Lily watched Axel as kept answering different calls and ignoring some, he seemed busy, like he had a lot to do. She started to feel bad for making him stay home.
“Since it’s just a fever you can go to work. It’s not serious.” She said softly and he looked up at her, all he did was shake his head before looking at his phone again.
“It’s just a fever. I am sure I can manage. When you were outside, the doctor gave me a shot and I feel better a little now.” She replied.
“I will stay.” He replied without looking up at her. The door to her room opened and the doctor walked in. Axel turned to him and he had a smile on his face. Probably to hide his sad and worried expression for Lily.
“Mrs. Blackwell, all you have is a fever, you will be fine.” The doctor said and Lily smiled at him.
“Yes, I know. Axel told me already.” She replied and he nodded.
“Have got your drugs here with me, I just want to have a few words with your husband.” He added and Axel stood up and they both walked out of the room.
“Okay, so here are the pills. You should hide the drugs from her so she wouldn’t see them.” The doctor said as he brought out three pills from the little bag he was holding.
“You will give her this first, it’s better if she takes it now.” The doctor said, handing the first pill to Axel.
“After a few hours, she will feel pain, a really bad pain, that is when the abortion has begun. When it has, you have to give her this second pill immediately and call me. I will tell you what to do then after it is all done, she will take this last pill.” The doctor explained as he handed the rest of the pills to Axel.
“Okay.” He replied.
“That will be all, I will be on my way now.” He said.
“Oh, one important thing. You have to be with her when she starts feeling the pain, anything can happen so you have to be with her.”
“Okay.” Axel replied again and they both walked into the room.
Lily smiled at them immediately as they walked into the room and the doctor smiled back. Guilt ate him up and he hurriedly packed his bag before he would let the cat out of the bag.
He said goodbye to Lily and Axel then he made his way out of the room.
Axel had the drug in the bag and he sat on Lily’s bed again.
“Can I see the drugs?” She asked.
“There is no need for that, the doctor already prescribed it to me. I will get the maids to get you something first.” Axel replied and Lily nodded in response.
He stood up and walked towards the door.
“Thank you, Axel.” She said and he stopped, he turned back to her and nodded slightly before walking out.
Hours passed and it was night already, Lily had already taken the first pill but she hadn’t felt any pain yet. Axel did the little work he could do from home and he kept sending the maids to go check up on Lily every hour.
Lily on the other hand was feeling a lot better and she was happy Axel stood up all day because of her, she was glad he kept sending the maids to check up on her.
Axel was done in his study and he walked out of the room and headed up the stairs. He got up the stairs and walked into Lily’s room to see her on the bed.
She was just sitting and staring, her face lit up as she saw him walk in.
“Axel. She called and he walked to her.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” He asked. He was anticipating the pain, that is the only sign that it worked, that the baby would be aborted.
“I feel better.” She replied.
“Are you feeling any pain?” He asked and she shook her head in response. She was about to speak up when she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her stomach.
She ignored it and tried to speak up but this time, it was more painful. It felt like a cramp but it was way worse than it.
She let out a scream and placed her hands on her stomach, Axel rushed to her and she screamed again.
“Lily.” He called and she looked at him with teary eyes.
“M… my stomach, it… it hurts.” She stuttered in pain and Axel brought out his phone and placed a call to Dr. Gerad.
Lily screamed again and this time, she held his arm.
He picked up immediately and Axel placed the phone at his ear.
“Has the pain started?” Dr. Gerad asked as he picked up the call.
“Ye… yeah.” Axel stuttered as he watched Lily scream in pain.
“You need to give her the second pill now.” The doctor said and Axel tried to pull away from Lily to get the pill but her grip on him was tight.
“Lily, I am on a call with the doctor and he told me to get you your pill, you need to let me go okay?” He said and Lily let go of him immediately.
She would do anything to get the pain to stop, it was unbearable.
Axel rushed out of her room and in seconds, he returned with the pill. He poured a glass of water and gave her the pill, she hurriedly used it and gulped the glass of water Axel gave her.
Lily screamed again and Axel placed his phone at his ear.
“Are you still there?” Axel asked.
“Yes, Mr. Blackwell. Has she used the second pill?”
“Yes.”
“Okay. Now, you need to get her into the bathroom, she needs to sit on a toilet.”
“What? Why?” He asked and Lily let out a scream and he shut his eyes tightly due to how loud it was.
Axel moved closer to her and she held onto him, he noticed a red colour on her bed and he pulled the blanket away.
