Lucid dreams persist

Saying goodbyes after a long time spending with each other was hard. The sun was almost rising up, illuminating the world. They were up all night, trying to figure out a good damn reason for their weird dreams.
They planned on one thing.
“I’ll go research about it in the library. They’re quite some books I need to revise. About Rebirth.” Says the girl, the man nodding.
“Good. Thank you. And… and I’ll go to the basement of my house. It’s locked away and dad never let me, nor anyone go there. I just hope mom doesn’t oppose me.” Says the man.
“That’s good. I feel like we will find something way too valuable and… heartbreaking.” She says as she holds her aching chest. A shudder passes through her body. Zayn hugs her tighter to calm her down. She breathes on his chest and finds solace.
“Let’s go now. Will you say your goodbyes?” Zayn was dramatist the parting as Cassandra laughs and participates in his little drama.
“Yes of course~ Never shall we meet again, Romeo.”
“Oh, Juliet~” laughing silently, the two begin to shuffle on their feet.
“Next time you come to my house, let’s have a dance together.” He says out of the blue. Her eyebrows furrow but she nods nonetheless.
“A dance you say? Granted.” She wears her slippers as he does too.
Jumping back out of the window, they see the dimming streetlights in front of the rising sun. Cassandra pinches the bridge of her nose while chuckling, “Our eyes look so swollen right now.”
“Haha, I agree.” He laughs along with her, holding her waist gently.
They walk as slowly and meticulously, like a cat, as possible. The grass however made some crunching noise in the morning. The birds chirping had a little music effect in the background too.
“Shit, we’re creating some nice beats.” He says, high as a kite from no sleep.
“You’re hilarious in the morning, professor.”
“Cassie, please don’t call me that while we’re dating.” He whispers, indeed they talk only in whispers. The man slowly opens the gates, ensuring no noise is made.
“Milady.” He opens it for her. “Oh why thank you.” She too plays around, swiping her hair behind her ear poshly.
“So, let’s meet again on 5th January, I guess. You said you’d come by to the staff room to get your things.” He confirms with him.
“Yes, I’ll be saying goodbye to my sweet batch of students once and for all.”
“Well, it’s not like you’ll never see us again.” Cassandra argues cutely. The man couldn’t help but pinch her chin like people do when they find cute kids. For him, she’s still a little girl. A small cute girl from his class of students.
“Come on.” The man says, opening his arms. She gives him a heartfelt hug, one that opens up her heart and let’s him read it.
“Thank you for staying up all night with me.” Cassandra says, the man rubbing her back.
“I’ll never leave you alone, Cassandra. See you.” He says, entering his car. The girl stands outside her fence until the man leaves. She forgot she had to kiss his goodbye, but that was quite alright. She felt as though they shall meet again soon.
5th January arrived soon.
Cassandra started her school again and there was an eerie feeling about everything around her. It was as if the entire school was staring at her for something she did. Her eyes were wide and looking around. She didn’t like the stares.
Why was everyone looking at her that way?
“What is happening? Why’s everyone looking at you like that Cassie?” Ravine asks, she herself being stared at. “I- I have n-no idea…”
“What a whore.” Someone comments out of the blue. They both heard them. “What the fuck do you mean?” Ravine charges on the girls who said that to Cassandra. Actually, she wasn’t sure where the words were directed to.
“Oh, now they act like they don’t know. Why don’t you check the website and know it for yourself?” Says the girl as Cassandra quickly whips out her phone. She enters the school website.
It was a disturbing image of Cassandra- obviously edited perfectly to give a head to the football captain of the new group. His name was Maxwell Cambell. Unfortunately for Cassandra, the whole campus knew he was taken by the popular girl Elise and they really were into each other.
At once, Cassandra runs towards her senior class group.
“E- Elise!” She blasts into the room, just to find the said girl surrounded by many people of her class. The girl was weeping her heart out. The boy, Maxwell was not present today.
“Look, it’s her!” Someone points to her. Elise at once rises from her chair, banging the furniture to the floor.
“You BITCH!” She screams in agony. If it wasn’t for Ravine interfering and stopping Elise from slapping Cassandra, her glasses would have flown to the other side of the class and her face baked red.
“Stop it!! Where’s the fucking proof that happened!?” She yells.
“I called him, dammit!! He didn’t argue with me! He’s fucking guilty and you! You’re such a whore! Should’ve known, after all your friendship is with a pest whore anyway! Argh!!” Stomping her feet to the ground, Elise exits out of the class.
Cassandra wanted to argue with her, to take her filthy words back. They didn’t have to drag Ravine into this.
“Y-you okay?” Suddenly, Cassandra realises something.
“Sir Zayn is back! I’ll go get his autograph before he permanently leaves! Oh, I know he’s going to be so successful!” One fan girl cries. Cassandra begins panicking, because the issue might have reached his ears already.
Her worst possible fears came true.
“Sir! Professor Zayn!”
“Sir! Sir, can I get your autograph please!?”
“Sir, just one autograph!”
All the girls flock around his cabin, but Cassandra felt bitter when he wasn’t responding to anyone from inside.
“E- excuse me!” Cassandra tries to sweep her way through but it doesn’t work.
Suddenly, she receives a text from Zayn.
“Come from the backside window of this staffroom.” He says on the text.
Cassandra starts running towards the window as instructed.
