Unsolving mystery

Book:The Forbidden Reverse Harem Published:2025-2-8

Cassandra was in front of the sage, the old monk in the shrine. She sat cross legged when suddenly her head began spinning. She couldn’t reason for this, it happened out of the blue.
Then, like Zayn, she began seeing images.
“C-Cassie… I’m sorry…” the man covered in blood takes her hand. He kisses it softly. He doesn’t move at all again.
Her breath hitched as she couldn’t figure out what that wide-eyed dream was about. The man looked so similar to Zayn, but he looked young and not as manly as the Zayn she knew. Also, the man called her the same way she was called, “Cassie…”
“Do you see something, dear child?” The monk asks her. She nods her head while tears began forming in her eyes. People who passed by thought she was having a really hard time. They found her weird to be crying out in public, that too in front of a sage.
“W-what was that…?” Cassandra was afraid to hear from the monk. She thought it was their future. But it was quite the opposite.
She hears Zayn blabber on and on in the phone. She couldn’t hear him nor ask him what he saw either.
“Zayn…? Where- where are you?”
“Don’t worry, it won’t happen in the future.” The monk says.
“What…?” As confused as ever, she brings her eyebrows together.
“The dreams that you both have, it isn’t an indication for the future.” His riddles were puzzling her. She was not in her stable mind and the man was fucking with her brain. She was beginning to lose her anger. Even Zayn cuts the call as he runs out of his mansion. He needed to see her and make sure the event wasn’t happening as seen.
They both fail to understand, that it cannot happen as seen in their dreams.
Because the event has already happened.
And their dreams, weren’t dreams.
They were memories.
….
“Cassie! Cassie! Cassandra!” The man keeps calling her name. He was inside the shrine, ripping the place apart to find her. He was panicking, even more so when she wasn’t picking his calls. His anxiety knew no bounds, while he was being stared at by the people.
They found the crying man, shouting someone’s name out of his lungs a hindrance to their spiritual prayers. But how could he even help himself? He saw a vision which looked so realistic that he wanted to save her by hook or crook.
Even if it means he will die when it happens.
He was running around, he’s already taken three laps around the interior shrine. He was losing patience as he began overthinking to the worst possibilities.
“I shouldn’t have sent her out alone, fuck…” his worst imagination was getting to him. He couldn’t help it either.
“Please pick up, please pick it up…” he keeps praying.
On the fourth lap around the shrine, his frantic search was acknowledged by a monk who was roaming around. He approaches Zayn, tapping his back.
“What is making your run, my son?” He asks Zayn. Suddenly, he gets an idea of what to do.
“S-sir, I lost a girl in the crowd. Her name is… nevermind. She looks like this.” Zayn hastily swipes through his photo gallery and shows the monk her picture. The old man squints his eyes and smiles.
“That girl was sitting by a tree in the park beside. Haven’t you seen while running here, son?” The monk says. Zayn was a little sceptic of how accurate was the monk’s memory about Cassandra, who he’s seen only once.
The old monk smiles. It was his own brother who was talking to Cassandra a while ago. The Tantric was him, his brother.
“T-thank you.” Zayn dashes off to the said tree. He was panting like a dog, he sees Cassandra’s back. She was sobbing non stop as he pounces on her from behind.
“Ow!” She yelps when Zayn tackled her to the ground.
“I was worried! Where were you!?” He screams at her.
The two lovers were sobbing. Cassandra’s spectacles went flying because of Zayn, but she couldn’t care less. She hugs the man, turning on her back. The people were now getting way too uncomfortable.
“I- I’m sorry! My phone died all of a sudden I-”
“Don’t talk!” He yells.
“I don’t know what I’ll do to you because you worried me so fucking much! I hate you, Cassie, I hate you!”
“I know…” softly kissing his hair, she jumps back to reality. She observes how people were starting to stare at them.
They walk out of the scene they created.
Zayn’s abruptly parked car was filed for a fine as he apologizes and pays to the officer. Cassandra felt very guilty, all because of her phone dying on her.
“The first thing I must do is learn your phone number. I’ve been in a wreck and- and your driver just left me without saying anything.” Zayn was putting his seatbelt as Cassandra sheds a few tears and explains. Her situation was bad, but as Zayn was unaware of everything, his was worse.
“I’m sorry, Cassie. I should’ve come with you.” He pats her head as she hums softly, sadness filled up to the brim. The strict traffic police officer was standing there, waiting for them to leave.
Zayn pulls out and begins driving at the slowest place possible.
“So, what’d he say?” Taking a deep breath in, Cassandra begins to explain.
“Our dreams weren’t an indication to the future.” She says.
“What?” He was in a total disbelief.
“It… it was our memories from the past. I’ve read at the library too. It told everything about how people start to get these weird Deja Vu and they begin to think they’re psychic or crazy.” She says to him. He was driving like a bullock cart, as slow as he can. They park at the roadside as he switches the engine off. He needed to know everything.
“Hmm, and?” He asks. She wipes her tears which flowed out non stop.
“I can’t believe we are seeing the past and… and that’s the worst way we could have died.” She cries, getting in touch with her morale. It was truly a sudden end to their reincarnations.
“So… you believe we are reincarnations, Cassandra? Are you sure it’s not a fairytale?” She looks at him, thinking how could he be so stupid and oblivious to the signs.
“Zayn, if it was really a made up fairytale I’m saying, we wouldn’t have those visions and I wouldn’t have a giant scar on my belly.” Says the woman.
Now that he knew, he too reveals that he had a scar on his belly, but like two scars intersecting each other.
