POV: Raphael
“You wouldn’t dare!” Nate retorted.
“Say one more condescending word about my sister or my family and you will find out,” Miguel added with an evil smile plastered on his face. I never knew that he could be this mean until now. I wonder if he is just trying to support me or if there is something to it. Could it be that they have a score to settle before now?
“I know how you make your money, Nathan Hawkins. I am dying to show the world just what an asshole you really are. Why don’t you dare me and find out what I’m capable of,” he told him once more, daring him to make a silly move. I watched as Nathan ground his face and stared at him curiously, wondering what he was talking about.
Then one of their boys whispered something to Ethan, and in turn, Ethan whispered to Nathan as well, and realization dawned on him. I knew the moment he realized what was going on. His curiosity turned to anger immediately and his face turned vicious as he stared at Miguel. It looked as if he wanted to reach for him and strangle him to death. For a brief second, I thought he would attack him in anger, but he just looked away from him and glared at me as if this was all my fault.
“Is this your big plan?
You think you will get her by siding with her brother and making him like you?” he asks me, his tone filled with anger and hate.
“As for you, Miguel. I’ll advise you to watch your back because you just chose the wrong side. Tell me, what is going to happen if you suddenly go missing and your body is found in the ditch?
Victoria then gets everything, right?
And if I marry her, then automatically, everything falls in my hands, huh?
Then again, what if she dies mysteriously and there is no one else left to contend the will with me?
That means I get to keep everything, and no one will dare to challenge me!” he let out excitedly, laughing at his own stupid joke.
“You fucking bastard!” Miguel yelled in anger, aiming to attack him. But I held him back and whispered in his ears telling him I’ve got everything under control.
“You can’t come close to my sister, I won’t let you, I’ll fucking kill you!” he threatened him furiously. I pulled him aside and told him to let me handle my family by myself.
“I won’t let him hurt her or anyone in your family, I promise,” I told him calmly. He believes and his confidence in my actions makes it impossible to disappoint him.
“I will kill you before you lay a finger on my girl. That is a promise, brother!” I let out firmly, earning a gasp from Mom.
“How could you say such mean words to your brother because of that rude and mean woman, what is wrong with you?
You should never fight with your brother’s, son. What happened to the bro’s before hoes code?” she asked me furiously, her eyes glaring daggers at me.
“Get out of my house, right now!” I told her through ground teeth, glaring angrily at her.
“I won’t leave your house until you agree that Vinnie is the right woman for you and you accept her!” Mom lets out furiously, standing by Vinnie. I could see the pain that flashed in Ethan’s eyes as Vinnie smiled toward me, her seductive gaze fixed on me. If only she knew how he truly felt about her, maybe she would stop throwing herself at me and focus on him.
But her greed and selfishness will not let her look his way. She is bent on being with me, and my mom is not helping matters with her constant support and encouragement. I hope it’s not too late for her when she finally realizes that I would rather remain single and celibate than be with her.
“I was hoping that he would prefer to be with the true daughter of Austin Kendall, seeing as he was formerly engaged to the fake Kendall daughter,” Nathan added with a smile on his face as he pushed Cindy in my direction, laughing at his annoying joke.
“That’s it!
I’m fucking done with this madness!” I let out in frustration as I picked up my phone and called 911.
“Send someone over, please. I have intruders in my house and they are armed.” I instructed. I put the phone on speaker so they could hear me giving my address to the cops as I urged them to hurry before the intruders got away.
“You have ten minutes to get the hell out of my house or I’m getting you locked up for trespassing,” I told them, ignoring the furious glares I was getting from everyone. Carl arrived at that moment and he wanted to initiate an attack. But informed him that the cops were on their way here and I ordered him to stay back and just watch me handle them my own way.
He didn’t want to let it go so easily, but he had no choice; he just had to control his anger and listen to me. I stood in front of Nathan, counting the minutes in my head while waiting for them to leave.
Mom and Vinnie were the first to leave in anger. Mom already has a serious case with Gramps, I’m sure she doesn’t want to add a police case to it. I noticed that Ethan followed Vinnie out and I smiled to myself as I knew he was trying to get her attention.
“You just wait a few more minutes, I’m sure you would love to share the same prison cell with your parents. The cops will be delighted to find you here; there are many questions you need to answer about Victoria’s case and the treatment she got from you while living in your house.” I told Cindy with an evil smile playing on her face.
“I won’t be intimidated by you. I will stand by my man no matter what!” she retorted furiously, earning a sharp fierce gaze from Nathan,
“I told you I’m never marrying you without that company. And now that you have lost everything, how could I be with you?!” he asked her, glaring at her.
“But you said you would help me get my family out if I agreed to be with Raphael. You said you will get back the company from Victoria!
Are you going to leave me for her?
I thought you said you love me; why do you choose her over me?!” Cindy yelled at him, begging him not to leave her.
“Why the hell would I take the company from her when I can have her and everything that comes with being her husband?” he asked her back, sounding like the greedy fool he was. From their conversation, it’s obvious that they have no idea that Victoria is in danger and that Eloise has sold everything and eloped with the money. She was glaring at Nathan while he stared back at her, unfazed by her glare.
She was not stupid; she got the message, and she turned away immediately, leaving Nathan standing alone in front of me. I guess she isn’t prepared to get arrested because of him after he just made it clear that he prefers Victoria to her.
“I sat back and watched you take the company that should have been mine. I listened to Gramps when he said that your father helped him build the company. But I won’t listen to him this time, I will take what is mine. And if you stand in my way, I will crush you, Raphael. I will not hesitate to kill you this time.” He warned me, smirking evilly as he walked away.
“You have to choose, Raphael. It’s either her or the company.” He told me as he walked away proudly, smirking to himself. I smirked as I watched him leave. I know what he is up to, and it’s not going to work because I won’t let him take advantage of this situation.
He wants to make a trade with me, Raphael Hawkins. But he has no idea who he is up against. He promised to give Victoria to me if I cooperate with him and sign over the company to him.
I received a text from him after he left, and that is exactly what he said he wanted. He even threatened to tell the entire family that I was not weak and sick like I made them all believe.
“I have the camera footage from when you visited my house, they will surely believe that it is you and not your doppelganger.” He texted me. If only he knows that there is no doppelganger, if only he knows that after I save Victoria and deal with Eloise, I am coming for him hard and fast.
