At The Tourist Center
After Denise and his team drove off, Robin took Jude to one of the single rooms and informed him, “This is your room for now. Make yourself comfortable.”
“Thank you for this, Sir.”
“Do not mention it. Do you want your dinner to be served here, or would you have it at the restaurant?”
Jude, who was not exposed to such a dignified life, looked at him for a while before he made up his mind, “I will prefer here.”
“It is all right. That is the menu list on the table. Let me have your order at once.”
He looked at the menu and quickly placed his order, and volunteered, “I can pick it by myself if you permit me.”
“Oh! Never mind. I will be back before you know it,” the Security Officer said and left with the order.
For three years, Jude had not lived in a house nor slept on a bed. That night, he would not only sleep in a room and on a bed, but in a Five Star Tourist Center. The kind of cars that he saw in the car park revealed the caliber of guests that lodged at the center.
“For the first time in three years, I am going to eat without committing a crime,” he said aloud and sat on the chair.
He turned on the television, and to his expectation, the news of the explosive flooded the news, and the broadcaster concluded.
(Presently, the level of damage has not been ascertained. So far, no death has been recorded. More updates will come your way later.)
He smiled as he rested his head on the headrest of the chair to relax, then he heard a knock on the door. He jolted the way he used to do when he was running away from the authorities or hiding after an operation. When he remembered that he was not in any dilemma, he urged, “Yes, come in, the door is not locked.”
The Security Officer opened the door and a chef walked in with a tray of food and drinks.
‘This was beyond what I ordered,’ he thought before the Security Officer broke his reverie, “Feel free to contact me or any of the security guards around if you need anything.”
“It is noted. Thank you, Sir.”
“You are welcome,” the Security Officer said before he left with the chef.
Jude smiled and looked at his dinner joyously while he prayed silently not to return to the life of crime. After his meal, he took his bath leisurely. When he got out of the bathroom, he dressed up with the set of pajamas that was in the wardrobe.
However, he said his prayers again, (I will lift my eyes unto the hills. Where will my help come? My help will come from the Lord, who made the heaven and the earth) before going to sleep.
At Denise’s Apartment.
He got home later than usual and was thinking of the explanation he would give to his wife that would justify his coming back late.
Nevertheless, her comment aided him in cooking up an explanation. As usual, she walked out to welcome him in the car.
“Good to have you back, Hubby. I got your message.”
Now, Denise, who had a lot on his head, had forgotten that he sent a message to her earlier on.
“Thank you, for your understanding, dear,” he responded with relief.
Then, Olivia continued, “With the kind of traffic jam I saw on the television, I was not expecting you back this early.”
‘Why should I tell lies when it was not necessary?’ he asked himself and gave her a peck.
“Did you and the baby pray for my safe return?” He asked her and rubbed her baby bump.
“Yes, we did. Welcome back.”
“Thank you, Wifey.”
They got out of the car and walked to the apartment.
Then, Olivia reminded him of Freya’s promise, “Hubby, Freya, promised to bring Daniel tomorrow. Are you aware?”
“Oh! That will be fine because I will be busy tomorrow.”
“Wow. I thought you would be at home tomorrow with us.”
“I will be free from noon.”
“It is all right.”
They had their dinner and retired for the night.
Saturday Morning. At Lorene’s Apartment.
It had been a competition of who had more sex drive than the other and a weekend shutdown. The television was not on. His phone was switched off to avoid disturbances. Besides, he may get a business call from the likes of the wolves or Jude, which may give him away. As for his son, Tim, they hardly communicate because he is not part of his life. As for his women here and there, they only chat when they need each other.
Although Lorene’s phone was on, it was in silence mode. She woke up and checked her phone and discovered that Evelyn had called her several times.
“Seven missed calls. Oh my God,” she exclaimed.
She tried to call back but saw the message that she sent. Then, she read through it.
(Something came up, Lorene. Let us meet at the hospital by 7 AM)
She checked the time, and it was 6:30 AM.
(Peck)
“My attention is needed at the hospital. I will be right back,” she informed him after giving him a peck.
“It is all right. I hope there is no problem?” he asked her.
“I don’t think it would be something serious,” she responded and dressed up.
Thereafter, he walked her to the door, locked it, and returned to the room to catch some sleep. He hardly rested when he heard the doorbell. (Ding)
“Did she forget anything?” He asked himself worriedly and walked back to open the door.
Meanwhile, he was putting on only his boxers and exposing his hairy chest. He opened the door without asking a question. To his amazement, he saw an entirely different face. A lady who was sexually dressed, smiling freely and revealing her beautiful dentition.
Then, she greeted him, “Hi, Mr. Bailey. I am Evelyn, Lorene’s friend. She asked me to wait for her.”
“She did …”
He wanted to say, ‘She did not say she was expecting anyone’ before she interrupted him and explained.
“She does not need to tell you because something came up at the hospital.”
With her explanation, he was convinced that she was Lorene’s friend.
“Come in,” he declared and opened the door for her.
“Thank you, dear,” she responded and walked in happily.
Meanwhile, Stephen did not bother himself to look at her nor notice her sexy wear.
“Kindly take your seat. She will be back soon,” he gestured her to a couch and began to walk back to the bedroom.
Nichole was right when she addressed them as hawks and poachers. Instead of taking her seat, she held him by the hand and remarked, “You are more handsome than she described.”
At that point, Stephen’s steps froze as he gave her a reprimanding look.
