Trap

Book:The CEO Contracted Wife Published:2025-2-8

POV: Raphael
She is trying so hard to break the Myers and instill hatred in their hearts. She is smart, and if they are not careful, they will fall for her tricks. She knows so much, all thanks to her friendship with Juliette Myers. But I’m pretty sure most of these things she is saying are lies and she is only saying them to break the Myers and make them as miserable as she was.
“I am not in love with my ex-lover, Eloise, and you know it. Stop trying to come between my husband and me because our bond is stronger than your lies.” Juliette Myers told her.
“Oh, come on!
Tell him already!
Tell him how you missed being with your family and, by extension, your ex-lover. I know you love him, Juliette; I could tell from the way you talked about him always. You wish you were married to him and not your husband. Admit it!” she coerced her, yelling at her as if she could force her to admit to a crime she never committed.
“I care about Jarvis because he is my friend and we grew up together. I am not in love with him because I fell in love with my husband a long time ago. Yes, I always talk about him to everyone because he is such a great guy and a good friend to me. But I am not in love with him; I moved on with my life a long time ago, and that is why my life is perfect and enviable.
If only you had moved on with your life when you couldn’t have kids, if only you had sought help when you had a mental breakdown, maybe your life would not be as miserable as it is. My life will never be like yours; I will not be a lunatic, and I will never steal a child or hurt innocent people. I am not like you!” Juliette Myers told her in tears, glaring daggers at her and forgetting that she still had her daughter in her care.
“So you think you are better than me, don’t you?
You think I’m pathetic and miserable, huh?” Eloise asked in disdain.
“No, Eloise, I don’t think I am better than you; I don’t even think my life is perfect. I’m the miserable one, I’m sorry,” Juliette Myers responded quickly, trying to correct herself immediately.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it; I just want all this to go away, just give me my daughter, and we’ll let you go. We won’t involve the police, I swear; we just want our daughter, please. I can help you find a surrogate, I can be a surrogate for you if you want. Just let me have my daughter, please.” She begged her.
I’m not sure she really meant that, I mean, how can she offer to be a surrogate for Eloise Kendall?
That’s like a recipe for disaster. She could kill you right after, she may not even let you carry that baby to term because she is filled with anger and jealousy. She wishes to carry her child, so seeing someone carrying her child will make her jealous and furious. The best thing to do is to put a bullet in her head or lock her up in a huge metal box and throw away the key.
“It is too late for that now, don’t you think?” she scoffed, eyeing her furiously.
“Besides, I have two daughters already and two more on the way. I have all the kids I need, Juliette. So keep your offer to yourself and stop pretending to care because I’m not buying it!” she yelled at her, ending the call as she did.
“Are your boys in position?” I asked Miguel. He nodded affirmatively, and I nodded to Carl in approval, asking him to evacuate the premises and get everyone out. Eloise did not just trace Juliette Myers to her present location; she traced our location, too. Now I don’t know if she is planning to attack us or the Myers. But we have to be prepared on both sides in case she decides to attack us first and get us out of the way before going after the Myers.
“Maintain your positions and stay close to the phone. Get rid of Mom’s phone, take her out of there, and make sure no one sees you leaving. Use my private elevator and get a car from my private garage underground. Do you understand?” Miguel asked Shaun, his head of security. We could hear his Mom making a fuss as her phone was taken away from her.
I guess she is still hoping that Eloise will come back to her senses and agree to her terms. She still wants to speak with her and probably get her to change her mind. But I don’t think that Eloise is willing to change her mind anytime soon. She has made up her mind to fight this fight to the end or die trying.
She already has her own plans since they started talking. I know this because I’ve been following her movement since they made that first call. She couldn’t reach her mole again and we noticed that she called the house a few times after she finished speaking with Juliette the first time. She called the house but no one was picking. That is how she got to know that Juliette was not at home, and so she decided to trace her phone to get her location.
So, while we were tracing her phone, she was also tracing mom’s phone, and the tech guy did not know; he did not detect it on time. I had no idea that she was still playing us down to this moment. If I knew she would send people to the hotel tonight, I wouldn’t have let her make that call. I would have stopped her from calling her over and over again.
Eloise is smarter than we thought, she wasn’t talking to Juliette Myers just to infuriate her. She was simply indulging her because she had her plans. Her guys were already close by, so she was stalling to give them a chance to get to the hotel and take out the Myers. She knows all the places that the Myers might be, she had already done her homework on this city a long time ago when she started making these plans.
I don’t know if she came here herself or maybe she had one of her guys do it for her. She knows all the properties of the Myers and every secret exit. She has been watching them for many years now, so she knows everything there is to know about their hotels. It dawned on me a few minutes after Miguel ordered Shaun to use his private elevator and also take one of his cars.
“If Eloise has been keeping a close watch on you and your family for the past twenty-four, don’t you think she knows of your secret underground garage and your private elevator?
What if your Mom already told her about it in one of their conversations? Don’t you think she would not forget about it so soon?” I asked Miguel, my eyes fixed on him as it clicked in our heads immediately,
“Trap!
It’s a trap, Shaun!
Get out of there, it’s a trap!
Get my parents out of there, go back inside it’s a trap!” we both yelled at the same time as we realized that she had been stalling to give her boys enough time to get in position and wait for the Myers to try to escape. We yelled at the top of our voices and asked them to turn back and go back inside. But we were too late; they were already at the garage, and the thugs Eloise sent were already waiting for them down there.
We heard the sound of gunshots as they turned around and ran back inside. I know I have never met the Myers, but it felt as if they were my family. I felt my heart breaking into a thousand pieces and I prayed nobody got hit.
“Boss, we need to leave now, we are sending some disturbance in our security detectors. We think we have some intruders, but we are not sure yet, and I can’t let any of the guys go over there to check it out; I want to do it myself because I don’t want any mistakes.” He told me sternly, urging Miguel and I to get into the car.
I know he just doesn’t want to leave my side, I just nodded in understanding as I dragged Miguel to the car and ordered the driver to move immediately. We are going to be working from Dominic’s house this time. It’ll be safer there and we’ll have all the help we need.
