Harley’s POV
I stood still, not knowing what to say to him exactly.
I had never expected to be in such a situation or to see him looking like this.
“Jade, help me out because I really don’t know what to do right now,” I said to her seriously.
“This time, Harley, you are on your own. Your decision is what matters to me the most,” she answered.
I bit my lower lip and then took a step back, extending my hand to him.
He looked at it and then at my face with a surprised expression.
“Come on, you don’t have to kneel for my forgiveness because I forgave you a long time ago,” I said.
He smiled and then grabbed my hand and stood up.
“But as for us being together, I am seriously not sure,” I said as his smile faded.
“I understand,” he said in a low tone and then walked to a desk where a bottle of whiskey was.
He grabbed the bottle and took off the lid, drinking from it.
“It’s not like I don’t love you… I just…”
I was startled when he dropped the whiskey bottle on the floor, my eyes widening.
“What did you just say?” he asked as he moved in front of me.
I hesitated but chose to repeat myself.
“It’s not like I don’t love you; it’s …” I stopped talking in shock when he crushed his lips against mine.
I instantly relaxed and kissed him back, curving my arms around his shoulders.
He was going through so much, and the only thing I could do for both of us was to be honest about how I felt.
I didn’t want to leave his side, and every time he was so sad, it hurt and felt terrible for me. It was clear that I loved him, but the only thing that stood in my way was the guilt I felt towards Sky.
I pulled back and tried to smile.
“What is it?” he asked huskily.
“Sky,” I whispered.
“Oh, him? He is okay with us,” he answered as I frowned.
“What?” I asked seriously.
“I said he is okay with us. He was actually the one who invited me here in hopes that you would forgive me and take me back,” he answered.
“You might not know, but he always has your best interests at heart, and he understands you more than I ever could, just by looking at you,” he continued.
“I’ll be right back,” I said, and then quickly rushed out of his room and the pack house, going to where I had left Sky.
When I saw him still talking on the phone, I stood a few meters away with a smile.
He turned and looked at me with a wide smile.
“I’ll talk to you later; right now, I want to talk to my mate,” he said, and then disconnected the call.
“Hey,” he greeted softly.
I went to him and wrapped my arms around his waist, resting my head against his chest.
“Did you miss me that much?” he asked after wrapping his arms around me.
“I did,” I answered, and then pulled back and looked him in the eyes.
“Why are you so good to me?” I asked seriously, then pressed my hand on his cheek.
“Because I love you and you mean everything to me,” he answered seriously.
“You love me and take care of me without wanting anything in return. I just wish I could do more for you,” I said softly.
He grabbed my hand and moved it to his lips, kissing it.
“You gave me more than I could ever need,” he said, and then dropped my hand and pressed his on my chest.
“When you gave me your heart and accepted me for who I really am, you gave me all I wanted,” he said seriously.
I smiled and then tiptoed and kissed his lips.
When I pulled back, I glanced at Glen’s balcony and saw him looking down at us.
“Jealous?” Sky shouted loudly.
“Sky!” I exclaimed.
“A little! But then I have already had a feel of her lips while you were on the phone,” Glen answered.
I quickly turned and looked at Sky with a rapidly beating heart.
“Really?” he asked with a raised brow.
“Um… you see, I wanted to talk to you about this. We …”
“I’m glad,” he said, surprising me.
“What?” I asked in disbelief.
“I said I am glad to see you bonding with him,” he answered and then chuckled softly.
“So he was telling the truth,” I whispered.
“If you mean that I was okay with the two of us sharing you, then yes, it is true,” he said and then grabbed a strand of my hair.
“He is my twin brother who met you first. Although he was foolish, he does love you a lot, and I could feel it,” he said as he leaned in and inhaled the scent of the strand of my hair in his hand.
“He went through a great deal without you, and if he were to completely lose you, he would go insane, as I would,” he said and then let go of the strand of hair.
“I want my brother alive and well, and having you by our side is not only our joy but our pride. So I want the three of us to work everything out,” he said as I smiled.
“I’m just amazed at how selfless and kind you are,” I answered honestly.
“If you are truly in love, you learn to be,” he answered and then leaned in and kissed my cheek.
“Now then, shall we go back in?” he asked.
I turned and looked at Glen.
“Glen, I think our mate wants you to join us in the living room for a glass of whiskey!” Sky said at the top of his voice.
“Really?” he asked in an excited tone.
“Yes, so hurry and come down,” Sky answered.
“Give me a minute,” he said and then moved away from the balcony.
I turned and faced Sky, then laughed softly.
“I’ll have juice,” I said.
“No, you are going to have a nice cold glass of wine, while we will have whiskey,” he answered.
“If I turn out to be a terrible drinker, then it will be all your fault,” I warned seriously.
“Oh my, what exactly do you do when you are drunk? Do you take off all of your clothes, or perhaps you lose respect? Maybe you intimidate those who are below your rank?” he asked as I hit his shoulder lightly.
“No, I don’t know because I don’t drink, well at least not much.
“The only time I drank wine was when Molly and I wanted to celebrate, and it was only half a glass,” I answered seriously.
“I see. I wish to see habits like yours turning clingy and naughty,” he said as I laughed softly and then shrugged.
“Maybe I have such habits,” I answered and turned.
“Then I look forward to it,” he said loudly behind me, making me blush.
