Tristan
My plan went South. It was like she had caught on to whatever pretense I was displaying to her. She wasn’t like the Isabel I knew. She was different. She didn’t shudder, neither was she scared of me like I had expected. She was a whole new different person, driven by hate and anger towards me.
I thought that was going to break her, I thought that would make her spill every suspicion, but she acted unshakable, but I couldn’t even tell if it was just an act or if was she just being herself.
“She said nothing should Lily but went on blabbering of how we were married and how I was stuck to her,” even if that didn’t sit right with me. But it was the truth and I couldn’t tell if I hated it or not.
The next day came sooner, and though I had wished the event of yesterday never happened or those memories were taken away, I could probably have had a better plan of getting her to spill the truth instead of her firm words “I don’t know where she is,” It repeated in my head and I scowl.
I got up from the bed, after having a five-minute recap of how I’d planned out my day to be before getting up from the bed.
I went to the bathroom and started to do all the necessary while getting myself ready for work. Within a few minutes, I got dressed and grabbed my briefcase, rushing downstairs for breakfast in other to beat up traffic.
“Good morning sir,” My Butler greeted and I just gave him a light nod and walked to the dining. I got there, dropped my briefcase on one chair, and pulled out another one beside it, waiting for my food to be served. I looked across the dinner table but the nut case wasn’t there. I was barely relieved as I didn’t have the time to entertain her madness. But just before I could finish my happy dance she walked to the dining happily.
“Good morning, husband,” she sounded escalated.
“Oh isn’t it such a beautiful morning,” She sat down delightfully staring at me before turning her head to rise who greeted her.
“Breakfast please, I’m famished from last night,” She winked at me, and I looked at her suspiciously.
“She had something, up her sleeves and it’s made me feel on the edge as I didn’t know what going on in that brain of hers, “I thought silently, watching the maid serve the meal.
“Stop,” I said before she could have a bite from her breakfast, I swapped our food and raised my brows at her.
“Well, husband? Are you sure that’s what you want?” She smiled at me. Suddenly I became confused and tried to swap it back confused.
“Taste the food, Isabel? ” I said in a threatened tone and without objecting she had a bite.
“Now tell me of what gain would it be if I killed you,” She smiled and grabbed a piece of food from the plate in front of me and placed it into her mouth, chewing with a smile while I stared at her to make sure, before going on right eat.
I finished breakfast first, and walked out of the dining, while she followed behind as we got outside. I got a phone call making me stop in my tracks to receive it, while she kept on going without waiting up for me.
“Good, forward every detail to me,” I said over the phone, before hanging up. I resumed walking and my driver ran off to bring the car from the garage looking a bit conflicted and scared..
“What the fuck?” I cursed when he drove the car in front of me, and low and behold. My car was painted pink with Isabella’s face poster all over the car.
“What the, ” I almost cursed the second when my briefcase fell to the floor as I stood there stupefied. When I hear her voice from behind me.
“Oh damn, husband? Are you in love with me, ” She gasped in pretense.
“You didn’t have to do too much,” She added in mockery and my blood booked in anger.
“Nobody is going to save her from my wrath,” I thought angrily. But before I could say a thing she interrupted me yet again.
“Well, see you at the office,” she giggled and left me standing here in anger.
“Sir, “my driver tried to talk about I glared at him until he knew to shut his mouth up.
“You’re going to pay for this, “I mumble and begin to order a ride for work.
“How dare you, Isabel? How dare you do this to me ” I whisper, clenching my hands into a fist.
Throughout the uncomfortable ride, I kept thinking about what Isabel did to my car. How dare she? I thought angrily.
“Good morning sir,” I walked past the reception ignoring every greeting that was directed to me. I walked into the elevator and pressed the button to my office and took a deep breath before stepping in.
“You finally arrived,” She stood on her feet and walked to me with all smiles, collecting my briefcase.
“Good morning husband,” she said and kissed my cheeks while I stood there stupefied.
“What’s going on? What the heck is she plotting this time?” I thought to myself, as she urged me to move.
“Grandfather is here, so we might as well pretend to be in love,” She whispered in my ears,
“Oh right, you are already in love with me,” she giggles and immediately I looked over my office, and there he was coming towards my direction.
“Grandfather,” I called gently, completely forgetting that Isabel was right beside me.
“If it isn’t my favorite grandson,” He smiled at me, and immediately I walked up to him while he patted my shoulders.
“Oh newlyweds,” He said staring at Isabel and that was when I acknowledged her presence beside me.
“Good morning sir,” She said warmly with a smile as she stared at him, while I rolled my eyes.
“What brings you here?” I asked. “Cause it’s unlike of you, to come to the office this early and well, unannounced,” I explained myself as we walked into my office together.
We got settled in, and I offered him a cup of coffee which he rejected cause he wasn’t staying long.
“I’ll let you two talk,” Isabel said about to leave the office when Grandpa called her back.
“Like I said earlier, this will be brief,” He smiled.
“Okay,” I responded wondering what he had to say that involved her.
“So there would be a family dinner tomorrow, and you both better be present,” He stated sternly…
“Is Mr. George going to be present?” I asked in a bold tone.
“It’s a family dinner, Dominic,” He said and turned to Isabel.
“I’m hoping to see you too child,” He stood on his feet and left with Isabel walking him out.
“A family dinner, now what is this about truly?” I thought, rubbing my jaw…
