Book:THE ALPHA'S REKINDLED BOND Published:2025-2-8

Talic’s POV
I stood in the Alpha’s office, looking at him speechless.
He was going through his files with a smile plastered on his face, without paying attention to me or even looking my way.
I had already talked to the warriors and told them what was going on, as well as a few pack members so they could show discretion.
As for Leah, she was banned from seeing him. It was a command and order I had given her, and I was sure she was going to heed it. As it was, the Alpha wouldn’t waste any time in killing her if she said something to anger him.
“Alpha,” I called softly.
When a minute went by, I frowned deeply.
I couldn’t understand why Ridge wasn’t taking over and pushing his human into their subconscious. I understood that the pain was too much to handle, but we still needed him to govern us.
“Sir,” I called softly.
Whenever I did that, Ridge took over without hesitation.
“How is Lillian?” came a response, and then he looked up to meet my eyes.
It was still Alpha Jace, and that made me feel very concerned.
Something was terribly wrong for Alpha Ridge not to take over after I had called on him.
“The Luna is okay, she is being taken good care of. By now, they are done, I think,” I answered in a respectful tone.
“Great!” he exclaimed and then stood up with a smile.
“I’ll go and see her now,” he said as he walked to the door and grabbed the handle.
“Aren’t you joining me?” he asked.
“I am Alpha,” I answered and then walked with him out of the office.
When we went into the room where our dead Luna was, we were both stunned.
She looked very different even though she was dead.
Her long hair was slightly trimmed, brushed, and styled into beautiful curls. Her face had light makeup on, and she looked so pretty.
She was in a beautiful white long dress with her arms crossed on her stomach. She looked more like a sleeping princess than a dead one, and just that thought made me roll my eyes in frustration.
She was a corpse! Why was I even thinking like that!
“Wow, you look amazing,” the Alpha whispered as he moved closer and sat at the edge of the bed.
“You also smell amazing,” he said, then cleared his throat.
“I hope you don’t mind that I came here with my Beta. He wanted to apologize for what he had done to you,” he whispered as I raised a brow in confusion.
“Isn’t that right, Harvey?” He asked.
I hesitated but took a few steps forward and bowed low to my waist.
“Please, Luna, do forgive me and the others for how disrespectful we were to you in the past. I promise that I’ll see to it…” I cut my sentence short and looked at Jace seriously.
“This won’t work,” I said under my breath.
“What are you talking about?” He asked.
“I know how much you are hurting right now, Alpha, but that’s a corpse you are talking to. Our true Luna is dead; she drowned in water. That over there is the remaining part of her decaying soul!” I said at the top of my voice, then got startled and scared when he stood up at a quick pace, grabbing me by the neck.
His grip wasn’t one to choke me, but it came as a warning.
“I dare you to say that again,” he whispered coldly.
I have had it; this time I cared less if he would kill or injure me. I needed to talk to him or at least call out Alpha Ridge.
I pushed his hand away, shocking him.
“She is dead, Jace, so please let her rest. I have served you all my life, both you and Ridge, and there was never a day I said things to hurt you. I have always been truthful and loyal to you. That’s why it hurts me to see you this miserable when we are like blood brothers,” I said seriously at the top of my voice.
He was about to speak when he touched his head.
“Alpha, are you…..,”
Before I could finish my sentence, he stumbled. He was about to hit the ground when I quickly grabbed him by the hand, wasting no time in moving closer so he could balance on me.
“Talic, I’m dying,” he whispered in a husky voice.
I knew there and then it was Alpha Ridge who was in control.
I slowly moved to the bed and carefully helped him lay next to the dead Luna.
His eyes were closed, but his breathing was badly labored. Sweat was forming on his forehead, and his hands were trembling.
“Healer, please hurry up, something is terribly wrong with the Alpha,” I mind-linked her as I tried not to panic.
In just a few minutes, Snow and the healer rushed into the room.
The healer quickly kneeled on the ground and grabbed the Alpha’s hand.
“I’ll begin to transfer my energy to him; under no circumstances should you disrupt me,” she said with emphasis.
I nodded and then walked out of the room with Snow.
“What happened?” Snow asked seriously.
“I couldn’t let our Alpha live in his delusional world, so I told him the actual facts that our Luna was dead. My words were hush, but they were enough to let Alpha Ridge take over,” I said as Snow smiled.
“He said he was dying, that’s all he could say,” I whispered sadly as his smile vanished.
“Talic, what are we going to do? I fear the Alpha may be dying,” he said as I felt my heart ache.
“Snow, you are now in charge of the pack. You will be released when the Alpha recovers. Las will be the one to assist you in everything,” I said as he frowned.
“What do you mean by that?” He asked.
“The Alpha needs help, and he won’t get that needed help if we all sit and rely only on the healer who is using energy and healing power. It may reduce the Alpha’s pain and improve his health a little bit, but that won’t last long. I need to seek real help,” I answered seriously.
“From whom?” He exclaimed.
“From a witch who practices black magic,” I answered, seriously shocking him.
There was no going back when my mind was made up. I was going to look for that witch or any witch who could help me. Even if it meant my own death.
We were the ones who allowed our humans to put him in such a state, and now it was our responsibility to undo it or find a way out.
