Talic’s POV
“Were we too hard on him?” I asked the Alpha seriously in his office.
“Of course not; he really needs to go through this phase in order for him to learn,” he answered and then glanced at the Luna with a warm smile.
“You were amazing,” he whispered and then extended his hand to her.
“Well, I hate such selfish behavior,” she answered and then took his hand and moved in front of him.
I watched uncomfortably as he wrapped his arms around her waist with a smile.
She shyly looked away for a second but then wrapped her arms around his shoulders happily.
“I thought you didn’t want us to spend time together,” she whispered.
“Why would you think that?” he asked softly.
“Because Jace has been spending more time with Lillian. He couldn’t even spare me a few minutes. Also, you wouldn’t take over, so I figured you must not want to or perhaps you are angry with me,” she answered.
“Mm, I see,” he whispered and then swept her off her feet.
“Talic, if there is anything important to report, you will let me know. For now, I want to spend some quality time with my mate. Please don’t disturb us,” he said seriously and then walked out before I could respond.
I moved my hand to my face with a low sigh.
Wow, he really was something else. How could he not be embarrassed doing that in front of me? We were very close, like brothers, but still. If I were in his place, I would be very embarrassed.
I walked out of the office and went outside the pack house, where I saw Paul talking to Light and laughing freely.
Since the party, Paul seemed happier and more comfortable around everyone. He no longer had a sad expression on his face, and he was back to training the warriors whenever he had free time.
I was happy that he was finally allowing himself to close the broken chapter he had gone through, and my only wish now was that he could find a mate or lover who would be so kind to him and very accepting of his past actions.
“What are you looking at?” Edith asked behind me.
I quickly turned and looked at her with a smile.
She had a serious expression on her face, and the clothes she wore were somewhat provocative.
I brushed my hand through my hair and tried not to look at her in a lustful way.
Her dress was strapless and very short. Although no one could see her breasts, it was still enough for me to see her skin through the fabric.
“Why aren’t you looking at me?” she asked.
“Should I?” I asked back in a low tone.
“Of course! Who else would I dress up for if not you, my mate?” she answered.
I looked her in the eyes and then smiled softly.
“I really do appreciate your efforts, but I’m not the only one looking at you,” I said honestly while I looked around and noticed a few warriors looking at her.
I held in a growl and glared at them as a warning. They gave a low bow and quickly rushed to the training field.
“I’m sorry; I didn’t think much about this,” she answered.
I unbuttoned my shirt and took it off. When her face instantly lit up, I felt a little smirk.
“It’s not clean, nor does it smell that good, but it will do,” I said while I put it on her.
“Hey,” I called loudly when she grabbed the side of my shirt and sniffed it.
“I really do love your scent a lot; it’s unique, manly, and calming,” she whispered.
I smiled and then looked down for a second, hoping she wouldn’t notice how embarrassed I felt at her confession.
“Do you think she is seducing us?” Harvey asked me in excitement.
“No, she’s not, so cut it out,” I warned and then looked at her seriously.
“Walk with me,” I said softly.
She nodded and then linked her hand to mine.
“Lovey-dovey, I see,” Paul said when we were about to leave.
“Paul, seriously,” I said playfully.
“What? Light and I are just happy to see the two of you like that,” he answered.
I shook my head with a chuckle, then began to walk away with Edith.
“Let’s talk later!” he called out.
I raised my free hand and waved once to let him know that I was okay with that.
“I was wondering if you are free this evening,” I said softly.
“I am always free,” she answered.
“Good, then can you go with me somewhere?” I asked.
She stopped moving and looked at me with a facial expression that wanted answers.
“I have been thinking for quite some time now about how a lot of things have happened, and yet we couldn’t even go out to watch a simple movie or do something together,” I said as she smiled warmly.
“I have always wanted to watch a movie. The funny thing is that I don’t want to do it in town or anywhere else but at home. If it’s okay with you, can we do it at home?” she asked, surprising me.
“What? Is it that shocking?” she asked in a low voice.
“No, come with me,” I said, and then grabbed her hand and walked with her into the pack house.
Of course, she was human, but she was also someone who had lived for a very long time. She must have gone out to have fun a lot of times, and she had probably been either tired or bored.
Watching a movie at home was a very good way to bond too, and so it happened that our pack had a movie room, which was rarely used because we were all too busy to care.
“We are here,” I said as I grabbed the door handle to the movie room.
“It’s been a long time since someone came here, although it’s usually cleaned, and most movies you would want to watch are shelved,” I said as I opened the door.
She let go of my hand and walked in slowly. I closed the door behind us and then walked to her side.
“So, which movie should we watch?” I asked simply.
She rushed to the huge wardrobe that was in front of us and touched the CDs there.
“There are even those we can watch online, so take your time,” I said.
She looked at me and then ran into my arms, surprising me.
“Thank you,” she whispered, confusing me.
I had no idea why she was thanking me. All I knew was that whatever I was doing was the right thing.
