Now, the chanting increased and was heard in different directions.
“Run for your lives. Explosive,” they shouted on top of their voices.
Meanwhile, the Police Squad, who were at the scene to maintain law and order, retreated at once with their vehicles when they heard ‘explosive’. It was the same story with the media crew, who could not pan their cameras. They dismantled their tripod stands and headed for the hills. Due to the turbulence, there was gridlock on the major road, which made vehicles impossible because some motorists ran out of their vehicles shambolically with their ignitions on.
The pedestrians who were more interested in fleeing the area, were reckless about traffic rules. They impetuously crossed the roads, leaving the motorists who just got out of work dumbfounded.
Nevertheless, everyone in the race had an idea of where they came from and where they were running to, except Jude, who had momentarily forgotten that he had not had any meal since the previous day. At that point, he was between death and Stephen, and he chose death.
“I would rather die than be used by Mr. Stephen Bailey as a killer anymore,” he mumbled and kept running in the same direction with the others.
Suddenly, the unexpected happened. They heard a low and deep sound. (Boom) Likewise, the two angry visitors with knapsacks were running for their lives too. When Jude sighted them, he ran along with them, having had a nodding conversance with them a few minutes ago.
Meanwhile, the two visitors were running towards their jalopy, with the security officer in the driver’s seat waiting for them at their agreed spot. They envisaged that the gridlock that the explosive would cause would not catch up with them from that spot. The driver opened the doors for them the moment he saw them coming towards him and they tried to get in.
Suddenly, they heard the voice they heard a few minutes ago at the resort.
“Hey! I think we are going the same way. Can I get a ride from you?” Jude requested.
“Hop in,” Denise, who was standing at the passenger’s door, said, and Jude got into the back seat with Phil, who gave him a warm smile.
Denise got into the car, too, and the driver took off in the midst of the disarray.
Now, the large blast wave from the explosive had hit the buildings at the resort. The sounds of cracking in the walls were heard as they blew apart the six buildings in the resort, including the underground. Subsequently, they collapsed at once with a big bang. (Whack)
Meanwhile, Denise’s driver had gained speed ahead of the other drivers and the people walking to their various destinations. Soon, they were at the Island by Denise’s Tourist Center.
Due to the presence of Jude, he parked at the gate leading to the home of the indigent residents and waited for their new acquaintance to get off. To their revelation, he was not aware that he should alight. He was waiting for them to alight too.
When he was not making any move, Phil, who was beside him, called his attention, “We are home, Young man.”
Then, Jude looked at his new friends, whom he believed were beggars judging by their kind of car and looks, with teary eyes. He had bottled up the tears right from when Stephen began to ignore him. All the same, he had to cast his pride aside and ask for alms from beggars if he must survive.
At Lorene’s Apartment
At the close of work, Lorene got home happily expecting the man who would make her the First Lady of the Bailey family. Nevertheless, the doorbell’s sound came at once, and she dropped her purse on the table and walked back to open the door. As she expected, Stephen was at the door, looking more handsome and confident.
“Wow! You look charming,” she praised him.
Then, he gave her a charming smile before he greeted her, “Thanks for the compliment, and a good day to the woman who had stolen my heart.”
“A good day to you, too. Come in,” she announced and opened her arms.
They hugged each other tightly and it ended with a kiss.
She released him thereafter and offered him, “Please, take your seat. I will be back.”
“I will, but …,” he paused and she halted.
He grabbed her hand and resumed another round of kissing.
Then he whispered to her, “… I will take you first. You satisfied me the way no one ever did.”
Lorene, whose sex drive suddenly increased after she got out of bed with him that morning, was elated with his commendation and she complied.
Soon they were in their nature, and they took each other without remembering the lunch. They took a break at dinner.
“You are the best,” she complimented him happily.
“You are too good. I thought I had a high sex drive, but you proved me wrong,” Stephen said while they were at the dinner table.
Likewise, Lorene smiled shyly and asked him, “What do you mean by ‘I proved you wrong’?”
He smiled in his innocent way, gave her a peck, and responded, “I was going gently with you because I felt you would be tired by now, but you are still as strong as a horse.”
She was pleased with the remark and she responded, “I am glad to hear that I pleased you.”
“Certainly.”
“That made the two of us. I can cope,” she promised him.
When Stephen was sampling women and searching for the right partner, he was looking for someone like Lorene. Unfortunately, she came up late. His high sex drive had made it difficult for him to establish and sustain stable and quality relationships. When he said he was going gently with her, he was looking for someone else to satisfy his urge because he is not a one-woman man. To avoid ruining her day, he played along.
She watched him as he was eating his food joyously and asked him, “Do you like my cooking?”
He was taken aback and stopped suddenly. He swallowed his morsel and responded, “As you can see, I’m eating it just as I ate the cook.”
She laughed seductively and put him in the mood again.
“I need to eat the cook before I continue,” he said and grabbed her.
“I’m all yours,” she said and complied.
