Chapter 29 A White-knight Complex

“Why not tell him you’re here?” Conrad’s cold breath brushed against her ear. “Or are you scared he’ll find out?”
“How far along are you two? When did you start hooking up? Or were you thinking about him every time you were with me, wishing it was him fucking you?”
He chuckled darkly. “Too bad. The only one who could fuck you is me.”
Conrad ran his tongue over the curve of her ear with a sneer. “Oh, look at those tears-my favorite aphrodisiac. Admit it, it gets you going too, doesn’t it?”
“Lillian, are you in there or what? Don’t go doing anything crazy just over one guy! Look, I’ll find you twenty more guys if that’s what it takes!” After knocking for what felt like forever, Gordon eventually sighed and walked away, realizing no one was answering.
Lillian exhaled in relief, but Conrad only wrapped his arm around her legs, lifting her entirely. “Behave.”
She hated this man with everything in her.
“Twenty men? Not even they would be enough for you,” he mocked. “See how well everything fits?”
The intensity of the sensations made Lillian’s toes curl. Her bandaged hand rested on his shoulder, and she could feel his control over every inch of her.
“Stop crying. You’re already soaked, crying is not going to help. Save your energy-you’ll be exhausted, and I’ll have to drag you to the hospital.”
Lillian wiped her tears stubbornly, refusing to look at him. As he shivered with his release, she suddenly blurted, “You didn’t wear a condom!”
“If you get pregnant, then have the baby. I can afford to raise a child.”
“Conrad, screw you!”
“Mm, I’m waiting,” he replied with maddening calm.

When Conrad finally came back to the booth, he looked completely satisfied. Gordon narrowed his eyes, noticing that Lillian walked in a bit later.
“Where did you two go? You’re only just getting back,” Gordon asked. The food had long gone cold, and everyone else had finished eating one hour ago.
Lillian shrugged. “Just went to ask about how much they pay here for shifts.”
Everyone knew Lillian needed a lot of money to support her grandma and send cash back home, so no one was surprised. At first, people thought she was just some kept girl, using connections to get into school, so she didn’t have many friends. But after a while, they saw her family situation, always working part-time jobs and even trying to pay off debts, and the school had even organized visits to see her grandma. And most importantly, Lillian was actually really good in her field; the school often prioritized her for work opportunities.
Gordon was surprised, though. He hadn’t known she was still taking on jobs while hanging around Conrad.
Meanwhile, Janet had been calling Evelyn nonstop, until Evelyn finally blocked her in frustration. Seeing Lillian come back looking like that, all flushed and satisfied, Evelyn gritted her teeth, picturing this “vixen” luring men in.
As the dinner wrapped up, Jack prepared to take the students out, just hoping Conrad wouldn’t stir up trouble with Lillian again. “Thank you for tonight, Mr. Conrad. I’ll take the students back now. Evelyn’s shoot will go on as scheduled tomorrow.”
“Alright, go on,” Conrad replied, in an unusually good mood, surprisingly agreeable.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief-they could finally leave.
When they reached the ground floor, Conrad had a car ready for them, but Gordon pulled Lillian aside. “You’re coming with me.”
Since Lillian didn’t live on campus-everyone knew she lived off-site for work-no one thought twice about it.
Meanwhile, Evelyn, noticing Conrad’s displeased frown, clutched her chest and began breathing heavily. “Conrad… I don’t feel well… please, help…”
“What’s wrong now?” While Conrad was distracted asking, Gordon had already nudged Lillian into his car and sped off.
Andrew grabbed Evelyn, who had been trying to cling to Conrad, and lifted her into the car.
“Conrad, I can’t relax if I don’t see you,” Evelyn murmured, still holding onto him tightly.
Conrad lowered his gaze. “I’m not leaving. Drive us to the hospital!”
He climbed into the car, and Evelyn finally looked relieved, seeing he was actually coming with her.
Conrad glanced back at Ford, who hadn’t gotten into the car, his stare icy and menacing. Ford understood that if it hadn’t been for Evelyn, Conrad would’ve probably snatched the car and rammed straight into Gordon and Lillian’s vehicle. He quickly turned and got into the other car.
Gordon hit the gas, and Lillian slumped in exhaustion. “Drop me off at the next intersection.”
“No way. What if someone snatches you off the street?”
“Fine, take me to the Sunshine Bay.”
“The Sunshine Bay? Not staying at the Student Apartments anymore?”
“I’m crashing with a friend. Thanks for helping me out tonight.” If Conrad really got it in his head to mess with Gordon, she’d owe him big time.
“Helping you out is no trouble. I’ve got a bit of a white-knight complex-I can’t stand seeing a woman treated unfairly.”
Lillian couldn’t help but laugh. Gordon glanced at her, noticing her eyes sparkled with humor, though there was something more beneath it.
“So you’re tangled up with Conrad again?”
“Can we not talk about him?”
“Alright, sorry for prying.” He dropped her off at the Sunshine Bay. As she got out, he leaned over the steering wheel, lowering the window. “If you’re suffering so much with him, why not consider switching to someone else, like me?”
“The day you fall for me, and I fall for you, I’ll think about taking the risk to be with you,” she teased.
He chuckled, raising an eyebrow. “That’s a tall order-you won’t settle for less than love?”
“I’ve already been with him for money. I can’t keep doing that every year. It’d get so boring,” She waved him off, heading toward the gate. Once there, she called her friend, Melissa, to ask her to let security know she’d be arriving.
Gordon stayed parked at the gate, smoking, and spotted Conrad’s car nearby. He gave a wry smile before driving off.
When Melissa opened the door for her, she looked at Lillian with wide eyes. “My God, what’s with your look? The battle-worn style?”
Lillian kicked off her shoes with a sigh. “Long story. Don’t ask. By the way, do you have any birth control pills? I need a couple.”
“I don’t have any!” Melissa blurted, clearly flustered.
Lillian raised a brow. “Didn’t you buy a box last time, and would take one as soon as George left? I mean, judging by how often you two are together, you couldn’t have finished the pack already. Come on, help me out.”
She barely finished talking when she noticed Melissa frantically signaling her, eyes wide. There, sitting in the living room, looking cold and refined, was George himself.
