POV: Victoria
“What are you talking about, where is your Mom?” he asked me furiously. I told him I had no idea where she was and he sprinted out of the house the next minute yelling some incoherent curses that I couldn’t hear properly. I was shocked at his actions and I followed him immediately because I thought he was going to drive out to search for her. But he didn’t run towards his car, he ran towards the security room and I wondered what he was up to.
“Get her on the phone, She mustn’t go near Dominic’s house, he could hurt without thinking that he is her mother. I’m going to handle it, you all need to chill out and let me do my thing.” He scolded me furiously.
“She has my diamond necklace and ring, I think we should give her a chance to speak with him. With my ring and necklace, I’m sure she could get her off his hands. No one would resist such luxury, everyone has a price you know.
I would have offered them to him if he had listened to me when I went to speak with him. But he had seen me with you and he is too pissed off at you to bother hearing about my offer. The only reason he didn’t speak with me was because he had seen me with you. But he has never seen Mom with you, he doesn’t know that she stays in your house either.
He may be tempted to listen to her, she has a better chance of getting to him and earning his pity. I’m sure the diamonds are enough to pay for whatever Kyle is owing him. Let’s just give her the chance to speak with him and see if he’ll take it.” I told him. He stopped what he was doing and turned to me, looking so furious that I had to take a step back and look at him curiously, wondering what he is so pissed off about.
“You were planning to sell the engagement ring I gave you and the diamond necklace from my grandfather?
How long have you had it in your mind to pawn it off for your sister’s freedom, has it always been your plan to swindle me of everything you could lay your hands on?” He yelled at me, sounding too pissed off for my liking.
“Hey slow down, it’s just jewelry Ralph. I need the money more than I need the jewelry. Don’t forget that I won the necklace fair and square, it’s mine to do with as I please. I can choose to keep it or sell it, it’s mine!” I told him sternly.
“Those jewelry are not meant to be sold for any reason at all. I told you to leave everything to me, I have enough money to take care of all your needs, I’ve never asked you to pay back your debts, yet, have I?
And why the hell do you think Dominic will accept your damn money in exchange for your sister’s freedom?
You don’t just throw money or diamonds in the face of a drug lord. That’s a fucking insult. I need you to call your mom and get her back here immediately. If she dares to offer him money, it’ll be her life on the line. Look here, Victoria, I don’t care what you do with your diamond necklace. But I won’t forgive you if you lose my diamond ring. It means you don’t care about our relationship, you feel our engagement is just some stupid joke.
If that is how you feel, then I don’t think we should keep pretending to care about each other. If you feel you can handle everything alone, then why the fuck do you need me!” he yelled at me, standing up from his seat and shoving past me furiously. He stopped viewing the security footage and just left me to my business. What the hell is his problem?
For fucks sake it’s just a fucking ring!
I ran after him, but he didn’t spare me a second glance as he drove off into the distance, leaving me to handle it myself. I just don’t understand why he would get so angry that he would abandon me at this time when I needed him the most. I went back to reviewing the cameras myself. I had no idea what he was searching for in the cameras, but I just viewed them anyway.
A call came in and I picked it up and discovered that it was Carl calling to update me on his search for my mom and Claire. Well, it turns out that Ralph backed down from helping me search for Mom and Claire. He actually instructed Carl to take over because he couldn’t deal with me anymore. Carl said he was trying to find out how much Kyle owed Dominic and why Dominic decided to take Claire.
“There are two reasons why he would choose to keep here, ma’am. It’s either he wants her to work in one of his clubs or maybe he wants her for himself. Let’s hope he wants her for himself and not the other way around. Either way, I think we just have to keep our fingers crossed at this point because there is nothing we can do about it. The rules are not in our favor, we can’t interfere in his business, and we can’t decide what he would do with her too. We can only hope that the boss succeeds in getting to him and making him listen to the voice of reason.” He told me sadly.
In his words, we should fold our hands and leave it all to Raphael. He wants me to sit back and wait for his boss to figure it all out. Same Raphael that just walked out on me while we were still working. He wants me to abandon my sister and my mother and let Raphael handle it for me. That’s like pushing them out of a moving train and watching them die while I do nothing.
He could as well have asked me to pick a gun and put a bullet through their heads. If Raphael could abandon me at this point for no reason at all, then why the hell should I trust him with their lives?
To think that he just promised to do everything in his power to help me. Then the next minute he’s getting pissed and backing down on his promise. How long will he keep this up, why the hell should I trust him again?
He’s acting like someone with bipolar disorder, I can’t predict his actions and I can’t depend on him. Leaving them for Raphael is the last thing on my mind, I scoffed when he said it, but I didn’t say one word to challenge his orders. For all I know, he could be there with Raphael and I could say something to annoy him further. So it’s better I keep my damn mouth shut and listen to his instructions for once.
“My mom, have you found her yet?” I asked him.
