The music playing quietly in the background, I glance at my wristwatch again, groaning. It’s been only a few hours into the event, and barely twenty minutes since I joined these men in a private conference room.
The men arguing in front of me are capos, Dons of various regions in the country. We are having a Mafia meeting in the middle of a charity event, how convenient.
I heave a sigh again.
These morons are wasting my time, I should be home with Zoey, not listening to them fight over bullshit.
Venting out their pent-up disagreements, lashing out things they’ve done to offend themselves.
“Soldiers died in the last operation because of your carelessness to inspect and make everything went smoothly.”
“I lost my soldiers too.”
I could silent them all just by a word reaction, they all answers to me anyway. But I chose not to, I sat back and watch the release their frustrations.
My phone, kept on the table buzz effectively ending their noise making. All heads turn in my direction, waiting expectantly on me to say something.
I simply ignored them and pick up my phone.
‘Donna is dance with a man’ was the simple sentence, that had me flaring up and walk out of the room.
I curse under my breath, this woman just like getting punished, doesn’t she.
Ignoring their confused stare as I left, I’m done sitting there and having them bickering like old women.
My woman’s safety comes first above all else.

“My last vacation was in Dubai.”
That’s all they have been doing, bragging. Comparing among themselves who have gone to more places, expensive place least I forgot. All these women know is to lavish their rich husband’s money.
“…. I had to fly back here just to get my makeup done.” I missed the first part of her sentences, but it’s about flying from where she was back to US just take her make up done.
I sigh taking another sip of the alcohol in my hand, I don’t usually take alcohol and if Marco finds out, he would flip. But I had to keep myself occupied, something to keep me from snapping at these annoying bees.
“… Their services were so poor, the waiter had the nerves to pour drink on me claiming it was a mistake.” Another one said. Talking about her bad experience in a restaurant in Dubai.
I couldn’t stop the giggle that escape me, I bet she was being a bitch there, the waiter had to no choice but to teach her a lesson. All eyes turned to me.
“Sorry.” I lift my glass of alcohol to them, I am tipsy, probably more than just tipsy. I took another sip, the liquid burning harshly down my throat.
They went back to their gossip, while I look around the hall. Many guests has left, the night is no longer young. If Marco wasn’t in a meeting, we would have left too.
“I don’t like them either.” A female voice said beside me. It was the lady who has being sitting quietly beside me.
Unlike me, she seemed to be enjoying the show these women were displaying.
“Must be used to it.” I whispered, or attempt to whisper, they glance at me again but quickly went back to their business.
I giggled but this time silently.
“Let’s dance?” She stretches out her hand.
There were few couples on the dance floor, dancing slowly to the
I took her hand and went over to the dance floor, she supported my movements her hands on my waist and mine on her shoulder. The music swirled around us, we began to move in sync, our bodies swaying to the rhythm. Our dance was clumsy at, our feet stumbling over each other as we tried to find our groove.
“Let’s dance.” A deep breath fanned down on my ear, pulling me into their arms from my dance partner.
“If you don’t want to lose your head, step back.” I warned, of course he won’t take me seriously. He knew I wasn’t in my right state and wanted to take advantage of it.
“I will lose my head for you baby.” He flirts instead, wanting to come out as
Of course, you will lose your head but not for me, for your stubbornness. I wasn’t strong to push him away, no matter how much I try I can’t shrug him off.
I felt his weight throw off me, I stumbled a bit from the sudden movement. I hadn’t even realised that he has completely locked me in his arms until now.
“Fucking Bastard.” I heard Marco cursed, I turn around to see my fuming husband, while the man was knocked out cold a few feet away.
Marco stalked forward, he was nowhere near finish. He would kill this man if no one stops him, unfortunately nobody seem to be stepping up to stop him. He’s scary enough when he’s just being his usual cold self, and now the look in his eyes is murderous.
“Marco.” I tried moving to him, but I was feeling dizzy. The alcohol is finally taking a toll on me, “Please let him go.” Marco changed his direction, and now holding, preventing me from falling.
“You’re drunk.” He state, his jaw ticks in annoyance. “And you let this bastard touch what’s mine, you will be punished for that.” His hold on my waist tightens.
“I love your punishments.” I giggled, his punishments are my favorites.
“Then get ready.” He picked me up and carried to the car, he instructed the driver to take us home.
