*One month later*
“Hey muffin,” Tristan smiled as he walked to the VIP room where Isabella was. It’s been a month after surgery, it was successful but Isabella was yet to wake up. She was in a coma. And just like every other day, Tristan was here to see her. He would change the tulip flower he bought the previous day to a new one, every day that he was here.
It’s been a crazy month for him, Isabella’s friends and her family were so supportive and had been taking turns in taking care of him.
Tristan was happy that she was okay now, but he was devastated that they could not decide when she would wake up or how long it was going to take.
His beard wasn’t shaved, his hair had grown and he didn’t care to cut it. He looked a bit unkempt.
“I still have the ring you gave to me,” He smiled and held her palms while he stared at her trying not to be sad.
“And the necklace, I made sure everyone knows I belong to you,” He chuckled and looked at her, raising his head so that he didn’t cry in front of her.
“Muffin, I’m still waiting for you to fulfill your promise,” He sighed.
“So hurry up and get back to me, okay,” he smiled and kissed her hands. He stood up to open the window so that there could be sunlight in the room.
“I..” He heard a small sigh.
“Love,” He turned around abruptly, as he rushed to her.
“Love you,” She squeezed her face, and bet fingers moved while his eyes widened.
“Doctor? Nurse,” He yelled at the top of his voice and rushed outside her room calling out their names.
“Excuse us, Mr. Tristan,” A nurse rushed in with a doctor, as they pushed Tristan away and closer to the door rushing towards Isabella.
An hour went by, and right now Tristan was in the doctor’s office, waiting to be informed about the situation.
“Well, how is she?” He was impatient and wanted to know if everything was okay or if something happened. More especially wanted to hear that she was awakened already and they could give home. Don’t blame him, this past month home hasn’t felt like home anymore, without her.
“She’s good and she is awake now,” The doctor smiled at him, and he held his mouth in shock.
“Oh my God, are you for real?” His hands were shaking, as he asked the doctor nervously
“Yes, Mrs. Tristan is up now,” The doctor responded and a tear dropped from his eyes, while he looked so relieved hearing that.
“Thank you so much, doctor. Thank you,” He thanked the doctor profusely. His face was completely beaming and radiating with joy.
“Can I go see her now?” He asked excitedly, as he brought out his phone, reaching for the doorknob, but stopping halfway to get the doctor’s consent.
“Yes you can, but,” The doctor said and he stopped on his track, slowly turning around to look at the doctor, wondering what it was or if it was something bad.
“We are still running a few tests on her, so until the results are out, she remains in the hospital so we can keep an eye on her,” He explained to Tristan who sighed immediately.
“Okay then, anything else?” Tristan was impatient.
“Nothing else,” The doctor smiled at him and stood on his feet to walk with Tristan to see Isabella.
“Now can I go see my wife?” Tristan asked Impatient already.
“Yes of course sir, this way,” The doctor chuckled and directed Tristan as they walked away.
His heart leaped for joy that he could hold on and called Isabella’s mom to share the news.
“Hold on, give me a minute,” He excused himself and walked a few distance away before speaking into the phone.
“Hello Mom,” He said with a smile on his lips.
“Tristan, how are you, son?” She said over the phone.
“I’m fine, how’s everyone at home?” He asked.
“All good, did you have breakfast?” She asked him and he chuckled scratching the back of his head.
“I will soon,” He said, cause he couldn’t bring himself to lie to her.
“I’ll come down to LA next week,” He could feel her smile while saying that, and at that moment he was grateful for Isabella in his life and all the wonderful people he had around him because of her.
“Yes, and this time Isabella would be joining us,” He broke the news to her excitedly.
“What?” Mrs. Colin was shocked but she needed to hear it again to believe and convince herself that she didn’t hear wrong.
“Yes Mom, the doctor said she woke up already,” He said with a smile on his lips.
“Oh my gosh,” She cried over the phone.
“I’m coming over soon, tell her I said Hi,” She rushed her words.
“I will let her know, I wanted to tell you first even before I met with her,” A tear dropped from his eyes.
“What are you still waiting for? Go on and see her, I know you are beaming with smiles right now,” She said and he smiled nodding his head.
“I’ll do just that,” He said about to hang up when another call came and it was from Ava.
“I’ll call you back mom, Ava is calling,” He said staring at his phone.
“Okay, I’ll talk to you soon,” She responded and hung up, while he immediately swiped the green button and answered Ava’s call.
“Hi,” He said and turned to the dictionary, who seemed. To am busy speaking with a nurse already.
“Turn around,” She said and hung up, and he turned around, there she was walking towards him with a smile on her lips.
“How are you?” She said and gave him a light hug.
“I’m good, what are you doing here?” He asked her a bit confused.
“I got you breakfast, and I figured you would be leaving for work soon, so I wanted to stay with Isabel,” She smiled and handed over a polythene bag with food for him, which he received with gratitude.
“Well good thing you’re here, and good news is Isabella is awake,” He spilled happily to her.
“Oh my God,” She jumped up happily.
“Come on let’s see her,” She pulled him by his hand, and immediately the doctor joined them as they walked into the room.
“Isabella,” Ava rushed years brimming from her eyes, as she stood beside her bed smiling.
Isabella slowly fluttered her eyes open upon hearing her name, she turned to Ava directly and stared at her confused, when her brain started to help her recall.
“Ava?” She called out shocked..
“Oh my gosh, you’re awake,” Ava jumped on her giving her a tight hug, before quickly pulling away so that Isabella could catch her breath.
“There’s someone I know you want to see,” Ava said and moved aside while Tristan walked in front of her, with so much love and joy in his eyes.
“Muffin,” he said in relief, seeing her eyes open.
“How are you? Do you feel okay? Do you need anything?” He bombarded her with questions and sniffed in, reaching to hold her hands when she gave him a look of disgust.
“Who are you?” She said to him…
