MONTHS LATER
“Hey, you good?” Lily heard a familiar voice ask and she turned to see him. He smiled and walked towards her as she leaned on the counter in the kitchen.
“Yes, I am fine.” She replied and smiled at him.
“Are you sure?” He asked as his eyes moved to her stomach.
“Hmm.” Lily moaned in response and breathed out heavily.
He got closer to her and he leaned closer to her then pecked her cheek. She smiled at him and he smiled back.
“How was your day?” She asked and he shrugged.
“Same as always.” He replied and looked around the kitchen.
“You know you really don’t have to make me a meal, you just need to rest.”
“I am always resting Gavin, the least I can do is make you a meal.” She replied and he chuckled.
“I am so lucky to have you in my life.” He said and she giggled in response.
“How was the doctor’s appointment today? Are the babies doing fine?” He asked and Lily nodded. She was pregnant with twins.
“Yes.” She replied.
“Okay, I will be back downstairs soon.” He said and smiled at her again before walking away.
Lily sighed and turned back to the meal she was preparing and hurried with it.
She didn’t want him to wait when he got back down, she wanted to make sure his meal was ready.
For the past months, she has always made sure she pleased Gavin, not that he asks her to do anything but she willingly does.
It’s the least she could do for him, he accommodated her despite being pregnant and he loved her so much.
She was sure he loved her, not because of the way he did but he had told her countless times that he does.
Lily felt lucky, she met someone good, she met a good man.
Her life has been going great for the past few months, ever since she left New York and relocated to Florida, it had been great.
She tried her best to bury what happened a few months ago, she could recall the hell she went through after she left Axel’s mansion.
It was hard, really hard for her but thank goodness she met Gavin.
She tried her best to get her mind off Axel, it was hard, so hard for her but she did. She was heartbroken when she found out he got married to Malia, she cried so much but of course, Gavin was there for her.
She knows she owes Gavin a lot and will forever be grateful to him. What would she have done without him? Where would she be?
“Hey.” She heard his voice and she turned to him, he was back but the meal wasn’t ready yet and she felt bad.
“I am so sorry your… ”
“Oh my God, Lily, stop.” He cut her off and laughed, he moved closer to her and stood next to her.
“Come on, I will help you with this.” He said and joined her in cooking the meal.
Minutes later, they were done cooking.
They were seated in the dining room and ate. Lily slowly got tired and she started to pick on her food.
It was something that happened often. It was more like a pregnancy thing. She always gets tired easily.
“Tired already?” Gavin asked and she nodded in response.
“It’s fine. I will feed you.” Gavin said and left his meal then moved closer to her. Lily tried to decline but he insisted, she knew there was no point arguing with him. He was going to do what he wanted anyway.
Lily smiled at him as he fed her.
She was so lucky to have Gavin!
