Chapter 121 I Won’t Leave

Book:Let Me Go, Sugar Daddy Published:2025-2-8

Conrad looked up, only to be blinded by the glaring headlights of the truck, which lit up the scene in a blinding white.
In just a moment of stunned hesitation, Conrad decisively pulled Lillian into his arms, protecting her against his chest. In the next instant, the driver slammed the steering wheel, causing the car to lose balance. Countless chunks of ice slid from the truck’s cargo hold, and Conrad’s back slammed directly into the truck’s side.
The massive impact jolted through Conrad’s strong embrace and hit Lillian’s chest. She nearly coughed up blood. Large ice chunks scraped past her nose, falling onto the road they had just passed.
The driver continued his erratic swerving and crashing.
Gordon was right behind them, chasing relentlessly, his headlights flashing into the truck’s cargo hold.
Conrad grabbed a piece of rope from the floor and tied their waists together.
“Lillian, dare to try something thrilling?”
Lillian didn’t have time to respond before Conrad yanked her waist toward him. Just as Gordon pretended to rush toward the truck’s front, forcing the driver to jerk the steering wheel, and then Gordon suddenly yanked the wheel in the opposite direction. As they swerved, Conrad leaped into the air, wrapping his body around Lillian and landing on top of her, clinging to the truck’s roof.
As Lillian felt the world spin around her, a deafening crash and a wave of heat burst from behind Conrad!
The truck’s front smashed directly into the guardrail, and the impact was so powerful that it was dragged into the truck’s interior. The driver’s head was impaled by the shattered glass. The truck, now completely uncontrollable, exploded!
The fiery explosion lit up the dark sky like daylight.
The bridge’s emergency power grid shut down.
Lillian’s eardrums rang with the intense sound, and she couldn’t hear anything. All she could see was Conrad, lying on top of her, fully shielding her with his body. His hands, like iron clamps, gripped the window frame so tightly that his knuckles turned white. He shielded her completely beneath him.
The fire’s light illuminated her eyes, and she clearly saw the man above her.
Despite the pain he had caused her, despite his stubbornness, he was still the man who had repeatedly risked everything for her!
Lillian didn’t think, only reaching out to hold onto him tightly.
Conrad was panting, his breath coming in short bursts, while explosions continued around them. The parts of the truck were sent flying into the air. One of the pieces landed directly on Conrad’s back, causing him to grunt in pain.
Gordon, enduring the sharp pain in his leg, pushed forward at full speed. He had to ensure that both of them stayed on the car’s roof without falling off.
“Conrad! Are you alright?!”
“I’m fine!” Conrad responded.
Lillian looked at him as he lay on top of her, flashing a grin that showed his white teeth.
“Lillian, I told you, the people who want me dead haven’t shown up yet. You try leaving that damn necklace I gave you behind, and I’ll kill you!”
Once Conrad spoke those words, the explosions finally died down.
Gordon began slowing down, gradually coming to a stop at the end of the road.
A crowd of people rushed toward them.
When Conrad released his grip, his fingers were trembling. However, the rope tying them together wouldn’t loosen. He carefully untied it, then jumped down from the roof. He picked Lillian up and cradled her in his arms.
The tall, sturdy man, covered in injuries, carried the blood-soaked woman in his arms. With every step he took, blood pooled beneath his feet.
“Sir!” Andrew rushed forward.
Gordon opened the car door, watching as Lillian’s long hair blew in the wind, catching on Conrad’s arm.
“Where’s the ambulance?! The stretcher!”
“Sir, let me carry her!” Andrew said urgently.
Conrad shook his head, gently laying Lillian down on the stretcher and straightening up.
However, before he could stand fully, Lillian grabbed the hem of his clothes.
Conrad looked down.
Lillian softly whispered, “What about you…”
“I won’t leave.” He only left those words, and that was when Lillian closed her eyes.
If there was anyone in this world with whom Lillian could feel at ease, she sadly realized that it could only be Conrad.
Only Conrad.
And yet, how fortunate she was, that even when she had nothing, she still had Conrad.
“Mr. Conrad!”
“Sir!”
“Conrad!”
Conrad had fallen unconscious.

“A serious car accident occurred on the North Port Bridge. The scene has been cleared, and citizens planning to travel tomorrow are advised to take alternate routes…”
The hospital’s TV was still looping the news about the bridge explosion.
When Daisy entered the hospital wearing high heels, a group of patients were discussing the incident.
“It was that serious? Was there no casualties?”
“The driver died instantly. They say he was drunk driving, which caused the accident. Thankfully, no one else was injured.”
Daisy, wearing a wide-brimmed black hat, stepped into the elevator.
As soon as the doors opened, she saw Evelyn arguing with the bodyguards.
“Just let me in to see Conrad! How can I not be by his side when he’s hurt?”
Daisy strode forward and slapped Evelyn, sending her head spinning.
“You hit me?!” Evelyn cried, holding her face, and staring at Daisy in disbelief.
Daisy’s face remained cold as she stared back at her. “Hitting you disgusts me. It would be like dirtying my hands.”
It was this little bitch that Daisy had someone teach a lesson to that night. And now she was trying to shift the blame. If it wasn’t for her, how could Conrad have gotten into this mess?
If the Brown family found out what happened that night, how would she explain herself?
“What are you still standing there for? Letting this woman keep causing a scene? Get her out of here!”
After Daisy spoke, several White family bodyguards dragged Evelyn away. Daisy kicked the lunchbox Evelyn had left behind and walked over.
“Where’s Assistant Ford? I’ve contacted him already. Why can’t I see Mr. Conrad?”
“Sorry, we can’t disclose that.”
Daisy pursed her lips, worried that her involvement in that night’s events might be uncovered. But all her people had returned unharmed, so who exactly was the driver who crashed into the guardrail?
She still had no idea what had happened to Conrad.
The information blackout was tight-no one, even Hogan’s group, knew anything about Conrad’s situation.
It was completely normal for Conrad to be absent from Brown Family Group for half a month. No one would raise suspicion. But as the saying goes, “guilty conscience”-Daisy couldn’t shake the feeling that Conrad was planning to sever ties with her White family.
Daisy said, “Please pass a message to Assistant Ford for me. I’m very concerned about Conrad. If there’s any update, please contact me.”
As Daisy turned to leave, she saw her grandfather’s attending physician walking past her.
Wasn’t this the specialist Conrad had taken from her grandfather? He had supposedly been brought in to treat a very important elderly friend.
Even now, her grandfather was still waiting for news, but the White family dared not speak out about it.
Daisy thought for a moment and went to the nurse’s station to inquire.
“Sorry, this information is not for public release.”
Daisy pulled out a card. “Can you speak now?”
“Miss Daisy, we really don’t know much about this. Besides, this involves a top-tier patient.”
George’s hospital was like a bucket-tight-lipped and secretive.
The more they kept from her, the more curious Daisy became.
“Miss, where should we go now?”
Daisy took a deep breath. “Contact the editors of several media outlets. While you’re at it, leak Evelyn’s dirty secrets and send out her photos entering high-end places with those rich young masters. Let’s see how long her innocent, inspirational dream girl persona lasts!”
“Got it.”
