After Axel drove away from the saloon, Lily thought it would be the end of their outing but Axel didn’t head back to the hotel.
“Axel.” Lily called when she noticed he wasn’t heading back to the hotel.
“Yeah?”
“Where are we going?” She asked.
“A restaurant. It’s past noon and we didn’t have breakfast.” He replied and Lily mouthed an ‘oh’
She realised she was hungry after all.
“Okay.” She muttered in response and looked out the window. She decided not to think about what conversation Axel was having with those ladies, he already assured her that he was not asking for their numbers.
She believed him and trusted him.
The drive to the restaurant was silent, no one said a word to each other. Axel pulled over in the parking lot and they both walked out together, Lily moved closer to him and held his hand.
Axel looked at her and she smiled at him.
“What?” She asked and he shook his head in response.
“Nothing.” He replied.
“Okay, let’s go.” She said and they both headed into the restaurant.
They got in and Axel looked around, the restaurant wasn’t crowded, just a few people seated.
He and Lily took a seat at a corner and a waiter walked to them.
“Good afternoon sir and ma’am, what would you like to have?” He asked and Axel stared at the menu.
“Your best meals.” He replied and dropped the menu.
“Okay, sir. Just a few minutes.” He replied and walked away.
Lily picked up the menu and stared at it, she saw how expensive their meals were and she looked up at Axel.
“Their best meals are too expensive.” She said and he shook his head.
“No, they are not.” He replied and Lily sighed. There was no point arguing with him, the meals might be expensive to her but to him, they were cheap.
Minutes passed and a couple of waiters brought the meals, they both started eating and Lily ate fast while Axel ate slowly and watched her. He just wanted to make sure she was okay and didn’t choke.
Lily suddenly felt pressed as she ate, she needed to use the restroom.
“I need to use the restroom.” She said and slowly stood up.
“Ask the waiter where… ”
“I can find my way.” She cut Axel off and walked away before he could say anything else.
The restaurant wasn’t so huge, Lily found the restroom in a minute. She did her routine and walked out of the restroom, she was a few steps away from their table when she noticed Axel talking to the waiter.
She thought it was a normal conversation but just like the other ladies Axel talked to at the saloon and the store, the waiter wrote down something on a piece of paper and handed it to Axel.
Lily walked to them and the waiter bowed and walked away as she got to them.
Lily gave Axel a look as she took her seat.
“Did you find the restroom?” He asked and she nodded in response.
“Okay.” He replied and continued with his meal.
“What were you discussing with the waiter? And what did he write down and hand to you?” Lily asked.
“It’s nothing. I just asked him where we can visit in Hawaii and he wrote down a few places for me.” He replied and Lily furrowed her brows. She wasn’t buying that, that was clearly a lie.
“Can I see it?” She asked and Axel shook his head.
“No, of course not.” He replied and looked away from her. Lily decided to let it go since he wasn’t opening up to her, although it was hard for her, but she decided not to ask him about it anymore.
They were done in the restaurant, Axel paid the bills and they both headed out.
“Where next?” Lily asked with a smile as they got to the car, she was anticipating where next they would go.
“The hotel.” Axel replied and her smile slowly faded.
“What? Why?”
“We are done for today.” He replied and entered the car, Lily frowned and also entered the car.
“But I don’t want to go back to the hotel now.” Lily whined and folded her arms.
“Well, do you have somewhere you want to go?” He asked.
“No, but you said the waiter wrote down places we can visit.”
“Yes, but do you want to go to those places today? What about tomorrow and the rest of the day we will be spending here?” Axel asked and she rolled her eyes then looked away from him.
He ignored her and ignited the car then drove into the streets. They arrived at the hotel in minutes and Lily walked out of the car, she was expecting Axel to also walk out but he didn’t.
Before she could say anything, he drove off and her lips parted in shock. She was surprised by his act, he didn’t inform her, all he did was drop her off and drive away.
“Ma’am, I will walk you to your room.” She heard someone say and she turned to see one of his guards.
“I don’t need your fucking help.” She said angrily and walked into the hotel, she was so mad at Axel. He didn’t even care to tell her why he dropped her off or where he was heading.
She got into the elevator and pressed the button to the floor where their suite was. The elevator door was about to close when a guy rushed into it.
He sighed in relief and Lily stared at him. He turned to her and smiled at her. His smile was cute and Lily found herself smiling back at him. He looked like he was in his late twenties, he had black hair and a dragon tattoo on his neck.
“Hi, my name is Leo.” He introduced himself and stretched his hand to Lily for a handshake.
“Lily.” She replied and shook his hand. He looked down at her finger and noticed the ring, his smile grew wider and he looked up at her.
“You are married.” He said and Lily nodded with her smile.
“Yes, I am here for my honeymoon.” She replied.
“Hmm, that’s nice.” He replied and the elevator door opened. Lily stepped out of the elevator and he also did which surprised her a little, the floor only had two suites.
“You are also getting off on this floor?” She asked and he nodded.
“Yeah, the other suite is mine.” He replied.
“Oh.” Lily muttered.
She had no idea what to say again and all she did was nod and walk towards their suite, she got to the door and paused when she realised the door was locked.
It needed a key card for it to be opened and only Axel had it.
“Oh, God.” She sighed and bit her lip.
“Is everything okay?” She heard Leo ask and she turned to see him behind her.
“Hmm, ye… yeah. I forgot the key card.” She replied and smiled nervously. She felt a little embarrassed, she was on honeymoon with her husband and she didn’t have a key to their room.
“Oh, sorry about that.”
“Yeah, I guess I will just wait till my husband gets back.” She chuckled nervously and Leo smiled at her.
“Instead of waiting all by yourself, why not come hang with me at the bar?” Leo proposed.
“The bar?” She asked, confused.
“Yeah, there is a bar on the fifth floor. I was heading there, I just wanted to get something from my suite.” He replied and Lily thought about it.
Isn’t it dangerous to hang out with a stranger?
And won’t Axel be mad at her?
If she declined his offer and decided to wait, she would be so bored. And also, she had no idea when Axel would be back.
Wouldn’t it be rude to decline his offer?
“Lily.” Leo called, snapping her out of her thoughts and she smiled at him.
“Yes. I will go with you.” She replied and he smiled.
“Okay, please wait for a few minutes, I will be back.” He said and Lily nodded at him then he walked into his suite.
Lily sighed and waited for him. What is the worst that can happen in hanging out with a stranger?
