Dominic’s POV
I turned and looked at Snow when he walked in with one of the Deltas who worked for us.
“Leave us,” I commanded.
“Yes, sir,” the Delta responded and then gave a bow and walked out.
“Take a seat, Snow,” I said while I pointed at a chair which was in front of my desk.
He nodded and then pulled it back and sat down.
I too pulled my chair back as well and sat down.
When Ridge called, I was very surprised because I knew how much he hated me and Glen. But then he spoke about his banished Gamma and threatened me in the process.
Ignoring his words was easy, but then again, he could kick our asses because he was stronger than us. He would also find a way to ruin Glen’s reputation, which I wanted to avoid at all costs. As it was, our life was perfect, and having flaws in it wasn’t an option.
All I needed to do was to send Snow away without him being involved with Glen, that’s why I took over. Glen usually did things for the spotlight, and I understood that. If it were up to him, he would have taken in the Gamma and made sure he used him to better his self-image towards our own kind.
“I must admit, I am very surprised to see you here. Is there a problem with your pack, or did Ridge send you here?” I asked seriously.
“Alpha Dominic, why do I have a feeling that you know something?” He asked back as I chuckled softly.
He wasn’t that dumb compared to others I had met before.
“So you were banished?” I asked as he kept quiet and then nodded.
“What exactly did you do?” I asked seriously.
“I disobeyed and broke my Alpha’s trust for a she-wolf who later abandoned me,” he answered as I laughed softly.
Why were high (werewolf) male ranks obsessed with finding mates? When mates were females like any other. I saw no difference between a human female or she-wolf.
Glen and I didn’t believe in such bullshit. That’s why we were usually surprised over how males reacted to their mates.
We fucked whoever we were attracted to and chose not to commit to anyone. I mean, who in their right mind would want to eat only one dish for years when they could taste a thousand more?
“Was that she-wolf your mate?” I asked seriously.
“No,” he answered, making me laugh.
What was he, insane? How could he go against his leader for a female who wasn’t even his mate?
“I’m sorry for laughing,” I said, then cleared my throat when I noticed his cold gaze.
“Anyway, I’m assuming you want help. A house, some money, and a job, right?” I asked seriously.
“Yes,” he answered.
“Well, I do apologize because I can’t help you,” I said as he stood up.
“Why? Did I do something that you didn’t like, Alpha Dominic? Were my words offensive or disrespectful in any way?” He asked loudly.
“No, not at all. The fact that I don’t want to help you has to do with Ridge. Before you came here, he gave me a fair warning and asked me to ignore you,” I answered.
“Surely you can’t do that to me,” he said as I stood up lazily.
“I am deeply sorry, Snow, but going against Ridge is a little more dangerous than me chasing you out of my home. If you really want help, I suggest you go back to your pack and crawl on the ground, kissing Ridge’s feet. He may be angry right now, but he won’t kill you because you are one of his close friends whom he cherishes,” I answered.
He kept quiet and then brushed his hand through his hair.
“So that is it? You can’t even offer me some money or refer me to someone I can work for?” he asked.
“I can’t and I won’t because Ridge does have connections here. He will find out sooner or later if I do lend you a hand,” I answered.
“I see, then I guess I wasted my time coming here,” he whispered.
I walked to the door and opened it.
“Come on, let’s go out,” I said.
He hesitated and then moved and walked to where I was.
We both came out and went straight for the elevator.
Once we were in, I grabbed a bundle of money and handed it to him.
He widened his eyes in shock upon seeing it.
“Use this wisely. I can’t give you a house or a job because he will find out. I also can’t give you a check or a cell phone. The only thing that I can give you right now is some money. It’s not a lot but enough to sustain you through this month,” I said as he smiled and took it.
“Thank you so much, Alpha,” he answered happily.
“Snow, I like you for how ambitious and hardworking you are. That’s why I will give you this advice. Find a way or something that would make Ridge appreciate your help or existence. When that happens, I can guarantee he will take you back,” I said seriously.
I envied Jace’s Beta, Gamma, and Delta because of how close they were to each other. There was this unspoken understanding between them and this deep respect. If I could have them serve me, I would treat them right. That’s what I usually thought to myself whenever I thought about them. But then, would they even manage a day with me? Unlike Jace, I fired and made those that went against me disappear. Not that I killed them, but I killed and destroyed the very thing they believed in, be it their job, hopes, and dreams, so that they could feel a lot of pain.
“Thank you very much, Alpha Dominic,” he answered.
When the elevator doors opened, we both stepped out.
“If I do find a way to get back to my pack and have my Alpha’s forgiveness, can we hang out and have a drink one day?” He asked.
“Yes, I would love that,” I answered.
“Okay, I’ll keep that in mind and also I’m keeping this coat, it suits me,” he said as I smiled.
Before I could say anything more, he walked away, leaving me standing still.
There were only three ways for him now.
One was redemption. The second one was hell, and lastly, it was death.
