While they were relaxing, Mr. Fields saw the occasion as the right moment to delve into the discussion he had with Denise concerning Olivia’s decision to be self-employed.
“Angel,” he called out.
Olivia and Denise looked away from the television simultaneously and fixed their gazes on him.
“Yes, Mr. Fields,” she answered him.
“Your husband had told me of your plans to be self-employed.”
She looked at her husband before she faced him and answered, “Yes, Mr. Fields.”
“That is good to know. So, what are your plans?”
“Thank you for your concern. I have designed a website for tutorials on ICT. I intended to hold online classes for students who may be interested.”
“Wow! I like that. Did you design the website by yourself?”
“Yes. I designed it by myself.”
Denise, who had not created a suitable time to look into her project, was dazed by her brilliance. Then, Nicholas continued, “That is good. The e-commerce website will help you.”
Now, Olivia refuted, “No Mr. Fields. It was not an e-commerce website that I designed but an educational website.”
“Wow! Are there differences? I thought a website is a website.”
Olivia smiled and corrected his erroneous impression, “There are differences, and they are used for different purposes. What I need is an educational website that will intensify online learning and complement classroom lectures.”
“You are indeed prepared. I like that. What kind of website do I need as a movie producer and director?”
“The movie industry is broad. It all depends on what you want to design the website for promotion of movies, training for upcoming actors and actresses, and so on.”
“I see. Can you design one for me when I am ready?”
“I will be honored to be your web designer, Mr. Fields.”
“Thank you, so much, Angel.”
“You are welcome, Mr. Fields.”
Denise was excited and impressed with the business acumen of his wife. Then, he looked at the time and announced, “Thank you, Godfather and Godmother. It had been a pleasant morning.”
“You are right. It is nice having you.”
“Yes. We shall be on our way.”
Mrs. Fields furrowed her brow and revolted, “I don’t think you should leave without having lunch with us.”
Olivia looked at her husband for his approval, and he gave his consent.
“I was hoping that they would leave after dinner. Or Denise, are you on duty this evening?”
“No, Godfather. I’m off PM Shift until further notice.”
“That is good to hear. Then, why are you rushing? This is your home as well,” he concluded.
He gave Olivia a questioning look and she accepted.
Denise complied too, “No problems, Godfather. We shall leave after dinner.”
Denise’s reason for leaving was to have a feel for his wife. Now, he had to adjust. So, they got into the guest room and after a few minutes, Denise voiced his worries, “How can we remain with these clothes until dinner, especially me, after the walkout?”
“That is true. Let us check the wardrobe for pajamas. You can change while we wash this.”
“You are right.”
Before he could walk to the wardrobe, he heard a knock on the door. He stopped and looked at his wife before he looked at the door and asked, “Who is that?”
“It is me, Sir. The janitor.”
Denise walked to the door and opened it. He handed over two sets of pajamas to him.
“Thank you, Janitor,” he appreciated him.
“You are welcome, Sir.”
He looked at his wife and said, “They must have read our minds.”
“You are right.”
Subsequently, Denise took his bath, and they changed into the set of wears, which made their stay more comfortable. Likewise, he handed the walkout wears to the janitor for laundry.
Now, he was too occupied with his wife. So, he was not aware of Julie’s comments nor his brother’s silence.
At The Bailey’s Native Home.
Arthur woke up before lunch and discovered that Nichole was not beside him and was hysterical. He got out of bed with a start and began to dress up to look for her. Meanwhile, his mind was running to and fro many things.
Suddenly, Nichole walked out of the bathroom and said, “You are up, my dear.”
He was startled to hear her voice but concealed his fear. He held her closer to his chest and responded, “Yes. How are you, Nichole?”
“I’m fine. And you?”
“I’m fine.”
“I want to go to the kitchen and find out what the chef is preparing for lunch.”
To avoid her staying out of his sight, he disagreed, “Don’t bother yourself. We will eat anything that they prepare.”
Nichole raised her head, looked into his eyes, and said, “If you say so.”
(Peck)
Arthur gave her a peck and released her. Then, they sat on the couch, turned on the television, and began to watch. He was not interested in the movie, but Nichole was because it was directed by Denise’s Godfather. Now, he picked up his phone and checked the family platform posts. The first comment he saw after the time he logged in was from Julie.
(What is the problem with this classless fool? Why can’t he mind his business?)
(He does not have any business to mind, but Denise had given him one.)
(Really. What happened?) Julie inquired.
(He gave him the beating of his life.)
(That is good. He can report to the authorities if he has the nerves.)
Now, the hysterical Arthur could not believe what he was reading. When Denise said he should stay out of it and that he would handle it, he thought that it would be pending. Then, he looked at Nichole, who was watching her movie attentively and decided to watch the CCTV Footage.
‘Ha!’ he exclaimed after watching.
‘Freya and Denise fought such a battle on behalf of their mother and me while we were sleeping. That is good,’ he smirked in triumph.
He shook his head and looked at Nichole. However, he wished he could keep her away from the whole drama.
‘How can he say that I am using the woman who had loved my children even while her husband was alive as a nanny? I wish I could marry her tomorrow and put an end to this dilemma,’ he thought.
Likewise, he carefully picked up her phone from the table and kept it away while he pondered on the incident.
‘What if Stephen reports to the authority? Youngsters will always act before they consider the repercussions. Anyway, I will wait for his next move. Silly dog.’
Soon, it was time for lunch. They had their lunch and afterward, returned to the bedroom. Although they had five more days to their marriage, it appears like an eternity.
Then, Nichole asked the most dreaded question, “Can we drive around the town in the evening?”
