Lillian’s POV
I was stunned, at the same time happy, as I stood looking at him in a daze. In just a second, the kiss that felt like it would go on forever ended just like that. I wanted to feel more because it was mind-blowing, yet I didn’t know where to begin or how to ask.
Was it weird that our tongues touched? Was that why he immediately pulled back?
“Did you pull back because our tongues touched?” I asked in a low tone, then got startled when he laughed loudly.
That’s when it clicked that I was standing in the presence of Alpha Ridge.
“You are funny and naive in a cute way,” he said as he linked his hand with mine.
My heart was beating rapidly as I swallowed hard.
“Alpha Ridge, it’s…,”
“Cut the formalities. Call me Ridge,” he ordered and then moved my hand to his lips and kissed it.
I shyly smiled and looked to the side to avoid his intense gaze. He looked as if he would eat me up.
“Shall we go back?” He asked.
Go back? So soon?
“What?” He asked when a minute went by in silence.
“I don’t feel sleepy,” I answered softly as he chuckled.
“Is that your way of asking me to stay with you a little longer?” He asked.
“Yes,” I answered after hesitating.
“Well, I too want to spend more time with you. So let’s walk slowly as we go back,” he said, then turned.
I walked beside him in silence, sighing here and there.
I thought he understood that I wanted us to be together throughout the night.
I guess I was wrong.
“It’s cold, you might catch a cold,” he whispered without looking at me.
“Is that why we are going back in?” I asked.
“Of course,” he answered.
I kept quiet and looked at the stars a few times until we reached the pack house. Once we had walked in, we went upstairs without talking to anyone or looking at them.
I was expecting him to escort me to my room when he turned and went to another room as I followed. He opened the door and looked at me.
“Come on in,” he said softly.
I slowly let go of his hand and walked in.
The room was filled with his scent and it was as large as mine. It also looked very similar.
The only difference was the color of things. There was also a balcony close to the window and opposite the desk.
“This is our room, by ‘our’ I mean Jace and I,” he said when he had closed the door behind us.
“It’s similar to mine,” I pointed out the obvious.
“That’s because we wanted to feel some type of closure to you,” he answered.
I walked to the bed and put the jacket he had given me there. I was no longer feeling cold.
“The sky sure is pretty,” I muttered to myself and went to the balcony looking up with a smile.
I raised my hand to the sky and closed my eyes, remembering how Jace had done the same once in my room.
I instantly opened my eyes when he stood behind me and raised his hand, brushing it against mine.
“Jace usually does this,” he whispered softly.
I leaned my body deliberately against his and smiled widely.
“I know, I saw him do that on my balcony,” I answered.
“That’s something he usually does whenever he wants to feel at peace,” he said softly.
I tensed when he dropped his hand and wrapped them around my waist, leaning in and resting his head against my shoulder.
“This feels so unreal,” he whispered, his warm breath touching my skin.
A shiver went throughout my body, and my nipples hardened.
“Would you like to spend a night with me?” He asked.
I quickly turned and faced him with widened eyes.
“What?” I asked nervously.
“You didn’t want us to be apart, right? We feel the same way, that’s why I figured sharing a bed wouldn’t be such a bad idea,” he answered.
No, I wasn’t ready! I wanted to spend more time with him, but that didn’t mean I wanted to have sex or to mate with either him or Jace.
He chuckled softly and then hit his face lightly with his hand.
“It’s not what you are thinking about. I don’t want us to rush into mating and marking each other; that will only happen if you fully forgive and accept us. I know that you aren’t in love with us right now or have any feelings for us, and it’s okay, we will wait. But I wanted to spend more time with you; sadly, it’s very late. That’s why I thought of us sharing a bed. I swear I won’t do anything you aren’t comfortable with,” he said as I felt embarrassed.
Why was I so easy to read? It was embarrassing! Although he was wrong about one thing. We did have feelings for him and Jace, no matter how cold Maila and I acted.
“I guess that isn’t a bad idea,” I answered and then moved to the bed and sat at the edge looking at him.
“Are we laying down now?” He asked in a surprised tone.
“Well, yes, do you need to shower or something?” I asked back seriously.
“No, not at all since we won’t be sleeping,” he answered and then began to walk towards me while unbuttoning his shirt.
I quickly shifted my gaze to the side, not wanting to look at him desperately. I didn’t want to come off as a thirsty mate drooling all over him.
“But is it okay if you don’t take a bath?” He asked when I felt the bed dip.
“It’s okay,” I answered and then looked at him.
He was lying on the side facing me with a warm smile.
“Aren’t you going to move closer?” He asked.
I got on the bed and looked at him, trying so hard not to lower my gaze to his abs.
“Now that I’m defenseless, what will my Luna do to me?” He asked playfully.
“Pinch you,” I answered.
“That would be showing kindness,” he said as we both laughed softly.
When we stopped, he sighed then closed his eyes.
I knew he was doing that with no intentions, yet I couldn’t just sit still.
I leaned in and pressed my lips against his. He quickly opened his eyes and gazed at me in shock.
I was about to pull away when he moved his hand, grabbing the back of my head and pulling me forward as he kissed me back.
I happily parted my lips to taste more of him while I rested my hand against his chest, shamelessly letting out a moan.
