“I will help you with that.” Nora said to Lily as she tried to put on her jacket by herself.
“Thank you.” Lily muttered in response as Nora took the jacket from her and helped her in putting it on.
It was night already and Lily had already been discharged, according to the doctor, she would be fine. Luckily, her injury was just minor because it was at the upper part of her stomach. The knife missed her lungs and every other vital organ.
All she had to do was use her drugs at the proper time so she would be healthy again.
“Where is Axel?” Lily asked as Nora pulled her up gently. Ever since Axel left in the morning, he hasn’t returned yet and Lily was worried.
“He is at home already, he is waiting for you.” Nora replied and she smiled a little.
They both walked out of the ward but at a slow pace because Lily couldn’t walk normally.
Thirty minutes passed and they arrived at Axel’s estate, Nora drove into the mansion and parked the car.
She and Nora walked out of the house and headed in, they got in and met Axel in the living room.
Lily’s face lit up as he walked towards her.
“Here is everything that belongs to her, I got to go.” Nora said and dropped a bag on the couch.
“Thank you, Nora.” Lily said and Nora smiled at her before walking out of the house.
Lily noticed the living room was empty, there were no maids around.
“Where are the maids, Axel?” She asked.
“I dismissed them for a few days.”
“Oh.” She mumbled. She needed no explanation for that, she knew it was because of what happened.
“You should go to your room and have some rest.” Axel said and she shook her head in response.
“No, I don’t want to lay on the bed and do nothing again, I have had enough rest, I have been sleeping all day.” She replied.
Axel didn’t know the response to give her, all he did was nod his head in response.
Lily’s smile suddenly grew wide and Axel wondered what thought popped into her head that made her smile widely.
“The book. It’s time for you to explain it to me, I am done with it.” She said with a smile and Axel’s mouth an ‘oh’
He wasn’t expecting that.
“Yeah.” He replied simply and she giggled a little. There was something about her that confused Axel and made him think a lot.
She just got stabbed and she isn’t bothered about it, ever since Nora lied to her.
Here she is, excited about a book, she had already forgotten what happened. It is obvious she had no worries in this life, she just wanted to live and be happy.
“I will go get the book.” She said happily and was about to walk away but Axel hurriedly held her hand.
“Don’t bother getting it, I have copies of the book in my study.”
“Oh, okay. Let’s go then.” She replied and walked ahead of him to his study, Axel exhaled and trailed behind her.
Axel got to his study and met her seated on the couch already, he walked to his bookshelf, picked two copies of the book he asked her to read, and walked back to her.
He took a seat on the couch opposite hers and stretched a copy of the book to her, she took it from him and opened it.
“Ready?” Axel asked and she nodded in response.
“What do you not understand about the book?” He asked.
“Everything.” She replied and looked up at him.
“Summarise what you read to me.” He ordered and she smiled.
“A man kidnapped a lady and made her do whatever he wanted. He was obsessed with her and dominant over her till they grew old together.” Lily explained and Axel nodded.
She really read the book to the end.
“So what part is confusing to you?” Axel asked. His eyes were on her as he asked the questions, he studied every little thing she did. The way she rolls her eyes without realizing she did, the way she smiles, the way she bites her bottom lip while she thinks of a response to his questions.
“The part where he ties her to the bed, the way he beats her while they have sex and so much more. He was too dominant and she was too submissive.” She replied.
“Bondage, Discipline, Sadism, Masochism.”
“What does that mean?” She asked.
“The part of the pain you were curious about.” Axel replied and her eyes widened.
“You mean to feel that pain I’m curious about, I have to go through what the female character in the book went through?” She asked surprised.
“Not necessarily all. It depends on you.”
“Is it legal?” She asked curiously.
“It is, if the dominant and submissive agree on the same terms and set rules.” Axel replied and Lily furrowed her brows. She gets more confused the more he answers her questions.
“Yo… you want me to be your submissive?” She asked and he shrugged.
“If you want it.” He replied and she frowned.
“No, I don’t want to do that.” She replied with an irritated expression.
“Okay.” Axel replied simply and dropped the book then stood up.
“Where are you going?” She asked and also stood up.
“To bed.”
“But we are not done yet.”
“I am.” He replied and walked out of the study.
“Did I make him mad?” She muttered and walked out of the study. She got to the living room and was about to get to the stairs when the door opened revealing Max.
“Max?” Lily called surprised.
“Lily.” He called back and walked towards her.
“How are you feeling?” He asked.
“Better. What are you doing here?”
“Oh, I came to see Axel. Is he here?” He asked as he tried his best not to get lost staring at her.
“I think he is in his room.” Lily replied, glancing a the stairs, she wondered how Axel got to his room so fast and she was unable to catch up with him.
Curiosity got the best of Lily again and she took a step closer to Max. Max was uncomfortable but he didn’t move away.
“Can I ask you something?” She asked and he nodded.
“Of course, what?”
“Is sex better with just pleasure? or better with pain and pleasure?” She asked and Max’s eyes widened a little.
