Bang!
A bullet hit the back of the head of the man who entered before collapsing on the floor, lifeless.
Kevin’s eyes widened in shock; he never imagined someone would have the audacity to kill a man in his own territory. Cecilia and Bella screamed in fear as they saw blood flowing from Kevin’s man’s head.
A mafia member entered and shot the other men inside the box; only four people were left alive, and the mafia member looked at the two women.
Shaking with fear, Bella and Cecilia asked, “Who are you, and why did you kill those people?” Bella asked in a trembling voice.
The man remained silent and cocked the trigger.
Bang!
Without a word, the man shot Bella in the forehead, and she fell lifeless. Cecilia stood frozen, too terrified to speak, she wet herself, but as she felt blood dripping down her face, she collapsed to the ground, lifeless.
Kevin’s eyes widened as he was unsure of what was happening. He held Victoria at knifepoint, saying, “I don’t know your intentions or which family sent you, but try to take a step, and this woman will die.” Kevin was uncertain about the other party’s motives, but he had a feeling it was related to Victoria, so he took a risk to hostage her.
Upon hearing this, the man did not move and only pointed his gun to Kevin, “Release the Mistress,” the man said coldly.
Kevin laughed, realizing his hunch was correct, but he wondered about the woman’s connection to this mafia group. “What does a mafia need with an ordinary person like her?” he curiously asked.
“I never thought the backbone of the lowly Sicilian Mafia members would strengthen,”
A cold voice was heard, and footsteps approached the door. Lucas appeared, his eyes filled with anger as he looked at Kevin. Upon learning that Kevin, a soldier of the mafia, was the one behind the abduction, Lucas ordered not to kill Kevin immediately to have a conversation with him.
“Who are you? Are you really bold enough to kill my men even though you know I am from the Sicilian Family?” Fear was evident on Kevin’s face, though he was a proud soldier of the Sicilian Mafia, the top family in all of Rome.
Victoria was relieved to see Lucas; she never expected him to show up in such a situation. “Lucas,” she smiled as she mentioned his name.
“Are you alright?” Lucas asked, noticing the palm print on Victoria’s cheek and blood on the side of her mouth, he clenched his fist before looking coldly at Kevin, “Did you hit my wife?”
“So what if I did?” Kevin replied coldly.
Lucas nodded, “I’ll give you ten minutes to live if you release my wife properly and explain yourself,” he said calmly, holding back his anger.
Kevin laughed, “Based on your actions and the person behind you, it’s clear you’re their Don. I want to know which family you belong to.”
Lucas smiled, “I don’t know if you’ve heard of the Genovese.”
Kevin was puzzled upon hearing the words, thinking it sounded familiar like a family name, but he couldn’t quite recall, until his eyes widened, remembering the prominent family from 20 years ago. He wasn’t yet a member of the family’s soldiers back then, but he remembered it being mentioned by the Don of the family.
“You-”
Lucas advanced, noticing Kevin’s lack of vigilance. Before Kevin could finish his sentence, Lucas swiftly pulled him back, kicking Kevin’s hand where he held the knife, before pulling Victoria closer for protection.
“Since you seem to know me, you no longer need to live,” Lucas said coldly after putting Victoria behind him, he carried Victoria before leaving the box and signaled his men to finish Kevin off.
The henchman nodded before shooting Kevin. Fear, surprise, and disbelief were evident on Kevin’s face as he fell to the ground.
“Clean up the place,” Lucas ordered Lorenzo as he untied the ropes on Victoria’s hands and feet before exiting the club, getting into the back seat of the car, and heading to the villa.
Upon reaching the villa, Lucas tended to Victoria’s hands and feet, sore from being tightly bound, before applying ointment to her swollen cheek.
At that moment, Lucas glanced at Victoria’s chest, and Victoria noticed the peculiar look in his eyes before shyly covering her chest.
“What’s that?” Lucas asked curiously, his heart rate quickening.
Victoria was puzzled before asking, “What?”
“The pendant you’re wearing,” Lucas said, nervous.
Victoria smiled before revealing the pendant, “This is the only thing I have left before my memories disappeared.”
Upon seeing the pendant, Lucas was restless, feeling a mix of emotions and unsure of what to say first.
Victoria did not notice Lucas’s reaction and continued speaking, “This pendant is the only reason I remember my name and the child who saved me when I was young,” Victoria sighed before continuing, “When I was young, I was being chased by human traffickers. Luckily, there was a young boy who pulled me into an old cinema. He promised to marry me when we grow up, and the only name I remember is his name Luca-”
Before Victoria could finish her sentence, Lucas embraced her. “You’ve been by my side for a long time, I’ve always been searching for you,” he said.
Victoria’s eyes widened as if she was confused, “What do you mean?”
Lucas held Victoria’s shoulder gently, “When I was young, a young girl saved me from human traffickers. If it weren’t for the girl who pulled me into the old cinema, the traffickers would have caught me. I remember the girl’s name was Victoria, she was only seven or eight years old at the time, the pendant you’re wearing and the one she wore were the same,” explained Lucas.
Victoria was surprised because they both had similar stories, but in her memory, she was the one saved by the boy. “Why do our stories match, but in my memory, I was the one who was saved?” she asked in confusion.
Lucas smiled, “silly girl, your memories must have been jumbled when you got sick along with the loss of your memories, one of your core memories got mixed up.”
Victoria nodded, thinking that what Lucas said made sense, “So, you are Luca?” Victoria’s heartbeat quickened, covering her mouth in disbelief.
Lucas hugged Victoria, “Luca was the name I used to hide my identity, that’s why the company is named Luca Group, to protect myself,” he explained while gently stroking Victoria’s hair.
Victoria cried, she never imagined that the man she had been searching for so long was by her side all along, that he had married her, the man who showed her love and true family, the man she had been looking for.
“Lucas, I’ve been searching for you for so long, ever since I came to Casella, you were the only man I ever thought of,” she cried as she spoke.
“Don’t worry, I won’t ever leave again, I’m here now and I won’t leave you, I love you so much, Victoria. Forgive me if I was cold to you at first, I promise in this life, you won’t be bullied again,” Lucas vowed wholeheartedly, comforting Victoria.
Victoria cried even more and couldn’t contain her emotions, “Since then, I’ve loved you so much, I’ve always thought of you and wished upon the stars, who would have thought I’ve been married to you for three years already.”
“I’m sorry for not finding you sooner,” Lucas said.
The two embraced for a long time, and when Victoria stopped crying, they were seen sitting on the bed, holding hands while Victoria rested her head on Lucas’s shoulder.
“What if I’m not the Victoria you’re looking for, will you still love me or leave me for her?” Victoria asked.
“You are my wife, even if we meet, I’ll just thank her,” Lucas smiled.
“I will do the same because in my memory, he’s the one who saved me. I’ll just thank him and tell him I’m married and happy with you,” Victoria smiled.
“Who would have thought, fate plays jokes on us. We’ve been searching for each other for so long, but we’ve been by each other’s side all along,” Lucas said happily before kissing Victoria’s hand.
Victoria smiled before remembering something, “By the way, what is Genovese and why did that man get scared when he heard it?” Curiously asked Victoria.
