“Cameron, what’s the update on the new project I assigned to you?” Lucas asked the man he was holding while sitting relaxed in the CEO’s office.
“Chairman, I have everything sorted out, just a few more things to finalize and I’m ensuring that all the plans will be successful,” Cameron, the CEO of Luca Group, replied.
“That’s good to hear,” Lucas said with a nod.
“Chairman, our people at the farm house would like to see you, they are wondering when you will visit,” Cameron said politely.
Lucas glanced at his watch, “Hmm… I don’t have much to do right now, I also want to see the progress on the farm so let’s go, I’ll accompany you to meet them,” Lucas casually replied.
Cameron smiled triumphantly before standing up and leading Lucas out, driving towards a secluded area where the farm house was located.
After a few minutes of travel, they arrived at a place where they could see many chickens, goats, sheep, and other animals. This was the farm house that Cameron had renovated and expanded; the animals here would be used for a new project that Cameron was working on, in short, all of this was part of Cameron’s ongoing project. Around them, there were more than twenty men taking care and feeding the animals.
Cameron clapped his hands as they got out of the car. All the workers turned and quickly gathered in front. Lucas stepped out of the car, looking at the people around, he sensed that some of them had a strong bloodlust or intention to kill. Having been in battles for a long time, Lucas could easily tell who among them had more experience in warfare or killing enemies.
“Here is the chairman, he wants to see and tour the farm, let me introduce you; this is Lucas, the chairman and the one true authority in this farm,” Cameron announced loudly before introducing Lucas.
“Good day, chairman,” they all greeted in unison after Cameron’s introduction.
Lucas nodded, “Let’s go, join me in touring the farm,” he said casually with his hands in his pockets.
“I am the one ordering everyone here; let me take you on a tour of the farm,” said the man wearing a straw hat.
Lucas looked at the man and felt the strong bloodlust emanating from him, it was obvious that the man thirsted for blood. However, Lucas didn’t pay much attention to it, “You lead the way,” he said nonchalantly.
The man nodded before guiding Lucas to walk into the farm house and explore the vast land. As soon as Lucas disappeared from their sight, Cameron and the others remaining there, showed sinister smiles.
“Boss, are you sure we can take over the Luca Group entirely?” one of them asked, showing a malicious grin.
Cameron smiled ominously, “Who will replace the chairman when he dies? I will just create a drama to gain the trust of the shareholders so they’ll elect me as the chairman,” Cameron said before laughing.
“Make sure you compensate us enough, the Don said we just need to protect you, he didn’t say we had to kill innocent people,” another man, clearly a mafia member in the group, said.
“Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you are satisfied with the rewards you’ll receive,” Cameron assured them.
“Do not worry, the man with your chairman is one of Mercado’s soldiers, known as the Butcher because of his merciless ways of killing, as if he’s just slaughtering chickens. Surely, Lucas will turn into a mess of flesh once he’s under the butcher’s hands,” calmly said the man, confident in his companion’s abilities.
Cameron nodded in delight, “Excellent, excellent, soon the Luca Group will be mine,” he laughed wildly.
At that moment, five black vans stopped in front of the farm house.
Confusion appeared on Cameron’s face, “Who are these? Are they your men?” he asked his mafia companion.
The man shook his head, “No, everything Don sent to the farm house is already here, and it’s unlikely he would send anyone else.” He replied while looking at the vans that had arrived.
Everyone looked on guard at the unexpected visitors. This remote location made it even more puzzling how five vans suddenly arrived at this kind of farm house.
A man with an injured eye got off the leading van, he looked around as if counting the people in front of him, then he glanced at Cameron and recognized him. He smiled, “Are you Cameron? The president of Luca Group?” He asked in a calm voice.
Cameron nodded, “Yes, who are you? Why are you here in this place?” Cameron asked cautiously.
“I am here for you,” the man said casually.
There was suspicion in Cameron’s face, he furrowed his brow, “What do you need from me?” He inquired.
“I don’t need anything from you, but there is something I want to take from you,” the man said mysteriously.
“Speak up, tell me straight,” Cameron replied, raising his guard.
The man smiled, “Don’t be afraid,” then he paused briefly and gave a cold look, “I just want your life!”
As soon as he said that, the door of five black vans opened, and about fifty large men armed with various weapons emerged, they looked like wild and hungry wolves attacking Cameron’s group. Cameron’s group seemed like sheep in a sudden ambush. These people were the ones Lucas had prepared, and One Eye was the man who spoke to Cameron.
“Ambush!” Mafia shouted before pulling Cameron to run for protection, “Everyone, face them, protect Cameron!” he ordered as he ran behind, dragging Cameron.
“What’s happening here! Wtf!” Cameron exclaimed as he was being dragged, fear evident in his eyes.
“Don’t you know?” the mafia asked in surprise.
“What should I know? No one else should know about this place!” Cameron said.
“Damn! You fool, who else came here besides you?” the mafia said.
“No one, I didn’t bring anyone else here!” Cameron shouted nervously, wondering if he had brought anyone else here.
The mafia looked back and saw chaos behind him, some of his men had died, but he continued to run away until they disappeared from the scene.
…
“Leader, everything went according to the Big Boss’ plan,” Tiger said to One Eye.
One Eye nodded, “The Big Boss is amazing, he really foresaw this happening, Vladimir indeed took Cameron according to his plan,” One Eye said in admiration.
It had only been a week since they were trained by Lucas. Their strength had significantly improved in such a short time, so Lucas deployed them in this battle to test their strength. A week had passed since Lucas spoke to these people about their plan.
“The mafia is dead, only the gangster is left alive,” Tiger said.
“Take all the gangsters to the car and immediately clean up the scene, let’s wait for the big boss to return,” One Eye ordered.
“Sir!” replied Tiger before giving orders to the others.
….
…
“What’s happening, why is there an ambush?! Are you involved in this?!” Cameron panickedly asked Vladimir.
“Idiot!” Before he slapped Cameron, “do you really think I would protect you if I had something to do with this mess?” he asked Cameron irritably.
Cameron regained his composure after receiving the slap and realized that Vlad’s words made sense. They were hiding in a pigsty, surrounded by pig feces, and the smell was so strong that Cameron almost threw up as he regained his composure.
Vlad was pondering who could be the cause of this ambush until he glanced at Cameron with suspicion. “Think, who else came here aside from you?” he asked.
Cameron thought for a moment, “You’re persistent! I didn’t bring anyone else here, I didn’t even invite anyone else here except-” Cameron’s eyes widened as a strange idea entered his mind, “Are you referring to him?” He asked with a hint of doubt.
Vlad nodded and clenched his fist before saying, “Yes! The Chairman of the Luca Group… Lucas.”
