CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE
HARLEY’S POV
Burke turned to me shocked before turning back to Ava was still dumbstruck at the fact that Catherine was alive and healthy.
“You tried to kill me, didn’t you?” Catherine asked Ava as she walked towards her, the gasps from the crowd increased at the sound of that, I prayed to the moon goddess so Catherine wouldn’t implicate but she didn’t listen to me, because Catherine’s next attention was towards me.
“Are you surprised?” She asked me, smiling sheepishly.
I opened my mouth to speak but I found in words to say, Catherine is fucking alive, all our efforts are over.
“How are you alive Catherine and what the fuck is Ava’s crime in your alleged death? I don’t like them
Pointing accusing fingers at my sister,” Burke said, looking pissed because Catherine was accusing Ava of her alleged murder, he is still supporting his sister.
“I saw Ava and Harley watching my mother’s house burn to the ground when I ran to save her, the body you all consecrated belongs to Susan, your sister killed Susan,” Nikky yelled at Burke, angry at him for trying to support Ava,
“What? Tell me these are all lies and you didn’t have a hand in burning Catherine’s house to the ground?” Burke asked, looking suspicious, it was as if he suspected her already but needed confirmation.
“That’s not true Burke, I am happy Catherine is alive but I would never intend to kill her,” Ava denied although her eyes were filled with fear, she was scared her secret would be revealed.
“Then how can you explain the document that was signed by Harley that you and she conspired to kill me, my kids, and Burke,” Catherine said, throwing the document I signed with Nikky, so she would stand by me and work against Ava, I didn’t read the content of the document because she told me it was her pleging her loyalty to me. Fuck! I’m so stupid.
“Harley tell me you didn’t sign shit!” Ava yelled at me and I didn’t respond because my signature was boldly signed there.
“You cause this okay? You said you didn’t want to work with me, so I turned to Nikky,” I explained, gulping hard, even if I knew my explanation meant nothing to Ava and Burke.
“Like a fool, you trusted that little witch,” Ava yelled and I nodded, glaring at Nikky, for betraying my trust.
“Yes, like a fool, I trusted the little fucking witch,” I groaned at Nikky, who just gave me a mischievous smile, happy to have deceived me.
“Is this true?” Burke asked, he didn’t have time to think of what to say because his heart was breaking at every second, he didn’t want to believe that the little sister he once loved, was trying to kill him.
“Fuck, yes it is true, but you were too blind to see that the murderer was in your family,” Ava retorted, rolling her eyes at him, not bothered about the consequences that followed, Ava believed her brother would never do a thing to hurt her.
“Why did you want to kill me, Ava, I loved every damn things about you, I loved my little sister and would fight anyone that tries to make her cry, after all the love I have showered on you, why did you intend to kill me?” he asked, almost breaking into a sob.
“I wanted to be the first female Alpha because this pack is male-dominated,” Ava yelled, feeling unremorseful about whatever was going on.
“So killing me was the best option?” Burke asked and she nodded her head in reply.
“I swear, if there was another way to rip you off your position, I would have fucking done it, but there isn’t, so you and your family dying was a quick way to get what is rightfully mine,” Ava explained as she poured a glass on champagne inside a glass cup and gulped the whole content.
“And let me guess, Diago never tried to rape you?” he asked further, taking a slight glimpse at Diago who still has his head inside a sack bag.
“No, he didn’t, he just pork-nosed in a family matter,” Ava yelled and tears began to fill Burke’s eyes.
“I am sorry, Diago,” Burke apologized, as he waved his hand for the prosecutor to remove the sag bag used to cover his head.
“I wasn’t pocknosing, I was trying to save our Alpha because I am loyal to him not you,” Diago yelled, as soon as the sagging bag got off his head.
“Tell me all you found out,” Burke said and Diago nodded his head in approval.
“I found out that Ava was the one that poisoned your father in an attempt to poison you,” he said and Ava scoffed nonchalantly, as the gasps from the crowd increased.
“Tell me this is not true Ava,” Burke said, looking heartbroken.
