Thirty minutes later, we’re flying to Chicago in Beau’s jet. I had planned to come check on Axel even before Beau and I worked things out, and once I explained to Beau what was going on with Camila and Axel, he agreed that we should go. Axel has refused to answer any of my calls the past three days, and Camila has been worried sick about him.
I would be a lot more upset about the situation if I didn’t have Beau’s support. I still can’t believe we’re here together. It’s like a dream. I touch his face to make sure it’s real.
“I’m sorry again for everything I did while I was pretending to have lost my memory.” Beau says, placing his hand over mine.
“There is nothing to be sorry for. I know you didn’t want to hurt me. I’m sure it must have pained you to do it.” I run my other hand through his soft curls. I’ve missed doing that.
“You can’t imagine, my love. My heart was pierced every time I hurt you. I am truly sorry.” He stares into my eyes, and I can tell he means every word.
I smile softly and peck his lips. “It’s fine.” Beau closes his eyes and release a low groan that vibrates through his chest. He opens his eyes, and they’re filled with lust. I can’t believe a little peck did that. How long has it been since he had sex?
He undresses me with his eyes and my core throbs. I quickly look away from him. We need to talk about something before I forget.
I take my hand away from his face and fan myself. It’s hot in here all of a sudden.
I clear my throat. “I want to ask you something.”
“Go ahead,” he says, still giving me that look and smirking because he knows how much he’s affecting me.
“Why did you agree to marry Hannah?”
“I had to propose to Hannah, because my mother started getting paranoid.”
“About what?”
“Me falling for you again.”
“Falling for me again? How could she have thought that was possible?” I ask, confused.
“After it appeared I could function well with the ‘memory loss’, my mother started pushing Hannah my way. Of course, I refused to date her, but then my mom said even though I had lost my memories, I was still under your spell.”
“Did she suspect you were pretending?”
“I don’t think so, although she caught me once looking at pictures of you on my phone. She assumed I was just curious about the woman who had duped me. But then she worried I might fall for you again and started pushing me to be with Hannah even more. To make my mother forget the idea of me going back to you and to protect you, I proposed to Hannah.”
“Oh.”
“Can we stop talking about my mother now?” Beau uses the tip of his nose to trace my neck and shoulder. “I have missed you, mon amour.” He kisses my neck, sucking on it hard.
I bite my lip to muffle the moan threatening to escape. “I’ve missed you too but…” I grab Beau’s head and turn it toward Tamara, who’s sleeping on the other side of the plane. I wasn’t going to leave her to deal with Beau’s family or Hannah by herself, plus it’ll be helpful to have backup while talking some sense into Axel.
“I know. But that’s what the bedroom on the jet is for.” He says, kissing my shoulder and moving his hands under my dress. He slowly caresses my thigh. Heat fills me as his touch makes my skin burn with desire.
“Beau!” I moan, but it doesn’t come out in the threatening way I want it to.
“Yes, mom amour?” he replies, smiling and staring at me with lust-filled eyes.
“Please, let’s wait till we get to Chicago. I’ll feel weird doing it with Tamara right outside,” I say, biting my lip.
Beau sighs and his shoulders sag. “Once we’re in our hotel room, I’m having my way with you.”
I smile and peck his lips. “I can’t wait.”
He smiles back and kisses me. Hopefully this conversation with Axel won’t take too long, because I don’t want to wait any more than I have to before being with Beau again.
