Isabella
I yawned lightly, as I fluttered my eyes but didn’t open them. My hands found their way to my eyes rubbing it, while I pouted my lips struggling to get my ass out of the bed.
I readjusted my head on the pillow and tried to stretch my hands on the bed when it landed on something
“Hmm,” I opened my eyes, and behold he was lying beside me. I screamed out loud and jumped off the bed grabbing the duvet to cover my body while pointing at him.
“What?” He asked and jumped up from his sleep standing on the bed, with a pillow in his hands like he was about to attack someone.
“What is it?” He looked frightened, staring at me while waiting to attack.
“What are you doing here?” I caught my breath and managed to say, while he looked confused.
“What do you mean? ”
“Why were you sleeping here? On my bed?” I gave him a questioning look. His tensed body suddenly relaxed taking me aback as he got down from the bed, dropping the pillow.
“Oh,” I staggered backward.
“Did we?” I slowly pulled down the duvet to look at myself, as fear gripped me but I was fully clothed.
“You look like you’ve seen a ghost,” he smiled, and as the sun shone on his face, it looked beautiful. His smile was.
“Did we?” I asked in a clearer tone, as I let the duvet fall on the ground.
“And if we did?” He furrowed his brows and I stared at him from the other side of the bed unable to say a word.
“We didn’t?” I tried to recollect and sat on the bed, my hands on my head.
“You asked me to stay with you last night,” He added, making my eyes widen.
“I did what?” My voice suddenly became dry.
Maybe I was losing it, cause why would I do that?
“I don’t know what the fuss is about. Even if we did have sex, we are married and you’re my wife, so?” He said and I coughed lightly.
“Leave the room,” I said and pointed to the door.
“What?” He was utterly shocked by my utterance.
“Please leave, “my pitch had increased now.
“I’ll leave the room,” He stared for a brief moment and grabbed his phone.
“Good morning Isabella,” He said and shut the door behind me as he left, while I fell on the bed groaning…
“Great way to start the day,” I sighed when Rose walked in and started to organize my room.
I was embarrassed with the way I behaved after I remembered what happened later that night. How did I forget my fears for the rain?
He was so gentle with me as I recalled, he helped me fall back asleep without waking up again. I was surprised by that side of him, but I’ve got to apologize for the way I acted, it was completely rude.
So I opted to make a simple breakfast for him. I mean they ‘say the way to please a man is through their stomach’. I don’t know if that’s true or if such a saying exists anyway, but I’m going to try my luck.
I tied the apron and covered my hair. Rose was beside me, she helped me gather all my ingredients as I wasn’t familiar with where they were kept.
I got at it and started to make scrambled eggs with creamed cheese. It didn’t take long at all and just right in time, Mr. Tristan walked in with his coat in one hand and his briefcase in the other which he all dropped on the chair in the dining before sitting.
“I’ll serve breakfast,” I was excited, while he looked confused. I guess he must be wondering what I was doing in an apron.
“Did you cook?” He looked annoyed…
“Yes,” I gulped and noticed the cook tremble from where she stood.
“I instructed her to let me cook,” I rushed my words, and he immediately calmed down.
I served his meal and did the same for myself, while I sat across the table staring at him and waiting for his reaction.
“Mm,” He moaned and chewed lightly and my eyes lit up joyfully.
That was good, it was a good sign.
“This tastes good,” He added and I blushed before starting to have a taste of mine. Indeed I did a terrific job.
“I’m glad you like it,” I paused.
“I love it,” He corrected sweetly and it made me blush again…
“Also I’m sorry for this morning and thank you for last night,” I rushed my words, I didn’t even lift my head to gaze at him. I was embarrassed, shy, at that moment and that was so unlike me.
“All is forgiven, and you’re welcome,” God!! His words were as soothing as his voice right now. It had those gentleness’s in it that you could feel his genuineness from what he said. I was glad, and this was the first of it. The first time I felt the happy cause of him.
~Breakfast was the best, it felt amazing. I had such a good time, it felt good. So good that I forgot about death.~ I scribble into my journal.
I grabbed my bag and hurried up behind him after organizing my things. I watched him wait beside his garage, while his driver drove out. He turned his head and stared at me, while I passed him a smile.
“Can I drop you off,” He asked walking towards me.
“Yes,” I brushed my hair backward while he stood there staring at me and I did the same. The car parked in front of us, when he turned around and opened the door for me.
“Thank you,” I said and got in, and he did the same getting in after me. The car started and drove off, while we both sat down silently.
The air wasn’t tense like it always was when it was just the both of us. It was calm, it felt like spring, and I loved it.
But as much as I loved it, I wanted to break off the silence, cause I could feel his gaze on me. So I grabbed my iPad.
“What do you think about this update?” I pointed on my iPad screen staring at him, as I pushed it to him, so he could see for himself.
“What’s that?” He asked and shifted to see what I was talking about…
“This,” I pointed again, but he was staring at me.
“I don’t want to talk about work right now,” He said and I wanted to pull away.
“I just want to enjoy this,” He said and grabbed the iPad from me, closed it, and held my hand while he rested his head on the back of his seat with his eyes closed, leaving me frozen.
“What’s happening?” I thought to myself, staring at his hand on mine, I didn’t know how to react or what to do, while I sat there stiffened by what he did…