“It is true, I killed Dad, Jack, and one of my guards, I was the other lady that kidnapped Catherine, I tried to kidnap Nikky in Chicago, I landed Ricky in the hospital, I brought Jaxon to the pack and I did it alongside with Harley,” Ava confessed, looking at me and smiling devilishly, she wants me to go down with her.
“All for you to become the Alpha, Ava I trusted you and took you as my sister, why the fuck would you do that to me?” Burke yelled, his voice sounded like thunder, and the mixture of anger, hatred, and hurt was evident in his eyes.
“Yes, I wanted to be Alpha, I even brought the plague so you could marry Harley and then she would kill you,” Ava declared, still implicating me.
“Is this true?” Burke asked me, looking at me with hurt, he gave me a second chance and I betrayed him, I hate myself for that.
“It’s true dad, they injected Emma with the syndrome so that you would be forced to get married quickly,” Nikmy chimed in, making me swallow hard.
“Ava and I fought because I didn’t want to kill you, I swear,” I said, sounding apologetic.
“Is that the cause of the quarrel or you are building up so many lies again?” Burke scoffed.
“No Burke, that is not the cause of the quarrel, I killed her grandmother, and she was very angry, like I wasn’t killing my family as well,” Ava said, and I felt like snapping her head off her neck but I couldn’t.
“Ava, you are a fucking snitch and I regret ever knowing you as my kid sister,” Burke said emotionally, But Ava didn’t give two shit about he felt.
“You were the one that tried to kill l, El?” Catherine asked, and before Ava could reply, Catherine gave her a loud slap across her face making the crowd gasp again.
“With that attitude, I will guess that El was among the people hiding you and that little witch didn’t do it alone,” she said, rubbing her face that had been slapped.
“But you saying tried means she is still alive?” I asked, and Nikky nodded her head with a smile, witches are the best healers most times.
“El is alive and wouldn’t be doing any dirty work for you two because you guys would be rotting in the dungeon,” Catherine declared, as she spat on Ava’s face.
Ava cleaned her face in disgust but didn’t react.
“First of all, I stabbed that motherfucker twenty-six times, how the fuck did she survive that secondly, did you think my brother would send me to the dungeon?” she scoffed, and it is true, Burke loved his sister so much, and would never send her to the dungeon even if that is where he belongs.
“I will answer your first question, firstly, I am a witch and a good healer, secondly my father would take any offender of the law to the dungeon, nothing is nothing special about you, so the law still applies to you,” Nikmg declared, holding her brothers hands, they were clueless of what was happening.
“I would have killed you the second you tried to act smarter than yourself,” Ava groaned and Nikky burst into a round of laughter.
“You tried to kill me with Tafana, remember? But I was under protection, you tried to kill my brothers too and they were also under my protection, Aunty, you are slow at times,” Nikky said, rubbing it all over her face and making her even angrier.
“You were the person that tried to kill my daughter?” Burke asked like he had not heard what she said properly before.
“Yes brother, because she was acting bigger than herself, she would need to apologize to me before he headed into the Mansion,” Nikky said, rudely.
“You are not going into the mansion with us,” Burje declared and Ava looked at him in confusion.
“What do you mean by that, Burke?” Ava asked and Burke turned his attention to the people of the pack.
“Harley and Ava, you are hereby declared as offenders of the law and your punishment is to rot in the dungeon for life,” Burke declared looking at Ava and my mouth dropped open, I can’t spend forever in prison.
The gasps from the crowd increased at every second.
“You want to take me to the dungeon for one mistake, you son of a bitch,” Ava yelled at Burke, as the guard as they bundled her up.
“A mistake is something you didn’t do intentionally, you killed numberless times and you were even planning to kill me,” Burke yelled and Ava rolled her eyes at him.
“Stop acting like a pussy and tell your guards to leave me the fuck alone,” She said as Burke’s guards bundled her up.
“Take her away,” he declared and they took Ava away.
They were coming to bundle me up when I stood up and yelled
“I am pregnant for the Alpha,”
