Maila’s POV
I looked at the bastard who was unconscious on the ground in tears, then took a deep breath.
This was what we both wanted, yet why was she now stopping me?
“He doesn’t deserve us!” I yelled angrily.
“I know, but don’t kill him!” Lillian screamed back.
“Are you kidding me! Weren’t you mute hours ago and refused to talk to me or respond to anyone? Why now! Do you have strong feelings for this trash!” I yelled.
“No,” came her sad response.
Who did she think I was? I was a part of her; that’s why I knew how she felt about him. She was angry as I was, yet a part of us still wanted him.
“Then don’t get in my way to do what I want, Lillian. He has never liked us in any way, and he never will. Him going down on his knees is a show because he has now realized what we are capable of doing. We are now of higher rank,” I said furiously.
When a minute went by without her response, I walked to the door and opened it roughly, looking at the two fools who immediately bowed low.
They were standing a few meters away from the door.
They were all very concerned for their Alpha, yet when he was doing shit to me, they just watched in amusement.
“He bleeds until he heals,” I said as Talic looked at me with a pleading expression.
“He bleeds until he heals,” I repeated in a loud growl.
He quickly lowered his face to the ground.
I moved back into the room and looked at his unconscious body again, sadly.
Why was it painful for us to see him like this? It hurt more than any wound we had ever had.
“He deserves it,” I whispered bitterly and then sat down on the bed, looking at him as tears continued to roll down my cheek.
Our dream seemed childish and naive now that he was right in front of us. We thought it was finally our chance to be happy when we turned eighteen. Who could have known it would be a nightmare?
I wiped away my tears when he moved his fingers and groaned in pain.
He was finally waking up. He was an Alpha, so his healing ability was excellent.
I moved my hand to my arm and clawed at it slowly.
My body was dying to run to his side and tend to him.
He opened his eyes and blinked a few times before slowly looking at me.
“Don’t hurt yourself,” he whispered in a cracked voice, then coughed out blood.
I stood up and walked to the balcony to get some fresh air. My reasoning was dying out by the second, and I didn’t want to see that sad expression on his face. It’s like he felt bad seeing us hurt when he didn’t.
“Take him away before I kill him,” I whispered in the pack’s mind-link, knowing very well that everyone was listening.
In just a minute, the door burst open. The Beta and Delta rushed in quickly and knelt down, grabbing the bastard on each side.
I looked at them through the sides as they walked out of the room with him.
“Flora, come to my room, now,” I commanded through the mind-link and then went to the bathroom to wash my bloody hands.
Did he feel like I did every time he raised his hands to hurt me? Was it hard and unbearable to do it?
No, of course not.
If it was, I could have seen sympathy on his face or hesitation back then. He felt nothing when he did, so I had to do the same.
“Luna,” Flora called as she knocked on the door.
“Get in,” I answered loudly while I turned off the tap and looked at myself in the mirror.
“I’m okay, we are okay,” I whispered softly, hoping it would comfort Lillian.
Whenever we were sad or experiencing pain, she said the very words to me, and it made me feel a little better.
I walked out of the bathroom and looked at Flora, who was staring at the bloody floor seriously.
“I’ll be taking a walk, so finish up quickly,” I ordered.
“Yes, Luna,” she answered.
I came out of the room and walked downstairs, looking around. It was awfully quiet, and I found that surprising because the pack was usually lively whenever the bastard was around.
Lillian and some other she-wolves worked from morning to evening without much rest, doing chores. Well, it was mostly her, but still, it was lively. The warriors came in and out as much as they wanted to.
When I came out, I looked around and noticed how everyone was avoiding my gaze.
I smirked and went straight to where a few she-wolves were standing.
When I got closer, they quickly bowed.
“Hey,” I said once I was in front of them.
They hesitated but looked up. My gaze was fixed on only two of them.
“Your names are… Brenda and Sylvia, right?” I asked the two who immediately nodded.
“We are honored to be remembered by you, Luna,” Brenda answered in a respectful tone.
“Luna,” I whispered softly with detest as her words rang in my mind.
“What was it you said to my human? ‘You are a living definition of a pig and nothing about your body is appealing?’ ‘Your eyes are dull and your hair is a mess that doesn’t make sense because the color couldn’t be seen.’ ‘Is it white or just garbage brown?’ Weren’t those the beautiful words you told her?” I asked as she loudly gasped and went down on her knees.
“I was wrong, Luna, please show mercy,” she said loudly.
“And you, Sylvia, what did you call her, ‘fat bitch’?” I asked as she too went down on her knees.
Why was everyone quick to beg for forgiveness? It made things boring and rather easy. Why were they not putting up a fight? Oh well, it didn’t matter anymore.
“You are lucky I have a heart of forgiveness,” I said as they both smiled.
“Thank you, Luna. Thank you so much for showing kindness,” she said as I smiled, then grabbed them by the hair and dragged them back to the pack house, not minding their screams.
I pulled them downstairs to a dark room as they stumbled, hurting themselves while trying to keep up.
Once I was in front of the door, I let them go, and they fell to the ground. I looked at my hands. In my grasp were strands of their hair, and when I looked up, I noticed how part of their scalp was bleeding.
They were crying as if it were a funeral, even though their dear Alpha was still alive.
“Relax,” I whispered and then moved to the door, unlocking it.
The door automatically locked itself from the outside. Whoever was inside needed someone from the outside to unlock it to come out.
“Go in,” I said seriously.
Sylvia looked at me, then stood up with weak knees and walked in.
“You too, Brenda, go on in,” I said calmly.
“No,” came Brenda’s response.
“I think I must have misheard,” I whispered to myself.
“I said no, you crazy fat bitch!” she exclaimed.
“Ah, so it was as I had heard,” I whispered softly, then turned to walk away so I could find a chain to use to whip her body when Lillian spoke angrily.
“Kill her,” came her loud command, and with that, I turned and slit her throat open.
“Finally, we are on the same page, Lily,” I whispered as Sylvia screamed out in horror.
