying, it was pretty obvious.
“Hey, come on. Let me see it, Lily.” He moved closer to her and she slowly turned to him, he was right. She was crying.
Gavin looked at her and he slowly held her hand with his free hand as he carried Kender properly.
“Okay, it’s just a little burn. You are fine.” He said and she nodded in response. She sniffed and glanced at her son who had a smile on his face and was making cute sounds.
“Don’t worry, I will take care of Kendra too. You have nothing to worry about as long as I am with you.” He assured her and she nodded in response again. Gavin smiled at her before walking out of the kitchen.
Lily breathed out heavily and wiped her tears.
“Okay, let us get this over with.”
~
Gavin took in a deep breath and exhaled before walking into Lily’s room. He met her staring at her mirror and she looked lost in thoughts.
He walked closer to her and noticed she wasn’t aware of his presence. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around her waist and she flinched a little.
“It’s okay, it’s me.” He whispered and kissed her neck. Lily exhaled and smiled at him.
“I am ready.” She said and he stared at her outfit through the mirror.
It was a casual outfit but she looked so much like a model in it.
“You look so pretty.” He complimented. Lily smiled happily and giggled a little.
“And you look perfect.” She replied and turned to him. He stared down at her lips and tried his best to resist the urge to kiss her.
“Where are the kids?” Lily asked and he looked up at her eyes. It made things worse, her blue eyes were so beautiful he couldn’t stop staring at them.
Sometimes he wonders why her ex-husband hurt her, who hurts such a beautiful and innocent soul. She deserves nothing more than care and all the beautiful things in the world.
“Earth to Gavin.” She said pulling his cheeks and he chuckled.
“Sorry. They are downstairs with my assistant.
“Already?”
“Yes.” He replied and she pulled away from his grip.
“I have so much to tell her.” She said and grabbed a list she made on the bed then rushed out, Gavin smiled and trailed behind her.
She got downstairs and met Gavin’s assistant, she had Kendra in her arms.
“Good day, ma’am.” She greeted with a bow.
“Hey, thank you so much for doing this.” Lily said as she walked closer to her. Kender was sitting on the floor, playing.
Immediately he saw Lily, he stretched his arms to her and she carried him.
“Okay, so there are things you need to know.” She said as she moved closer to the lady.
“Okay, ma’am?”
“Kendra isn’t a problem. He is.” Lily said pointing at Kender and the assistant smiled.
“As long as you give her everything she needs, she will sleep for as long as she can but for him, you have to do a lot. Feed him, play with him, try to get him to sleep… ”
“I already explained it all to her.” Gavin cut Lily off as he walked closer to her. She sighed and nodded.
“That you Elizabeth.” Gavin said to his assistant and she smiled.
“Of course.” She replied and Lily slowly dropped Kender.
“Bye.” Lily said and waved to her kids before they walked out.
“So, where are we going?” Lily asked as they entered his car.
“You’ll see.”
