I grabbed my phone and played music, after eating breakfast. It was time for my Sunday reset. I would be organizing my closet, and perfume and getting myself ready for Monday.
I walked to my closet and immediately started with my shoes, a lot of them were lying around on the floor. I sorted them in terms of color, and then started to clean the shelves and arranged them based on what I liked to wear frequently. After I was done with the shoes, I moved on to my bags, it was fairly organized and so I went on cleaning the ones that were kept outside without a glass door to close them. I did that and danced to the music I was listening to when Rose walked in with a basket.
“Are those mine?” I inquired staring at the clothes and she nodded smiling.
“What?” I frowned at her, and she snickered at the face I made.
“Nothing, you’re happy. Like very happy,” she said and I smiled at her. She wasn’t wrong, I felt happy and filled with so much energy. I had finally agreed with myself, I knew how I felt, and coming to terms with that gave me peace and joy. I like Tristan, and that was it.
“I’ll drop this in the closet,” she said and I followed her behind.
“Could you send these shoes for cleaning, also I would like the old bed sheet to be taken for washing,” I told her and she nodded with a smile. I grabbed the basket and started to put them in the right places. It was mostly my gym set and pajamas.
“The rest are in for ironing, right?” I looked at her as she smiled while helping me fold the rest of my gym shorts, as I hummed to the song. I fixed up everything and cleaned up the floor with Rose’s help.
“I’ll take the shoes,” She said and grabbed them, leaving the closet. I closed the door to the closet and released a deep breath staring at my room. I first walked to my vanity grabbed all my makeup brushes, took the make-up basket from the wardrobe it was stored in, and started to reorganize them.
While I was at it, Rose came in and took away the old bedsheets and pillowcases, then replaced them with a new one. I was done with the vanity, cleaning my makeup up, and organizing the makeup basket.
“I’ll be back to set your bath,” She said while I packed my hair in a ponytail, and threw the towel used to clean on the vanity table as I started to dance to the song playing. I was so immersed in it, that I didn’t notice anyone was paying attention to me until I turned around and there he was leaning against the door, gazing at me with a smile on his lips.
“Tristan,” I said in fright, holding my chest.
“What are you doing there?” I said and pushed my hair backward, as I quickly rushed to pause the song that was playing.
“I’m sorry,” he said and walked in fully,
“I didn’t mean to make you stop,” He smiled and was nice standing in front of me.
“No, you didn’t,” I laughed and kept staring at him, blushing hard.
“Rose said you’ve been busy,” He said.
“Yeah, just organizing the room and closet,” I said and smiled at him.
“It looks nice,” He complimented, and I felt proud of myself and the work I did.
“Anyways, why are you here?” I asked him, barely keeping eye contact with him. I suddenly felt nervous around him, now that I was aware of my feelings for him.
“Right? So Emily is leaving today or tomorrow morning,” he started, his hands in his pocket as he spoke.
“So she wanted you to help her with packing. According to her, it had something to do with girl’s times or whatever,” He explained and I chuckled.
“Sure thing, I’ll do that after I take a bath,” I told him.
“Okay, I’ll see you later I guess,” he sounded like we didn’t live together.
“Tristan,” I called his name when he was close to the door.
“Yes,” He turned around abruptly and I lifted my head to stare at him in the eyes.
“Thank you for breakfast,” I smiled at him, and he looked at me with a smile before leaving my room.
A few minutes later, Rose arrived and set up my bath, with scented oils and rose petals. I smiled in satisfaction as I got into the tub, and relaxed in it. I scrubbed my body and enjoyed the feeling of the warm water all over my body.
Forty minutes later, I finally got out of the tub and clad myself in my towel. I walked to the room, creamed my body thoroughly, and dried my hair with the hair dryer.
Once I was done, I walked into the closet and chose two two-piece earthly colored cloth. It had a free sweater with matching pants. After that, I put on my flip-flops and sprayed my perfume before leaving the closet. I walked to my room and stared at the mirror, thinking of how to pack my hair.
“Do I pack a ponytail or a messy bun?” I thought, raising my hair in a high bun while staring at the mirror to know if it looked good on me. After a few minutes, I later decided on the messy high bun and left the room, heading to the guest room where Emily stayed.
“Hey,” I said nervously, immediately I walked into her room.
“Oh it’s you,” She smiled and dropped the hanger on her hands to the bed. She walked up to me, with a smile on her face and pulled me to a hug, which was a shocker as I hesitantly reciprocated.
“I thought you weren’t going to come, so I had a little breakdown and messed up the room,” She rushed her words immediately as she pulled away from the hug.
“It’s okay, I had to organize my room. So sorry I was late,” I told her calmly and she breathed out in relief.
“No problem,” She smiled warmly at me and stared at the room skeptical.
“Alright, what do I do,” I said and pulled the sweater up to my elbow level, and helped her organize her clothes into her suitcase.
We kept organizing and then moved to her skincare and make-up suitcase and organized them until we were completely done with packing.
“I’ll leave this out here, you said you were wearing this to the airport right? ” I confirmed and kept it on her bed and she nodded her head.
“Oh my, we are done with everything,” she said and I smiled. I picked up my phone from the table in the room and noticed it was almost 6:30 pm making a sigh.
“Do you want to get something to eat, ’cause I’m starving,” I told her truthfully.
“Yeah, sure.” She said and I walked out of the door while she followed me from behind.
“Thank you for helping me, and I was wondering if maybe we could be friends and I could have your number or insta,” She asked nervously when she caught up with me, as we walked beside each other.
“Of course. I’ll love that, ” I told her sincerely and put my number into her phone. She dialed it and it rang on my phone before I swiped the red button. I tapped on the contact and then saved it on my phone.
“Hey ladies,” we chuckled together when we heard Tristan’s voice…
“Are you that excited to see us?” Emily asked grinning at him, as she moved over to him and tapped his shoulder.
“Of course I am,” He responded and stared at her, then back at me.
“You’re sure?” She winked at me, while I looked at her confused wondering what she meant.
“Or you’re just excited to see your wife,” Emily said, and I looked at them shocked, and taken aback by her words.
She knew that I was his wife? Did he tell her? All this while I have just been making up stories in my head and it’s been a misconception? Damn.
“Well maybe you’re right, she’s my wife after all,” Tristan responded and a blush appeared on my face that I could feel the hotness on my cheeks.
“Oh, look who is showing off now,” She walked to the living room, leaving the both of us alone.
“Hey,” He said and got closer to where I stood.
“You told her we are married?” I asked him and raised my head to stare at him. I knew the answer to my question, but I just wanted to hear him say it.
“Yes of course,” He looked confused and excited at the same time.
“Or wasn’t I supposed to tell her?” He looked worried now and stared at me.
“Of course you are,” I rushed and shook my head at him, reaching for his hands.
“It’s fine, I’m just excited,” I said and held his hands.
“Okay,” He breathed out in relief while I chuckled.
“Let’s go have dinner,” He said and I nodded when we pulled our hands away.
“Call Emily,” I told him, already walking to the dining room…
“Emily,” he yelled her name, while I chuckled and just shook my head.
