Paul’s POV
“Hey,” Molly greeted after she opened the door.
For the past few weeks, I had been by her side, doing my best to make her happy.
We went on a few dates, took walks, and even kissed a few times.
Was she ready to leave everything behind and be with me?
No, she wasn’t.
“Paul, what’s wrong?” she asked.
I didn’t know how to tell her that I was planning to go back to my pack.
“It’s just that….”
“Paul! Is that you, son?” Mr. William asked loudly.
“Yes, sir, it’s me,” I answered and then walked in when Molly stepped aside.
“How many times have I told you to call me Dad?” he asked seriously when I walked into the living room.
I looked at Mrs. William, who smiled softly at me.
“Um… well, Dad and Mom, sorry I came by unannounced,” I answered.
“Nonsense, you are more than welcome here. Isn’t that right, dear?” she asked Molly after she walked in.
“He knows that, Mother, even without me telling him so,” she answered simply.
“Won’t you take a seat, son?” Mr. William asked.
“I will, thank you,” I answered, then moved and sat down.
“Um… Dad… Mom… I came here to say my goodbye,” I said softly as they all looked at me with surprised expressions on their faces.
“Are you going to buy something at the market, perhaps?” Mrs. William asked, then laughed nervously.
“No, I am going back home,” I answered seriously.
I cursed silently when Molly ran past us without a word.
“Why is that? I thought you were going to stay with us longer,” Mrs. William said sadly.
“I wish I could, but I found out yesterday that my sister-in-law is pregnant, and they were planning on celebrating today,” I answered.
“I was asked to be present, and I couldn’t say no. Moreover, I don’t think my brother will allow me to return the same day or the coming week. Not after how long I have been away,” I answered.
She sighed heavily and then looked at Mr. William.
“You will be visiting us, right?” he asked.
“Of course, I will be visiting you whenever I have time,” I answered honestly.
“I’m glad to hear that,” he said and then looked ahead.
“You will need to talk to her,” he said in a low tone.
I knew he meant I had to talk to Molly and explain everything to her.
“I will,” I answered and then stood up.
“I don’t know why you two aren’t a thing yet when it’s clear that you both like each other very much,” Mrs. William said, surprising me.
They knew? I didn’t want them to look at their daughter differently. After all, I was by her side when she broke up with that douchebag.
“Honey,” Mr. William called in warning.
“What? It’s not like we are blind or dumb. They always act as if they aren’t interested in each other whenever we are around, when in truth they are,” she said as I quickly faced them and bowed low.
“I am sorry for not saying this first, but would you please allow me to be with your daughter? I have loved her for quite some time now,” I said in a respectful tone.
“Nice,” Snow said proudly.
“It’s about time, son; we were waiting for you to ask us,” Mr. William answered.
“Now then, look up,” Mrs. William said softly.
I hesitated but did.
“We love how you treat our daughter and look after her. So, you being with her makes us happy because we know you are capable and respectful to her,” Mr. William said as I smiled.
“Thank you,” I answered.
“Now then, go and talk to her,” Mrs. William said.
I nodded and quickly went to Molly’s room.
I opened the door and walked in after knocking twice.
She lay on her bed with her back towards me.
“Hey, I…,”
“Get out; I don’t want to talk to you,” she said in a cracked voice.
She really was going to make it hard for me to leave.
I moved closer and sat at the edge of the bed, close to her feet.
“I can’t do that; you know that,” I answered honestly.
“I said I don’t want to talk to you,” she said, then sniffed.
“I received a call from Jace yesterday, and it was great news. He said Lillian was pregnant,” I said.
She slowly sat upright, her gaze fixed on the other side.
“Congratulations to them,” she answered in a whisper.
“He was so excited that he ordered me to be present at the coming celebration, which starts today,” I said, then continued.
“He already showed me mercy when he allowed me to be with you because, as his Gamma, my loyalty lies in serving him,” I said as she looked at me furiously, with tears threatening to fall.
“You said you wanted to be with me forever! You said you love me!” she shouted at the top of her voice.
“We do!” Snow growled when he pulled through and took partial control.
She kept quiet and lowered her gaze.
“Let me talk to her,” he said.
I didn’t know what he was going to say to her, but I knew he wanted what was best for us. I pulled back and let him take full control.
“Molly, would you like to come with us?” he asked as she quickly looked up.
She looked astonished at his question.
“We would love for you to be by our side for as long as you want. If it so happens that you want to return, we won’t stop you,” he said seriously.
“You can also visit us whenever you miss us or stay with us at the pack forever if you would like that,” he said and then moved our hand to her cheek.
“Just know that you are the only one who can be beside us and that we will wait for you for as long as we live if you choose not to come with us,” he said as I sighed softly.
“Snow, she isn’t ready to leave everything behind. We both know…”
“I’ll pack my things and go with you,” she answered before I could finish my sentence.
“What?” I asked in shock.
“Really?” he asked.
“Yes, I want to be with you. I decided on that and made up my mind a few days ago. I was only waiting for you to ask,” she answered.
“I will talk to my parents and explain everything to them. I’m sure they will understand,” she said.
I quickly took control and hugged her happily.
I couldn’t believe she had been thinking about us all this time. My stupid self would have messed it up.
I was happy and felt lucky to have Snow intervene. Because of him, our mate was finally on the same page with us.
