“Lilyana?” Lily asked.
“Yeah.” Axel replied.
“That was your password. What does Lilyana mean?”
“It’s just a twist to your name. I like it that way.” He replied and Lily chuckled when she recalled something. Back in Hawaii, she was trying so hard to guess his password, she had no idea it was her name.
“What’s funny?”
“Your password.” She chuckled.
“Your name is funny?” He asked and she shook her head in response.
“No, not my name. It being your password is funny.”
“Oh.” He muttered. They both went silent, both of them having different thoughts going on in their heads.
Axel looked at Lily, her head was bowed and she was playing with her fingers.
“Have you decided where we will be going for our vacation?” He spoke up and Lily looked up at him.
“You still want us to go?” She asked.
“Is there a reason we can’t go?”
“Yes. You are not feeling so good.” She replied and glanced at his wound.
“It’s nothing. I have been through worse.”
“But… ”
“Where did you decide you want us to go?” He cut her off and she sighed, she bit her lip and stared at her fingers before looking up at Axel again.
Every little move she made, Axel found it childish and cute. Everything about her is just so unique and different.
“Nora said… ” Lily paused as she noticed Axel furrowed his brows at the mention of Nora’s name.
“Sorry. I mean, I decided that we should go to Atlanta.”
“Atlanta?” Axel asked surprised. That was so random. Obviously, it wasn’t Lily who chose the country by herself, Lily had no clue of anything.
“Yes. I want us to go to Atlanta.” She replied.
“Why? What made you choose Atlanta?” Axel asked and she looked down at her fingers again. He could see her lips parting and closing as she thought of a response. Axel knew she had no response, he just wanted to hear what she had to say.
“Lilyana.” He called and she looked at him.
“I have always wanted to visit Atlanta. I have always loved the place since I was a kid.” She lied and Axel raised his brow. Great, his innocent wife is starting to tell lies.
“Really?” He asked and she nodded in response like a child.
“So, what you are saying is, you have known of Atlanta since you were a kid?”
“Yes. I had other countries too in mind but I just picked this one.” She lied further and Axel smirked.
The lies she was telling were obvious which made it funny. She was trying her best to lie but it’s all coming out wrongly.
“Lily, name five countries on this continent.” He ordered and her eyes widened a little.
“What?” She asked confusedly and Axel shook his head.
“You are a terrible liar. I know Nora picked the country for you. You already mentioned her name when I asked.”
“Oh.” She muttered in response.
“You can’t defend yourself.” Axel pointed out and she drew her brows together.
“Of course I can. I can defend myself.” She replied and Axel leaned closer to her, he moved so close this time that they were just inches apart. He felt a little pain by his side but he ignored it. It’s a pain he could handle.
“Really Lily? If you can defend yourself, can you defend me?” He asked with a low voice, his eyes piercing into hers. Lily stared back at him, she didn’t blink, neither did she look away.
Axel could tell his stare was intimidating, Lily was supposed to be intimidated by his stare but she wasn’t. Just like when they first met and every other time.
“It… it depends on what you did or what you need to be defended for.” She stuttered in response.
“Murder, Lilyana. Can you defend me for murder?” He asked softly.
It took her a few seconds before she responded, her blue eyes were glistening a little.
“Yes.” She whispered and Axel broke eye contact and pulled away from her.
She breathed out heavily and turned away from him. He decided not to question her anymore, he could tell that he was stressing her out with his questions.
“Very well then. We will be going to Atlanta.” He said and she turned to him with a smile.
“We will leave at night. You have the whole day to prepare.” He replied and she giggled and stood up from the couch happily.
“I will go tell Nora you said yes.” She giggled and clapped her hands before rushing out of the room.
Axel smirked and shook his head, he leaned comfortably and let out a groan as he felt a little pain.
Travelling wasn’t the best option at the moment but he would do anything for his Lilyana. Anything to make her happy.
************
Lily walked out of her room with a maid dragging her bag behind, she walked down the stairs happily. She got down the stairs and met Axel, Max, and Dr. Gerard in the living room.
The maid carrying Lily’s bag bowed at them before walking out.
“Are you ready?” Axel asked Lily and she nodded. He was fully dressed too which meant he was also ready.
“Good evening ma’am.” Dr. Gerard greeted and all Lily did was nod at him. She wasn’t really a fan of him, she doesn’t like him, neither does she hate him.
His presence reminds her of her abortion. She also wonders how he got his hands dirty by working with Axel and Max. She doubts if he is really a good doctor.
“Why is he here? Are you okay?” Lily asked Axel as she stood behind a couch. Axel was opposite her, he was sitting on a couch too with the doctor in front of him. Max was standing next to him.
“Yeah. He is just here to dress up the wound.” Axel replied. He could tell she was worried again, judging from the expression she had on when she asked if he was fine.
Dr. Gerard started to tend to the wound and Axel stared at Lily, her eyes were fixed on the wound and she kept looking bothered.
“Lily.” He called and she looked up at him. He wanted to distract her from it.
“Stare at me.” He ordered, knowing fully well that she would obey him.
Max glanced at both of them and had mixed feelings. If he wasn’t sure of the other emotion he was feeling, he was sure of one. Guilt.
The night at Mrs. Blackwell’s party, he told Lily Axel wasn’t good for her. He was feeling guilty for trying to stab his best friend in the back.
“All done sir.” Dr. Gerard announced and Lily looked down at the wound, Axel hurriedly pulled his shirt down and she sighed.
Her phone suddenly beeped and she looked at it, it was a text from Nora. She read it and looked up at Axel, he was already on his feet.
“Axel, I was wondering if Nora could come with us.” She said and Axel raised his brows.
“Why?” He asked and Lily’s phone beeped again. She looked at it and then at Axel.
“And Max too.” She added and Max put on a confused expression.
“Me?” Max asked.
“Why?”
“I was just thinking it would be more fun if they came with us. Please.” She pleaded and Axel looked at Max who shrugged his shoulders.
“Well, we are about to leave. Max isn’t ready and Nora isn’t here either.”
“I’m here.” Nora yelled and rushed into the living room. Axel kissed his teeth and rolled his eyes.
He should have known this would happen since Nora picked the country.
Lily is easily tricked into doing something.
Axel looked at his wife who had an innocent look on, she just did what she was asked. She can barely make a decision on her own.
“Fine.” Axel replied and Nora squealed, Lily also giggled which made Axel roll his eyes.
“I am coming too?” Max asked with a smile.
“Yes. I already had someone pack your bags, we will pick them up on our way to the airport.” Nora replied and Max chuckled.
Nora walked to Lily and placed her hand across her shoulder. With a wide smile on her face, she yelled out.
“Atlanta! Here we come!”
