CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-SEVEN
CATHERINE’S POV
I thought I had been shot, fear gripped me when my trigger pulled, I opened my eyes and there was Hayley on the ground and my own Nikky standing right in front of me lightning up the room with her magical powers she stopped me from being hurt, my perfect little girl.
“Mum, mum, are you okay?” she said.
” Yeah, yeah I am fine”.
She reached out for the creaky door and opened it up, when the door came open I ran to my baby to hug her . “ooooh my girl, how do you know I was in such danger”, I asked.
” It’s Diago, he tipped us in on Hayley’s anger towards Dad finding the truth about who she is and we searched for her in the mansion but we couldn’t find her, I knew immediately that you were in grave danger”, she replied.
I gave a very deep sigh, that’s a huge relief, I get to be with my family now, “thank goodness, where is Diego now?” I asked.
“He is on his way here and he went to get a few guards”, she said.
“Okay, your brothers, where are they?”, I asked curiously…
” We are here mum”, I heard them from outside the dungeon, their little feet running towards me and giving me a warm hug.
“I’m sorry mum, we should have come earlier, it’s just that we didn’t know what to do”, Ricky said.
“Well, that’s no big deal, the most important thing is that you and my kids are fine”, I smiled.
” I hope they didn’t hurt you so much”, Dikky asked.
” A little but it’s worth the stress”, I said.
My eyes turned to Ava in her own corners of the room
” Now I see why Burke locked you up and never wanted me to have anything to do with you, you are so cruel, same thing with Hayley no wonder both of you are friends, well it’s time for you to live your life with her isn’t it, you’re a piece of shit”, I scoffed.
“Hah, you got lucky this time, you’d be dead”, Ava replied.
“If you ever talk to my mum that way again I’ll kill you”, Nikky said angrily, her hands lighting up with magic to strike Ava to death.
“Nikky it’s okay, calm down, she is not worth any of our stress, we should leave here so we can fetch Diego for this bitch called Hayley”, I said, calming her down.
My words melted her heart and it caused her eyes to dim out.
I held my triplets in my arms and as I was about to walk out of the door I saw Diago come in with a bunch of guards behind his back.
They all stopped immediately when they saw me.
“My lady, are you alright?”, Diago asked worriedly.
“I guess,” I replied.
“Thanks be to the moon goddess,” he replied excitedly.
” Diago I want to thank you for everything you have done for my family and me, for saving me, for standing by me even when no one did, you are a very good person and I’m sorry I hurt you”, I said.
” It’s no problem, my lady, I am here for you always my lady”, he replied.
” Thank you, very much, okay kids, let’s get ready, we have to get to Chicago tonight”, I said facing the children.
“Chicago? “, they all chorused.
” Dull, yes do you think I am going to be here after what Burke has done to me, I mean he hurt me, he blamed me for everything that I did not do, clearly I am not needed, I never changed my mind about going to Chicago I got locked up here”,? You all know right?
“But but mum, daddy”, …
“Don’t daddy me, I was the one who went through a hell lot of shit and your daddy didn’t give a fuck about whether I died or not, so you all want me to die? “, I asked.
“No, no mum, it’s just that daddy … “,
“I said I don’t want to hear it, he is a mean person and you all should know that by now”, I cried. I cut in on dicky again.
” My lady I am deeply sorry for everything you have been through I know how bad you feel and my Lord doesn’t deserve your forgiveness but if you could at least hear him out, whatever he did he didn’t do it I’m his right senses, all I can tell you is that Burke is in love with you and his life would be miserable without you, just find a place in your heart to forgive him for everything he has done to you”, Diago said.
” Wow, you sure really do have Burke’s heart at hand all this pep talk about forgiveness and bullshit, why didn’t he forgive me, let’s just imagine I was the one who tried to kill him, why didn’t he forgive me, and worse still I wasn’t even one, I was so confused when he left me there in the hands of Hayley to die and so I can’t forgive him”, I said angrily.
“I know all these things might sound stupid to you but he wasn’t in his right senses, you remember he has also forgiven you and managed to turn things around in your favor in cases of punishable offenses, let’s take Grandma El’s corpse for example, all I am saying is that you should just hear my Lord”, he begged.
He was right though, Burke managed to get Grandma El’s case off my hook because of his love for me.
“Mummy please, just please”, Nikky begged.
“Okay okay, I’ll just hear what he has to say and nothing more, that doesn’t mean I’ll remain here”, I replied, frowning.
” That’s a good start my lady”, Diago smiled.
“I’ll be in the mansion waiting for you”, I said walking away.
” Alright lads, seize that imposter”, he said, turning to Hayley.
All I can do now is just to smile and that was exactly what I did.