He was surprised to see blood and Lily screamed in horror and fear as she saw it too.
“She is bleeding. Is this supposed to happen?” Axel raised his voice a little.
“Reasons why I asked you to get her to sit on a toilet, she is going to bleed out the child.” The doctor replied and Axel ended the call.
He hurriedly carried Lily in a bridal style off the bed and into the bathroom. He was confused about how he was going to do what the doctor asked him to do, he had never been so confused before.
Lily kept crying in his arms and he slowly placed her on her feet but held her firmly.
“The doctor said you need to sit on the toilet since you are bleeding.” Axel told her and she nodded.
She was putting on a gown which made things a lot easier, with trembling hands, he slowly took off her panties and Lily let him.
She was in too much pain to care about anything.
He got her bloody panties off successfully and made her sit on the toilet, he bent next to her and held her hand as she cried in pain.
She looked at him in tears and Axel couldn’t hold her gaze this time, he looked away from her.
“Axel, it hurts. It hurts so bad.” She cried and he turned to her.
She cried so hard and squeezed his hand.
“Why am I bleeding and feeling so much pain?” She cried.
“I… I don’t know. The doctor hasn’t said anything yet.” He replied and she sniffed.
He had no idea the pain would be so much, he thought it would be something bearable. Not that he was regretting his decision, of course not. He would do anything for his reputation to not be ruined.
His wife was just too fragile for this, too weak and soft. He looked at her eyes and he felt her blue eyes staring deep into him, he looked away from her again and she let out another scream as she felt another cramp.
“Hey, can you hold on for a few seconds, I need to get my phone and call the doctor.” He said.
“No, please don’t leave me.” She cried.
“It is just for a few seconds. I am not living you, Lily.” He replied and she let go of his hand, he rushed into the room, grabbed his phone then returned to the bathroom.
“I’m here.” He said and bent next to her again, he held her hand as he used his free hand to press his phone and call Dr. Gerard.
“Mr. Blackwell.” The doctor called as he picked up the call.
“The pain. It’s too much for her, when is it going to stop?” He asked with a tone of worry in his voice.
“Just a few more minutes. After that, she needs to lie in a tub filled with warm water till she feels better. After that, she has to take the last pill.”
“Will she feel any more pain after that?”
“No, she will be fine.” The doctor replied and Axel ended the call.
Axel sighed as he stared at the tub which was a few feet from them, he wasn’t sure she would let go of him again and at the same time, he couldn’t get a maid in the room.
Her head was bowed as she whimpered continuously.
“Lily.” He called and she looked up at him.
“I have prepared a warm bath to make you feel better.” He said and she let go of his hand, the pain already reduced, it was already bearable.
Axel stood up and walked to the bath, he prepared it and made sure it was warm and relaxing. He turned back to Lily and realized her cries already died down which meant the pain already stopped.
He moved closer to her and she looked up at him weakly.
“You have to take your clothes off.” He said and she nodded in response, she raised her hands and he took off her gown. He stared at her boobs and he tried his best to focus on what was going on.
He had seen her naked before but he was having a better view this time. Lily on the other hand wasn’t so comfortable but she just wanted to feel better and besides, he had seen her naked before. She didn’t have much to hide.
He slowly unhooked her bra and her boobs popped out, he looked at her and she stared back at him.
“The pains, are they gone?” He asked and she nodded and sniffed.
“Yeah, just feeling a little.” She replied.
“It’s time for the bath.” He said and she nodded, he carefully helped her up and he hurriedly flushed the toilet before Lily could look at it.
He helped her walk to the bathtub, she got in and exhaled heavily. Axel sat on the floor and watched her.
She sniffed and looked at him.
“Thank you, Axel.” She said softly and he nodded in response.
Half an hour passed and Lily already felt better, all this while, Axel sat and watched her. While she was in the tub, he already got the maids to clean her room.
She was glad he cared, she was happy he was with her. He got her a towel as he got out of the bath, she felt a lot better.
Axel helped her out of the bathroom and into the room. As she was about to get to the bed, the pills on the table caught her eye. She wanted to ignore it but she was so curious to see what type of pills it was. She knew it was the drug that caused all that pain for her, she just wanted to know what type it was.
She walked away from Axel and walked to the table.
She slowly picked up the pills and her lips parted in shock as she read what was on the bottle. She slowly turned to Axel and he sighed as he saw the pills in her hand.
“Axel, did I just have an abortion?”
