“Arghh,” I screamed into the pillow completely overjoyed. “It’s not a dream,” I whispered and danced around in my room, with my hands in the air as I swayed my hips, smiling and closing my eyes, completely thrilled.
“Oh muffin, I am completely consumed by you, ” Those words replayed in my head and I giggled falling to the bed.
“Everything changes now,” I breathed out and fell on the bed giggling and kicking my foot in the air.
“Ma’am,” I heard a knock on the door and immediately cleared my throat before sitting on the bed.
“Come in,” I said calmly.
“Sir Tristan is waiting for you downstairs,” Rose said, and I nodded with a smile on my face.
“I’ll get dressed and be down soon,” I told her and wrapped the towel around my body more tightly, before walking to the closet to grab a blue Satin Night Dress and Dressing Gown. I wore it and walked out of my closet staring at myself from the full-length mirror in my room.
“Is it too much?” I asked staring at the night dress, I let my hair fall on my shoulder while I looked at myself. I quickly wrapped the dressing gown around since it didn’t have a rope, just in case I was revealing too much.
“Gosh, I’m way in my head,” I signed and grabbed my phone from my bag before stepping out of the room.
I walked down the stairs, slowly as I noticed Tristan in the hallway close to the living room on a call.
“Sending it to the editor, was what I wanted you all to do?” He seems slightly pissed and I didn’t want to intrude. So I finally got down the stairs and turned to the kitchen to have dinner when he turned around and looked at me.
“Yes whatever,” He replied and started to walk towards me, It suddenly felt chilling even though my gown was long sleeve, and I felt the need to rub my arms with my hands against the fabric.
“Yes do that, find an editor and get back to me ASAP,” He said, now already in front of me.
“Good,” He said and hung up from the call, staring at me.
“Hey,” He said so sweetly as he put his phone in his pocket and took my hands kissing the both of them so intentionally.
“Come on, let’s have dinner,” he said and held my hands as we walked to the dining room. I didn’t utter a word but gazed at my hands on his as we walked. I was frozen by the kisses he gave to my hands, and now this. This man was going to make me lose my breath completely if he continued like this, I thought a blush appearing on my cheeks.
He drew out a chair for me, and I sat down before he did. Our meal was served and we sat down to eat while staring at each other at instance. We didn’t say anything to each other but the air wasn’t tense. I felt good, it was beautiful.
A few minutes later, we were done with dinner and had climbed upstairs heading to our rooms. I didn’t want to go yet, I wanted to keep being around him even though we barely talked or said a word to each other, I still enjoyed his company very much. And still wanted to surround myself with him, even though it was already late.
“Goodnight,” I said to him, we were both at our door staring at each other before I said those words. Praying he didn’t respond, or say it back to me but he did.
“Goodnight muffin,” He said and I smiled and walked into my room.
“Damn,” I still wanted to see your face, I rested my back on the door and groaned before I climbed my bed.
I huffed and stared at the ceilings frustrated as I couldn’t sleep. I rolled from one side to the other side, forcing my eyes shut and hoping the sleep would come in that way but it didn’t. I covered myself with my duvet up to my face frustrated. I grabbed my phone from the drawer on my bed, and it was already midnight.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” I sighed and kept the phone back, closing my eyes and trying to force myself to sleep but just like before it didn’t work and was a total failure.
“What do I do?” I sat on the bed and sighed. I wore my flip-flops, grabbed my phone, and walked out of the room to have a wine or something. Anything to make me fall asleep I suppose. I walked out of the room and went to the kitchen, I brought out an ice cube from the fridge then a glass, and grabbed a bottle of wine.
The lights were turned off and the only thing I was using was the flashlights from my phone, which I dropped on the cabinet. I signed and poured myself the drink before taking action on it, as I sat down on the chairs close to the kitchen cabinet.
“Who’s there?” I heard someone say, which was followed by a yawn, I turned around and chuckled recognizing the voice, as I watched him approach where I was rubbing his eyes.
“Hey,” I smiled and sipped my wine, before placing it on the coaster.
“Can’t sleep?” He asked, and I nodded my head in response.
“Do you want a drink? I can pour you one,” I walked to the cabinet and grabbed another glass, before he could respond to me and poured him a drink.
“Here you go,” I said quietly, and passed the drink to him, while he finally pulled out a seat from the counter she sat down.
“Thank you,” I turned and smiled at him, before having another sip.
“Anyways, why can’t you sleep?” He turned to me, and the only source of light we had was the one coming from my phone.
“I don’t know,” he sighed heavily.
“What about you?” He added.
“I did try to but couldn’t, so I opted for a glass of wine,” I chuckled.
“Let’s hope it works then,” He smiled and we cheered to that and both took a sip of the wine.
We stayed there for a minute not saying a another word to each other and it was becoming awkward. I saw him stare at me and when our eyes locked he smiled at me, but I raised my eyebrows at him, sipping my wine and forcing a smile on my lips.
“What is happening? Why can’t we even communicate? We like each other so we should be able to talk to each other, right? Everything should just fix itself right?” My heart raced.
“Isn’t that how it works? Or am I missing something?” I panicked almost shattering the glass with my teeth.
“I need some help, what do I do?”
