Camila POV
“Ow!”
I colluded with Matthew’s broad back, it was intentional. I wasn’t paying attention, looking I noticed we are in the parking lot. No, not the regular school parking lot, but the reserved car park for professors.
Yeah, that’s one of the reasons the other students calls me a spoilt brat.
Matthew turned around, I step back feeling dazed
“I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking.” I quickly recovered. I shook my head, trying to clear it off the cobwebs.
I tried walking around to enter the car, but he gripped my right arm holding back from moving away.
“You were ignoring me.” He stated. He knew I was ignoring him, I mean it was quite obvious and for obvious reasons.
His hold on my arm was doing dirty to my head, my mind was messy as all I could think of is how his touch wakes up every nerve in my body. I shook my head inwardly and tried to wriggle my arm free, but it was useless against his firm grip.
“Let go of me.” I was trying to maintain my voice from shaking.
“You were ignoring me, Camila.” Each time the sound of my name from his lips manage to leave me breathless. “Why.” He pulled me closer, he appeared calm, but I know otherwise.
“I was busy with school work.” I said, attempting to sound nonchalant.
“Busy?” He rasped an eyebrow, stepping closer than earlier. Now our bodies touch, and he seems as if he didn’t mind the position, while I was going insane.
I could feel the warmth of his breath on my skin, sending shivers down my spine. His eyes locked on mine, their piercing gaze making me feel vulnerable, small, and exposed. The scent of his cologne enveloped me, his signature mixture of spice and leather that makes my heart race each time I inhale it.
“You were busy? I was seconds away in tearing this place down.” Matthew hissed in my face. Our chest brushing, our face inches apart.
My head has gone blank all I can see is the faint stubble on his jawline, the curve of his lips, and the sharp angle of his nose.
“I don’t need you to be involved in my
Personal affairs. I can very much take care of myself.” My words came out breathless, I was drowning in his presence like he was absorbing me whole.
“Your personal affairs is my fucking business.” I was thrilled when I heard those words from him.
Those this mean he cares for me? Even better has he developed feelings for me too? I was grinning from ear to ear inwardly, and was about cracking a grin.
“Don entrusted me with you, so I’m responsible for everything that involves you.” And just like that, the sweet sensation I was feeling died.
Silly! Of course, he doesn’t have feelings for me, he’s only concerned with me because of my brother is his boss.
For Christ’s sake, I can’t even match up to his taste in women. I’ve seen the ladies he’s been with in the past, and none of them can I compare to? I’m just a kid compare to them.
But somehow, his little and rare care for me, makes me thinks he feels something for me. I should have realized how stupid that makes me look, he’s just being nice and that too because of Marco.
“And that includes giving you punishments for your actions.” Matthew’s fingers grazed my cheek, waves of cold shiver went down my spine.
The touch was feather-light, yet it felt like a jolt of electricity had coursed through my body. His fingertips danced across my skin, tracing the curve of my jawline and the shape of my lips.
He lean down, his face barely an inch from mine. His lips brushed over mine, I felt my heart racing, my pulse pounding in my ears.
I fluttered my eyes shut awaiting his lips on mine, I’ve always wanted to know what his lips tasted like and how they would feel against mine.
I was ready, prepared to lock our lips together. I lean upwards to meet him halfway since was wasting too much time, but I suddenly felt him draw back. And completely detached himself from me, I snapped my eyes open in time to see him mumbling curses under his breath.
The frown lines he had was a sign of frustration and anger. He might be regretting getting this close to me, I was kind of used to this feeling.
“Get in the car.” He avoided eye contact as he opened the door for me.
I hesitated but finally get inside the car, and went around the car to the driver’s seat. Turn on the car, and we drove off.
