Expecting a blow on his arm by the two girls and a soaring high-five from the shameless elder brother, Alex and Ravine agree to shop together with the siblings.
“Let’s go in here.” Cassandra sticks to Ravine like glue as they giggle and enter a shop together. Ravine felt at ease than the slight awkwardness of sticking with Alex for a longer time here at the mall. She was glad they had bumped into each other.
As anyone could guess, Louis takes all the bills to his account and pays 5800$ for the girls’ shopping at different shops. Alex was stunned to see the girls kiss his cheek as a token of gratitude. He wanted a kiss as well!
“Girls, let’s eat there. I’ll pay!” The poor guy volunteers, only for Ravine to turn the offer down. However, the happy little kid couldn’t contain her excitement all until she got the food brought to her table. The three enjoy watching her eat a quantity enough to feed a baby elephant.
Burping cutely at the end, she pats her bloated stomach and thanks Alex for the 730$ bill.
“Yeah… no problem.” He says, watching the little dent in his savings account.
Louis and Ravine were snickering to themselves in the corner at his deflated face. Perhaps Cassandra thought that the Johnsons had a great allowance after reaching 20 years of age.
“Should’ve clicked a picture. He looked so shocked and bitter seeing the bill, oh god!” Ravine whispers to Louis who agrees with a serious nod.
“Well, I believe the shopping for today is done?”
“Yes, yes it’s done. And please take him back with you Louis. He barged into my house today.” Complains Ravine to the eldest, the disciplinarian in charge of the Johnson siblings.
“Ah, so that’s why your brothers called me to pick them up. How irresponsible, Alex. You know you’re the only one with the car. Did you leave Dan, Nick and Zayn to face the public on their own? Shame on ya.” Louis says. He puts his glasses on, continuing his lecture at the lovestruck Alex.
“Don’t you know it’s bros before ho-” Louis felt threatened even before he could complete the sentence. The two girls stared hard into his soul, he was deathly intimidated.
“I- I mean, sibling hives before future wives, right?” Alex makes a funny face, earning a good smack slap on his shoulder from the taller sibling.
“Nice cover, brother. Anyway, Ravine, you can drive yourself home, right? Keep his car for the weekend.”
“Hey! Who allowed you to say that? It’s my car. Also, let me drop you home, baby. It’s a little too late for beauties like you to drive home alone.” Alex says.
“Quit it. He’s trying not to share his wheel with you, Ravine. What a player.” Cassandra taunts him as the male’s eye twitches.
“Can the hoe without a relationship just stand to the side? Could have been better before. Flatty.” At Alex’s words, Cassandra drops her jaw to the floor and so does Louis and Ravine. They watch the cat and dog fight between Cassandra and Alex as they tug at each other’s hair.
“Okay, okay alright! Calm down you two. Alex, go drop her home and I want you to be back as soon as you drop her home.”
“Jeez, what are you? My mom?”
“Better than that. I’m your brother, bitch. Now shoo. Bye, Ravine!” Holding Cassandra, who grumbles at Alex, he waves to Ravine, who kisses his cheek again. Just to make her boyfriend mad that he won’t be kissed that way.
However, Alex taps her shoulder and throws the keys her way when they reach the red car.
Stunned, Ravine looks at him for confirmation.
“The wheel is yours, babe.” He says to her. Thrilled to drive the Ferrari again after a long, long time, Ravine fastened her seat belt and revved up the sexy engine of the car.
“That’s my girl,” Alex smirks at his girl, she smiles back before pressing on the acceleration.
“Woo-hoo!!” Alex feels the thrill of the shotgun seat experience after a long time as well.
Ravine drives through the lanes and the traffic as if she owned the city. Alex loved her wilderness, embraced her crazy side and was glad that she was willing to show the rare side of hers to him. He felt special because ninety-nine per cent of the time, Ravine was either as calm or cold as the North Pole.
“Whoa.” Alex looks to his side. She stopped by a little stream of water and announced that she wanted to walk on the bridge.
“Let’s hope Louis won’t be waiting at home to scold you for going home late,” Ravine says, shutting the door to the car softly after climbing down.
“Yeah. He’s quite like our mother these days. He loves being caring for us. Papa reared him to be that way.”
“I agree,” She says. Walking side by side, she lifts his arm manually to get under his arm, to be embraced as they walk together along the banks.
“You know,” Ravine says when they reach the bridge, “I always admired your family. Sr. Johnson did a great job at raising six siblings together. It’s… magical how he managed to do it. And on the other hand, there are my parents.” She expresses.
“You’re living a life full of expectations, Ravine. I’m sorry to say this, but when you told me how you rebelled against them five years ago for your freedom, I knew you were living in such a world.”
“What do you mean?” She asks him softly. Pressing her to the railing gently, he places his arms on either side of her body, holding onto the railing.
“I mean, that you aren’t living for yourself. You don’t take what’s given to you, and I love that attribute of ya. But, think about it. You’re gonna find so much peace in accepting everyone’s shits and taking revenge on them later. It’s called, killing them with kindness.”
Ravine chuckles at his theory.
“That’s downright villainous right there, Alex. But, he’s my father. I cannot hold anything against him.”
“What about your stepmother?” As he says, she rolls her eyes.
They both chuckle at her reaction.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought. I have something for your stepmother though. In fact, for James Lee as well.”
“What are you planning to do?” Ravine lifts her eyebrow when he fishes his phone out.
“You see, Louis sets an example in our family for many things. And do you know what I learned from him?”
“What?”
“Villainy. Pure, wicked, Villainy.”
