Arabella’s POV
I never thought I would be acting all weak and vulnerable in front of this stunning looking Alpha.
For fuck’s sake I came here to tell him that we simply can’t be together. I wanted him to leave me alone and stop bothering me so I can go back to living my quiet, peaceful lives.
But here I am cuddling with Mr gorgeous Alpha, crying my heart out like I used to do when my mom was alive.
Yeah, you heard me.
I’ve never cried this hard since mom died. Debbie has always been there for me but I’ve never felt this love and comforting warmth from her because she is only human you know. She never really understood all I went through while growing up as an outcast in a werewolf pack.
I never thought that I’ll ever find a werewolf that would accept me as a friend. But here I am sitting with an Alpha that still wants to be my mate despite knowing that am the daughter of a traitor.
“Am never letting you go Arabella. You’re Mine!!”
He said to me in a very possessive tone that warmed my heart and sent chills down my spine. I simply can’t believe that he’ll risk his position as an Alpha just for an outcast like me.
I tried to make him reject me. I pleaded with him, begging him to let me go so he doesn’t get himself in trouble but he scolded me in a very angry tone that made me feel like a child once more.
Then he looked at me sadly and said the words that no one else has ever said to me,
“What did they do to you to make you feel this way?? You sound so scared, so broken… What happened to you cupcakes, who did this to you, who made you this way??” He asked with so much care and concern that the tears started gushing down my cheeks in large tides.
He has only been with me for only a few hours but he has already seen through the mask that I put on. He could already see that am just a broken child that is hiding away from her past.
I couldn’t stop the tears that flowed down my cheeks as I felt his deep love and concern. He cradled me in his arms as he rubbed circles on my back and whispers soothing words to me, assuring me that he is going to protect me from every danger.
He urged me to trust him and he promised to stay with me and share my pains and troubles. He sounded so sure of himself when he assured me that he would make sure that I never suffer unjustly anymore.
If only he knows that there is absolutely no way to save me from the wrath of the king of wolves. The King would have me killed on sight if he gets to find out that I am the great white wolf that the prophecy spoke about.
I looked up from his chest and gazed into his dazzling face that’s filled with curiosity. He looked so perturbed and worried about me. It only proves that he is really concerned about me.
“He cares about us Bella. You can trust him, he is our mate. He would never do anything to hurt us. He can protect is from them.” Phoenix muttered calmly in my head, urging me to open up to him.
I really want to tell him everything but there are some things that even an Alpha like him couldn’t handle. How do I tell him that I am the great white wolves that the king has been searching for all these years??
It would put him in a very risky position because he may try to defy the king and protect me and that will not only cost him his title as Alpha, it would definitely get him killed also.
Maybe I can hide my wolf from him and everyone else. He doesn’t feel my Aura and he hasn’t asked any questions about my wolf yet. I would hide it for as much as I can. I could hide Phoenix until he finally convinces his pack and the king to accept me as his mate.
After making up my mind, I cleared my voice that sounded a little husky because of my tears, then I took a walk down memory lane and I shared my painful life story with him.
“I started with the story of my father Brandon Wellington. I told him the hidden tales behind my father’s rebellion, how he met the rogue leader and why he decided to work with the rogues.
The majority of the rogues that my father met were only banished from their packs because they spoke up against the king’s tyranny. The King was creating a system that made lycans feel like gods to werewolves.
The Lycans must own the larger share of everything and they take whatever they wanted from us and we have no say in it. The rogues only want to be treated fairly.
They tried to pitch their ideas to the king on several occasions but the king ordered for their execution, that was why they kept running and hiding in the shadows.
I told him how the rogues wanted my father to ambush the king and his family on several occasions but my father never wanted to cheat just to get the throne. He chose to do things the right way and he challenged the king to a combat.
The King cheated yet again because he did not wait for the agreed date. He just showed up one day, taking them unaware and he got them all killed.
My father would not have won the battle even if the king had waited for the deal day, but he would have sent his family away first and he would have gone alone to save his men.
I told him how the king had forced his son to reject me just a few minutes after he murdered my father.”
I noticed his body tensed up when I told him about my first rejection. It must hurt him to know that his mate had faced rejection at such an early age. If only he knows that the prince’s rejection is the least of the things I had been through in my life.
“I told him how I was treated at the River moon pack. I could feel the anger flowing out of him in waves as I tell him of the Our Alphas son and his friends and the way they always beat me up or play pranks on me that would put me in trouble with the Luna.
When I finally got to the point where I got rejected and humiliated, he just couldn’t take it anymore. He stood up in anger and started pacing the room angrily as he tried to control his anger.
You could feel the brunt of his anger from a thousand miles away. His eyes have turned a bright red, just the way they shined when he found me with Declan at the restaurant earlier this evening.
I paused my story as I watched his every movement and reaction as he paced the room. He must have felt my gaze on him because he turned his gaze to me and stared fixated on me, looking deep into my soul with his bright red eyes.
I just couldn’t look away from those eyes. I saw the transformation as his eyes turned to it normal caramel color and he offered me a warm smile.
I responded with a warm smile of my own as he walked back and sat back in his previous position.
“Sorry cupcakes, I didn’t mean to flip on you. I just let my anger take control of me. I can’t believe you went through all that. Am sorry I didn’t save you when I had the chance.
So, tell me cupcake, how did you escape from the silver moon pack, how did you get to be so wealthy??” he asked me calmly.
“I ran away,” I said with a cheeky smile.
“What??
You’re kidding me right??
How did you manage to run away from a pack full of wolves???” he asked in amazement.
I couldn’t help chuckling a little as he gazed down at me in surprise. I then told him how mom died and how I sneaked moms corpse and dad’s money out without their knowledge.
Within a few hours after meeting him, I have told him everything there is to know about me. Funny enough, I feel so free after pouring my heart to him. it feels like a huge weight have been lifted from my shoulder.
This is not the first time that am telling someone about my past. I told Debbie everything too but I never felt this way after telling her.
It feels like he just took away my pain, just like he promised. I feel so relieved when he pulled me closer and assured me that everything is going to be fine.
“I fell asleep in his arms a few minutes after pouring out my heart to him. For the first time in so many years, I slept so soundly and somehow, my bad dreams disappeared completely.
I never knew how much I needed him until today.
