Chapter 60 Give It Back To Me

When Conrad had exploded for the third time in his office, Ford finally saw Lillian arrive at the company.
She was wearing the latest designer suit, her hair tied in a high ponytail. The rounded back of her head and her youthful appearance instantly brought life to the otherwise tense atmosphere in the CEO’s office.
Everyone pretended to be busy on the phone, but they were all watching her out of the corner of their eyes as she gracefully pushed open the CEO’s office door, and then casually activated the privacy mode.
It made people wonder what she would do in there.
Recently, Conrad had been making some big moves. Because of Hunter’s situation, Hunter’s family and the Brown family were at each other’s throats, on the brink of wanting each other dead.
Naturally, Hunter’s father wouldn’t just watch his son die, and Conrad was pushing them step by step.
But to his surprise, Hunter’s father had gone to Gordon’s family to apologize first, offering a large share of profits to them, while ignoring Conrad’s side.
Conrad couldn’t allow anyone to move against him and get away unharmed. If they did, anyone could take advantage of him, and he wouldn’t let that happen.
While City N appeared peaceful on the surface, there were turbulent undercurrents below. The stock market was fluctuating, and only Lillian, that heartless woman, was still pushing his buttons, unaware of the danger she was in.
When Lillian stepped into the room, Conrad glanced at her briefly, then turned his attention back to the computer.
Lillian put down her bag and then walked over with a food container. “Have you eaten? I specially made a few home-cooked dishes, the ones you love. Can you do me a favor and try them?”
In the past, when she made him angry, she would cook or do something in bed to win him over. But it had been a long time since he’d enjoyed those privileges.
Conrad looked at her with a neutral expression. “I’m not eating.”
Lillian opened the food container by herself and then leaned down to cuddle his arm, acting coy. “I spent a long time making this, the fish is really hard to make, and it’s complicated.”
She kissed his cheek as she spoke. “Try it?”
“Being so obedient today, what do you want?” he asked.
“Since Taylor Mansion is gone, I can’t do anything to please you? What if you take everything back? Wouldn’t I lose out?” Lillian looked up and blinked. “Can you give me back Taylor Mansion?”
Every little detail there had been carefully arranged by her.
She loved doing handcrafts, so she had the designer combine the study and the workbench. On weekends when she had no classes, she would stay home and wait for Conrad, spending the afternoon there.
The flowers in the garden were all chosen by her according to her preferences. She was worried about Evelyn’s parents ruining them.
Not just the living room, but every corner of the house had been infused with her thoughts.
For a while, she really thought she had found a place to settle.
If it weren’t for that day when Conrad brought friends over to Taylor Mansion for mahjong, she had prepared fruit to bring over.
She overheard him, smoking and mocking.
“Marry her? Are you kidding me?”
“If she has such unrealistic ideas, she’d better leave as soon as possible.”
“If I ever marry a woman, it will only be one who is of value.”
That was the moment she hesitated for a long time, realizing her identity and position.
She was no longer the young lady of the Lewis family, no longer the princess everyone cherished.
No one in the world would love her unconditionally anymore.
She only had herself left.
She had grown used to smiling gracefully, becoming indifferent to others’ mockery, letting insults roll off her back.
She had practiced this so well already.
Just like now, she could put on the most perfect smile and attitude to please him.
“Lillian, do you have no shame?” Conrad glanced at her.
Yesterday she said it didn’t matter, and today she was trying to find ways to ask him for things. Though he had already planned to get her a new villa, he didn’t want to tell her, fearing she’d cause trouble again.
“That place isn’t suitable for you, pick another one.”
Lillian’s heart sank. “Do you really love Evelyn that much?”
Conrad gave her a half-smile. “What do you think?”
Lillian stared at him with her eyes, while quickly unzipping his pants.
“I think your balls love me more.”
“Does Evelyn know what you like, Mr. Conrad? Do you think anyone understands you as I do?”
Conrad admitted that her words completely satisfied his twisted sense of humor.
But what Evelyn did in bed had nothing to do with him; the one he wanted to sleep with was only this girl in front of him.
“Since you like Taylor Mansion so much, I’ll get you another one exactly like it.”
“I don’t want it. Even if you make another one, it’s fake. It’s not the one I personally arranged. Just disinfect it. If you really give it to her, I’ll ignore you.” She said this softly, and there was even a glimmer of tears in her eyes.
Conrad actually didn’t like seeing Lillian crying like that.
He pinched her chin. “Is it really worth shedding tears over something so trivial? Wait until I’m dead before you come cry at my funeral. That’ll be just fine. If you want it, take it back. It was always meant for you anyway.”
Lillian blinked, looking down and unwilling to speak, but her expression showed that she was happy. “You were just trying to scare me with what you said earlier.”
Conrad pulled her onto his lap, and Lillian’s chin rested on his shoulder.
Out of his sight, the flirtatious expression on her face faded, replaced by cold silence.
“You’re so obedient today?” Conrad seemed very pleased. “Want something?”
Lillian curled her lips into a smile. “You still don’t know what I love?”
“As long as you don’t love me, that’s fine.”
Even though she had mentally prepared herself, hearing those words from his own mouth still felt completely different.
