29. Trapped once again

His words shattered my false notion and proved that I actually don’t have anywhere to go.
I was trapped.
Completely trapped.
He was sitting in the car like a king of an empire, his own cruel empire. His legs spread wide, and his elbows rested on his knees. He was sitting on more than half of the seat while I was scrunched to one side.
My gaze stayed outside, watching the world pass by. I could see people going around there normally Though the tears were pricking my eyes, I thought not to let them slip out of my eyes. I curled my fist so tightly that my nails dug into my skin. My tears give him pleasure and boost his ego.
I know, now I am completely helpless in his hands and he could do anything he wants with me but still, I will not give him the satisfaction of seeing me broken.
I didn’t say anything to him for the rest of the journey because I was sure that arguing had no point now.
He wants the break my spirit but I will never let that happen.
Abruptly, the car came to a halt in front of his home, the cage from which I ran away after so much struggle.
Opening the door to his side, he stepped out and forcefully pulled me out of the car as well. I stumbled alongside him, feeling like a ragdoll being dragged, and like every other time, I struggled to keep up with his speed.
His men, who always stayed around him that kill anyone at his command, were following us. I wonder how much money they get when without any remorse. Maybe he has kept one of their family members at gunpoint.
Who knows?
At first, I thought that he would take me back to the room where he would show me his cruelty but I was surprised when he took me to the back side of the house, from where a way led to the basement.
I didn’t know that this house had a basement as well, which looked no less than a dungeon. There was a small bulb from which yellow light was illuminating but it was not enough to illuminate the whole darkness of the dungeon.
There were two rooms attached to it, one was locked while the other was open and I could see that there were a few chairs and a small bed.
It was giving me creepy vibes as if countless people have already been punished here. My imagination ran wild with the horrors that might have taken place within these dimly lit walls. I trembled with apprehension, unable to predict what Ansell had planned for me this time.
He motioned for me to stand in the center of the room, his demeanor was that of a ruler claiming his dominion. I scanned the room, searching for any opportunity to escape, but the watchful eyes of his men dashed my hopes.
He left me in the middle of the room and walked to the chair like a King. My eyes moved from here to there and when I was sure that all of them were quite away from me, I decided to try my luck once again.
Turning on my heels, I ran but the instinct of his man was so fast that two of them grabbed me from both sides before I could reach the door and brought me back to square one.
“Let me go!” I pleaded, struggling against their iron hold, but my pleas fell on deaf ears, just like they did with their merciless leader.
“I didn’t order to catch her” he seethed, “just leave her” Ansell commanded, his roar reverberating in the room.
His order not only took me by surprise but the men who were holding me also froze in their places.
“Take your hands back from her” he said, his eyes shooting fireballs at the place where they were holding me. “I don’t want any of you to touch her without my permission or I will not take even a second to cut your hands”
I shuddered when I heard the seriousness in his voice. I gulped because, at the moment, he was looking so dangerous.
“Leave us alone and lock the door from outside. I am enough to handle this wild cat”
The men bowed in front of him and before I could understand what was going on, they disappeared from our sight. I heard the sound of the door closing, confirming that they were now out of the room.
“Who told you the way out of the house through the library?” He asked me in a challenging tone, which grabbed my attention.
There was no one at the home, so how did he come to know that I escaped through the library?
“Because the one who told you about the escape route forgot to tell you about the CCTV cameras that are fitted all around the home”
I gasped as reality hit me hard. How can I be so stupid? How didn’t I see the CCTV cameras around me? I should have cut off the electricity supply first.
“It’s of no use now to think about what you could have done or not. Now if you don’t want me to add to your punishment, then tell me about that ditcher” his tone was calm but it was threatening and chilling enough to shudder me to the core.
“It doesn’t matter how well you have trapped me” I shot back, trying to muster some courage. “What matters is that I still managed to slip away from your clutches and that even your strongest security cannot stop me”
His jaw clenched as he stood up and took authoritative steps towards me. The sound of his boots clicking against the floor resonated in the room but I didn’t move back. First, I didn’t want to show him that I had surrendered and second, there was no way for me to escape even if I wanted to.
The tension in the air thickened with each step he took toward me. His eyes, which were filled with darkness, were locked with mine as he stopped just an inch away from me.
“You speak a lot!” He snapped, his voice laced with irritation. “Don’t you?”
He clearly didn’t like what I said about his security. But this is true. I ran under the nose of his security and they were not even able to catch me.
My thoughts were cut short when, abruptly, he pulled out his gun and grabbed my jaw so tightly that I winced in pain and my lips parted to scream out of pain. He took advantage of that and placed the gun on my parted lips. The world around me seemed to narrow down to the barrel into my mouth and I could feel the tears pricking my eyes on their own as he pushed the barrel inside, more than I could take.
As an instinctive reaction, I tried to pull away, assuming that he might pull the trigger and kill me but his iron grip on my jaw kept me in prison in his hold, making me immobile. I wanted to scream at him but my voice came out muffled with my mouth being stuffed with the gun I never imagined.
My eyes widened in surprised as he pushed the gun deeper into my mouth, which seemed impossible for me and I felt the urge to puke. He pulled the gun back slightly, only to give me a few seconds to breathe through my nose, then thrust it forward again, forcing it deeper into my mouth. The taste of metal and the coldness against my tongue make me want to vomit.
His eyes stayed fixed on the way the barrel of the gun disappeared into my mouth, the the beast was quite visible in his eyes, which wanted to consume me.
“His intentions were quite clear in his eyes, which he didn’t even try to hide. My heart raced at the mere thought of it. I would bite him if he forced me to do something like that and I don’t even care if he took my life after that.
“And about my power? Let me make it clear: one of my men was the one who captured you, played the part of your suppose helper, and then reported your every move back to me, including the bus you took”
My eyes widened in surprised. Edwin?
No! This can’t be possible!
I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I didn’t know that all the time I was thinking that I was going away from him, I was just dancing to his tune in his sadistic game.
“But it is! He works for me and he did it to gain promotion, which was will surely give him” he told me, “Don’t forget that I purchased you when all the mafia gang leaders were right there. Everyone knows you are now my property. They will not try no mess with me unless and until they don’t want to end themselves” the side of his lips twitched into a sinister smirk.
He pulled his gun back and I coughed, trying to make inhale as much oxygen as possible through my open mouth. The metallic tang lingered on my tongue and I wanted to wash my mouth.
“Now, what do you think is the best punishment I should give you?” His words caught my attention.
He didn’t give me proper time to catch my breath when I could hear him walking somewhere.
I turned around to find him standing by a table. His back was facing me. He placed his gun on the table while he was checking the knife by running it on his finger, probably thinking about punishing me with it. I could see other knives of different sizes lying beside it, dripping with blood, which scared me even more.
I needed to act quickly, my mind raced and I did what felt at that moment.
Slowly, with silent steps, I walked to him. His focus was still on checking the sharpness of a knife when my hand reached out for the gun and I immediately took a few steps back.
Abruptly, he turned around and was a bit taken aback when he saw the gun in my hand.
I grabbed the gun from both hands and pointed it at him while taking steps back, towards the door that would lead me out of all this.
His eyes flicked down to my backing steps before coming back to my face and he started moving towards me.
“Don’t come forward. I will shoot you” my voice trembled but I was determined. It was not an empty threat. I was actually ready for it.
I really wanted to kill him for everything he had done. My threat didn’t seem to make him take his steps back. He kept on moving.
I was sure that there was no way out of this hell until and unless he was dead so without thinking much, I pulled the trigger.
A loud boom echoed in the room that startled me and was followed by his painful scream which was louder than the sound of the gunshot.
