Harley’s POV
“Sir,” I called and held my breath when he raised a brow.
There was something about him that was just different and a lot dreamy.
“I know I messed up at work, but I didn’t mean to run away. Also, as you made it clear to me, I have done my best to stay away from you and never appear in front of you. I also apologize for mmm….”
I cut my words short in shock when his lips brushed against mine. My eyes widened, and my heart was beating crazily.
When I felt his tongue trace my lips, I quickly took a step back, which he reluctantly allowed.
“What do you think you are doing, Glen!” I screamed in shock.
He chuckled softly and then moved at a quick pace, standing in front of me.
Before I could warn him off, I was swept off my feet and carried on his shoulder.
“What the hell are you doing!” I screamed as he walked, ignoring my question.
What the hell was he doing? Was this his way of punishment?
When he put me down, I quickly looked at him furiously.
“What do you think you are doing?” I exclaimed, then swallowed hard when his expression turned cold.
“To you, babe? Nothing dangerous,” he answered as I felt speechless.
“Babe, me?” I asked in a low tone.
He took a step forward, closing the space between us, and grabbed my chin gently. My mind was telling me to step back, but my body couldn’t just move, and the beautiful tingles I was feeling were so incredible that I couldn’t just move back.
“Of course you! Do you know how long I have waited for you?” he asked back in a husky voice.
My heart was flustered, and I felt like I was in a daze.
“But it’s a little annoying when you confuse me with some fucker who was harsh to you,” he said as I frowned.
“What are you saying? You were the one who asked me to stay away,” I asked seriously, and then took a step back.
He took off his leather jacket and threw it on a motorcycle that was next to us.
I was stunned by the tattoos he had that covered his neck and arms. He was wearing a vest, so it was easy to see them.
There had never been a day I had seen Glen in a T-shirt, but then again, it was impossible because he was at work.
Then who was the man in front of me?
“I don’t know who you are confusing me with, but do I seriously look like the asshole who asked you to never be seen in his presence?” he asked sarcastically.
I carefully looked at his hair, which was very different. He had quite a unique haircut that was styled into a high ponytail that extended down his back. The sides of his head were shaved, with a sharp, defined line running parallel to the shaved area, giving a clean, edgy contrast to the longer hair on top.
Although his face was identical to Glen’s, his features were sharper and different, especially his eye color. He had a cut at the corner of his lips that was very visible, and he wore an earring in one of his ears. His build was bigger than Glen’s, and the tattoos were something I was seeing for the very first time.
Their heights were the same, but the way he spoke was very different. He had an accent, while Glen didn’t.
“I admit you look nothing like him,” I said as he grinned.
“But you sure do have his face,” I pointed out as his grin disappeared.
“Fine, let’s agree that I look similar to that bastard, but I am better-looking in some way, isn’t it?” he asked as I felt my cheeks heat up.
He was obviously sexier and looked more handsome than Glen, despite having his face.
I flinched when he pressed his hand on my cheek.
“Are you perhaps thinking I’m more appealing than him?” he asked as I gasped.
“Damn, you are just too perfect. Easy to read and to understand.”He whispered, confusing me.
When he dropped his hand, I felt a little disappointed. There was something about his touch that ignited warmth in my heart.
“Hi, my name is Sky, and what is your name, princess?” he asked as I felt even more flustered. Although he was sarcastic with his words, he had a way of making me feel shy and very flustered.
“Harley,” I answered, and then I shook his hand.
“What a beautiful name for a beautiful mate,” he whispered as I shyly pulled my hand away and covered my mouth, lowering my gaze to the ground.
I knew I wasn’t beautiful, but just hearing his words, a part of me wanted to believe him. And he was taking me as a friend; that’s why he was being friendly to a stranger.
“I don’t want to rush you, but if it’s okay with you, would you like to come with me?” he asked.
“To where?” I asked after I had dropped my hand and looked up.
“To my house. You seem lost and unfamiliar with this place,” he answered.
“I don’t know how I ended up here, but I really do need to find my way back. Do you have a cellphone on you?” I asked, ignoring his words.
He kept quiet for a minute, then smiled.
“I don’t have a cell phone, but there is a landline at my place. So how about you come with me?” he asked as I nervously looked around.
Although I felt comfortable around him, he was still a total stranger to me who could turn out to be a very dangerous man.
“Thank you for your offer, but I prefer staying put,” I answered.
He turned his back for a second, then looked at me.
“I love you,” he said, shocking me.
He was crazy; he definitely was an insanely sexy-looking man.
“Gosh, I know I sound insane right now, but I really do want you with me. Like, you don’t know how long I have waited for you. I even convinced myself that it wasn’t my destiny to meet you. You are all I need right now, If you don’t want to come with me, then I will go with you wherever you want, because I really, really can’t be without you,” he said seriously.
“Think of me in whatever way you want, but I just want you,” he whispered and then took my hand in his as I tensed.
“You are dead gorgeous, strong, and just exactly what I imagined you to be-my equal,” he said softly.
I moved without thinking and hugged him, tears filling my eyes.
It was definitely not true, but then again, his words touched my heart, and my very being was telling me to cling to this man.
“I will go with you,” I answered softly and then got startled when he lifted me up.
This time, he turned in circles as I giggled happily.
When he put me down with a wide smile, I looked at his black motorcycle.
“You like it?” he asked softly.
It looked very expensive. Were motorcycles this big?
“It’s beautiful,” I answered honestly.
“Thank goodness, I thought you hated motorcycles,” he said, then got on and looked at me.
“I’m sorry; I rushed here when one of my men informed me about you. I had no time to take a bath or use one of my cars. I just grabbed my keys to my motorcycle and got on. I truly apologize in advance because we have no helmet for safety,” he said.
“Sky, I’m sorry to ask this, but do you want me to ride with you?” I asked in a low tone.
“Of course! Now get on,” he answered excitedly.
I was scared of getting on because I didn’t like what I saw on TV. They usually crashed and traveled at intense speeds.
“You won’t die or fall, I promise,” he said softly, then smiled warmly.
I nodded and got on, quickly wrapping my arms around his waist.
There was something about him that made me want to agree to his every word.
When he started it and drove off, I closed my eyes, holding him tightly.
“Open your eyes!” he said at the top of his voice, making me do it.
The breeze that was sweeping through my hair and on my face made me feel so free that I loosened my grip around him.
“You can do whatever you want; you won’t fall, I promise!” he said loudly.
“Don’t do it,” I whispered to myself silently but decided to just try what I wanted to.
I raised my arms in the air and laughed happily, enjoying the experience I was having.
