Days passed with Lily living and adjusting to her new life. The past few days have been boring for her, she had nothing to do, she had nothing to learn, and she had no events to attend with Axel.
Speaking of Axel, it has been days since she last saw him. After that night in the room, she didn’t see him again. It is either he leaves before she wakes up or he comes back very late at night.
Anytime she tries to wait for him so she can see him, he ends up not showing up. She felt he was mad at her and avoiding her because she checked his personal room. She just wanted to see him so badly and apologize to him.
Nora also hasn’t been visiting since the last time she did, she knew Axel stopped her from doing so. Everything was just so boring for her, she felt she didn’t have a life.
The boredom and loneliness have made her start thinking again, she remembers her father and how it was her fault that she killed him. The guilt eats her up all over again and she ends up crying her eyes out.
It had been two weeks since she had been in Axel’s mansion which made it three weeks in total since her father died.
Just like every other day, Lily woke up but not with so much energy. She felt so weak but she managed to get out of bed and do her morning routine.
As time passed, she kept getting weaker. She couldn’t feel her legs and she realised she was feeling feverish and burning up.
She lay on her bed and pulled the blanket over herself. The door suddenly opened and a maid walked in.
“Ma’am.” The maid called but Lily was too weak to respond. The maid walked over to her when she wasn’t getting any response.
“Ma’am, are you okay?” She asked and Lily didn’t give her a response, the maid slowly touched her forehead and gasped a little seeing she was burning up.
She hurriedly rushed out of the room before Lily could say anything. Minutes passed and the door to her room opened again, but this time, it was Axel.
He was already ready for work and was about to leave the house when a maid rushed down the stairs and informed him Lily wasn’t feeling okay.
Not that he cared but it had been a few days since he had seen her, he had been so busy in his new position, he barely had time for himself.
It was so hectic because he was trying to change a lot and set up new laws.
Axel got into her room and saw her on the bed, it was normal weather out but she had a blanket over herself.
He slowly walked to her and as he stood in front of her, she opened her eyes. Axel’s fragrance which Lily loved so much and always looked forward to inhaling suddenly irritated her.
She felt the urge to vomit and she hurriedly got off the bed, she rushed past Axel and into the bathroom.
Axel watched the bathroom door as he heard her puke, she stayed in the bathroom for almost a minute before he heard the water run and she walked out of it.
She looked so tired and pale, she slowly dragged her feet towards the bed.
“Did you take what you are not supposed to again?” Axel asked and she shook her head in response like a child.
She sat on the bed and Axel was in front of her, he sighed and pulled out his phone then placed a call to his doctor.
He picked up after a few rings.
“Mr. Blackwell.” The man called.
“Hey, can you come over to my house real quick?”
“Is everything okay?” The doctor asked back.
“My wife is sick.” He replied as his eyes were on Lily. She had her head bowed and she was playing with her fingers.
“Okay, I will be there in a few minutes.” He replied and Axel ended the call.
She looked up at him and he held her gaze.
“Can I lay on the bed? I don’t feel comfortable sitting up.” She said and Axel nodded in response. She slowly lay on the bed and pulled the blanket over her head. Axel decided to let her be and he took a seat on her couch.
He started to handle a few things he could handle about work on his phone, he glanced at her too as he did.
After a while, the doctor arrived and he was sent up to Lily’s room.
The middle aged man walked into Lily’s room and bowed at Axel. Axel isn’t a man of words, the doctor greeted him and he walked towards Lily immediately.
“Mrs. Blackwell.” The doctor called and Lily slowly pulled off the blanket over her head, the doctor smiled widely at her and she sighed heavily.
“Can you please wait outside for a while, Mr. Blackwell?” The doctor asked and Axel said nothing and walked out of her room.
Axel paced slowly in the hallway as he answered a lot of calls, he just wanted to know what was wrong with Lily so he could be on his way.
After what seemed like a long time to Axel, the doctor walked out of the room with a smile on his face.
“Mr. Blackwell.” The doctor called and Axel who was standing at the end of the hallway walked to him.
“Are you done?” Axel asked and he nodded with a smile.
“Congratulations sir, your wife is pregnant.” The doctor said and Axel raised a brow surprised. He was surprised but his expression didn’t show it, he remained calm.
“Pregnant?” He asked and the doctor nodded in response with a smile.
“Yeah, she is two weeks pregnant.” The doctor replied and Axel didn’t think twice before he made his decision.
“Did you tell her already?” Axel asked.
“No, I decided to break the news to you first.” The doctor replied with a wide smile still on his face.
“Don’t tell her about it. How can she abort it?” He asked and the doctor’s smile faded and his eyes widened.
“What? You want to abort it?” He asked and Axel nodded in response.
“But why? She is your wife.”
“Gerad, you have been with me for a long time, you have done a lot of dirty things you shouldn’t have done for me. I show up with a wife out of the blue and you of all people should put two together and figure out what happened there. I can’t risk anything ruining my reputation right now, we have only been married for two weeks. I don’t know much about this but I know pregnancy doesn’t start in two weeks. Get that thing out of her.” Axel explained and the doctor sighed.
“Okay, then but she has to come to the hospital with me.” The doctor replied.
“No, I don’t want her to know about it. Get her a pill or something, lie to her that she just has a little fever and she will be fine after taking a few drugs.” Axel said and the doctor had a worried expression on.
“What if she found out already by herself? Every lady knows pregnancy symptoms.”
“Not my wife.” Axel replied and the doctor nodded.
“She would feel a lot of pain if she aborted the baby through pills.”
“Don’t worry about that.” Axel replied and the doctor nodded. He knew he couldn’t confuse Axel, he had to do what he wanted,
“Okay, I don’t have them with me yet. I should have some in the kit in my car, I will go get them.” The doctor said and Axel nodded.
The doctor walked down the stairs and Axel walked into her room, Lily was seated on the bed and she looked up at Axel with a worried expression.
“What is it? What did the doctor say? What is wrong with me?” She asked and Axel sat on her bed.
“It’s nothing. Just a fever.” He replied and Lily sighed in relief.
“Oh, it’s nothing serious.” She said and Axel nodded in response.
“Yeah, it’s nothing serious.”
