“Just ten minutes,” that what’s Tristan said and what Isabella thought. But it was past that time. They seem to have completely gone off to the dreamland.
Tristan snuggled to Isabella, while she turned around now holding him, with a smile on her lips as her eyes were tightly shut. They held onto each other looking so peaceful as they slept, in the arms of each other.
They stayed like that for the rest of the evening and even passed their dinner time. The housemaid and Rose didn’t know if they should wake them up or leave them till they got up on their own.
They had knocked on their door severally, though their knock was a little too light, but they just didn’t want to ruin this for the couple.
Mrs. Jacob, the older lady, and the house-in maid had later decided to let the couple be on their own. She and Rose was happy that they had slept in the same room, with each other.
“Let’s go,” Mrs. Jacob pulled Rose with her as they left their room, after peeping in to see that they were both soundly asleep.
An hour later after that, Tristan yawned a little, his eyes began to flutter a little before he fully opened them. He moved his face a bit and turned to see her lying there with her eyes closed. He smiled, so brightly as he stared at her.
“Thank you muffin,” he said and brought his face closer, kissing her on her forehead.
She squeezed her forehead and turned her body like she was about to wake up, he quickly closed his eyes and rested his head back, so she didn’t know he had awoken.
“Hmmm,” She said and stirred a little, her hand landed on his chest. She rubbed her hands on his chest like she could feel she was unfamiliar with the surface her hands were on, still humming until her eyes started to flutter open.
“Ten minutes,” she murmured, and her eyes were fully opened when she turned her head to see him lying beside her.
“Oh my God,” She gasped and sat upright abruptly. She stared at him, and at herself shocked as she realized that she had slept off and it was completely way past the ten-minute benchmark.
“F*ck,” She cursed out, and you could see the dread on her face when the realization hit her.
“Damn you Tristan,” she said out loud and rubbed her forehead frustrated and unsure of what to do. She turned to leave but stopped halfway and looked at him.
“Stop being around me,” She said and stared at his face, she looked at him like she was studying a specimen. She stares at his thick brows, his nose, his chin, and then his lips.
She felt her body tingle as she recalled the way she felt after touching his lips, and how soft it was. She sighed, in contemplation as she struggled to decide if she should leave or touch his lips.
But before she could arrive at that decision, her hands started to move towards his lips… She looked at him, as her finger brushed his lips and immediately she took her hands off feeling the electric shock. She felt her breathing hitch, as she pulled back.
She stared at him, then back at his lips when she confirmed he was still sleeping, but that wasn’t the slightest of truth. She brought her hands again to his lips, about to touch him when suddenly he grabbed her hands and pinned her against the bed frightening her.
“You could just have a taste of it muffin,” he smirked when she looked at him shocked.
“I mean it’s yours after all and we are married,” She bit her lower lips trying to hide her embarrassment from him, but he chuckled staring at her lips. It was his turn to stare, cause the way she bite her lips had made him aroused.
“Get off me,” She said and pushed him to the bed, freeing herself from his hold.
“So you were awake and pretended to be asleep?” She looked at him, still a bit taken aback by it.
“Not really, I was only resting,” He said and looked at her.
“You seem to have slept really well,” He added.
“Yeah weirdly,” she stretched a bit and got out of bed.
“Where are you going? ” He quickly got out of the bed and she looked at him like he was crazy.
“Hello, I’m starving, and if you didn’t notice we slept way overboard so I’m going to eat,” She said quickly and was already at the door.
“I’ll join you soon muffin,” He teased.
“I don’t care,” She said each word in monotone and yelled it out so that he could hear while rushing downstairs to the kitchen.
“Damn,” She rubbed her stomach as it made a grumbling sound, making her increase her pace to the kitchen.
She sighed in relief when she read the sticky notes on the fridge. She could tell it was from Rose. She had kept their food in the fridge and asked her to microwave it.
She brought the plate from the fridge and immediately walked to the microwave as she didn’t know if she could wait any longer.
She got down and dished out the food on two plates before taking it to the dining table. A few minutes later, Tristan had arrived but she had around and began eating.
“Damn muffin, you didn’t even wait up for me,” He said and took his plates from the far end and sat down closer to where she was eating.
“I’m going to forgive you for the name-calling today because I’m hungry,” She said and continued to eat while he looked at her and shook his head.
“Okay muffin,” He took a bite of his food, and she just ignored him and continued to eat.
They ate in silence, stealing glances from one another but pulling away once anyone made eye contact.
It was quiet but also wholesome…
